Abbafan1972 said:Morning all. Hope everyone is well.Have not been on for a few days, so been catching up on posts.Welcome hundredsandthousands, glad you decided to join online and to be honest, that method of membership seems to have improved, as I always thought online members got a raw deal.Coxy11 you look fabulous in that dress!Bubbs hope your Dad is doing ok.Was gutted last night at group - 1.5lb gain! Quite a few members had significant gains as well last night, so I don’t know if there was an issue with scales or what!I love going to group, but there is always one person that I feel spoils it for everyone else. This person has been going longer than I have and was at a different consultants group a while back - I used to go on the Saturday morning and she was always at the Thursday night one. I occasionally used to go to the Thursday night one. Last night she was very critical of the plan and the consultant, saying that nothing with the plan had changed for a long time and saying that she preferred the red and green days (I joined when it had just changed to extra easy). Also criticising the way everything was the same boring thing at group (image therapy is that what they call it) and that she was throwing her money away every week. Well nobody is forcing her to go and pay the money every week. Of course the consultant started to cry and disappeared for a few minutes to compose herself. Someone from the group got up and comforted her. It isn’t the consultants fault that this person has basically looked the same the whole time I have known her go to group (8+ years). It was awful I have to say.I don’t know what your thoughts on it are?Speak to you all soon. x
I don't stay at group, just weigh and go but the one session I did stay at (the day I started), seemed pretty supportive and informative although not much different in content to the WW ones I used to go to many moons ago. However, that one group I stayed at gave me so much information and a feeling of support that it helped me on my way, so they obviously do a whole lot of good for a lot of people.
I went the WW way rather than SW all those years ago because of the red and green days, it just wasn't suitable for me, so I am very pleased with the plan in the format as it is now...even if I refuse to call them syns because of the issues it causes for me mentally (I call them points, syns make me feel bad, get over anxious and then go on a downward spiral of over controlling intake)We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Coxy11 said:Morning all,
Another headache this morning - damn you TOTM! Slept better though so at least that's something.
I've lost 1st 7lbs in just under a year @Hundredsandthousands - so about 0.5lb a week. Haven't lost every week and had a few gains as we had 2 weeks in Cyprus and 2 separate charity hiking trips where I existed on packet sarnies and squashies! Would like to lose a few more pounds then call target, so aiming for target by Easter.
I think there's always a member or two that rock up to group every week and want it all to be about them @Abbafan1972. I go to a Saturday morning group and there's a lady who seems to be out most Friday nights and then doesn't see the results on the scales. I suggested that on those weeks, maybe weigh at a different group on a Friday morning so she's not disappointed. But she likes to 'see everyone' as it's probably part of her social life and I get that, but make better choices then or drive (which is what I do).
This is the reason I don't think I could be a consultant (despite much badgering from our area rep including a card through the post yesterday). We all know what to eat and drink to stay on plan and stay healthy. It seems some people just like to moan. That's really bad that it upset your consultant - what did the member do, did she apologies? I think there would be a LOT of moaning if SW were constantly changing the plan! Can't win!
Sorry about your gain and that does seem odd that several others gained too. I hope you have a good week and you'll soon see that gone x
Kudos to all those on here with health issues but staying on plan and in so doing, helping themselves to look and feel better. I take my hat off to you all x
DH is going away with his mates this weekend so I've only myself to suit tonight and tomorrow. I'm seeing a neighbour tonight - her DH walked out 3 years ago and hasn't seen his boys since. Such a nasty man. I've invited her here for drinks and nibbles rather than going out and us both spending. She doesn't drink and neither will I tonight. I will pop out later for some fizzy water and some low cal snacks.
Food will be:
B - Weetabix choc melts, FF nat yog, blueberries - HEB, F, S
L - JP, tuna, LTL mayo, balsamic, pickles - 1.5, P, S
D - LO chicken biryani - F
HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar plus 1.5 plus some low cal snacks tbd
Have a good day all.
Coxy
At the moment, every 6 weeks I have to go for physio and it just happens to coincide with every other official weigh in and with not much gap in between, which means that on those weeks, it has to be something quick gobbled down at her house or we need to give it a miss completely. Mum's wonderful suggestion earlier this week when I was warning her that it is happening again next week, is that we go back to having our meal out on a Tuesday and then it wouldn't matter and when I said that it wouldn't be sensible because of weigh in the next day, I was treated to waterworks, annoyance and anger at changing everything.
I hadn't realised until dad died just how much dad had hidden from us regarding mum's resistance to change and after years of wondering where it all came from, we now know which family line the autism came down from, even the boys say she out autism's them! Changing the behaviour, giving coping skills etc is so much harder to do with an 80 year old than it was with a 5 year old.
Re being a consultant, I keep being badgered now as does middle son. I know we have now lost a fair amount of weight between us but I don't think I would be the best person to advise others on what to do and how to do it as my way is a bodged together version of it due to my circumstances, issues with food and weird and wonderful body and middle son barely follows it at all now (he has reverted to calorie counting), we just use the weigh in to keep us on the straight and narrow and for the support. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Thank you maman, So if I scan the bar code, it will tell me if its a HEA?
I will look in sainsburys this weekend as the lidl oat milk scans as 2 syns per 100ml and is not a HEA

Singlesue, Im so sorry to read about your hip, that must be excruciatingly painful for you
I feel fortunate not to have hip problems on my long list of joint problems. I hope they can sort that out for you soon.
Both my kids are autistic and my son although clearly very hypermobile hasn't been investigated for Eds.
My daughter has been diagnosed with Eds & pots and is a wheelchair user.
My joints are mainly my knees, feet, ribs, sacroiliac joint and spine (also lots of disc damage) I was diagnosed at London hypermobility clinic after years of being fobbed off by doctors.
It was only when i kept passing out every day the investigations began at St Marys Queen square hospital London autonomic clinic at neurology. I also have other eds complications ....gums/stomach/eyes and many more.
It's always amazing when you meet another zebra and you're like, ME TOO!

Abbafan1972 Thank you for the warm welcome
I'm sorry for hear about your gain this week.
It's so frustrating when you know how good you have been,
maybe the scale calibration is due?
As for the negative member, I think that would effect me and my weight loss because I'm a emotional eater and
stress can set me off eating the wrong foods. Maybe the consultant should save the last 10 mins for people to voice any complaints? So people can leave if they don't want to hear it (or her)

coxy11 That's a good weight loss and it sounds like it happened at a nice steady pace.
I must confess to feeling very enviousbut also so pleased for you, well done!!! x

I was up early this morning and did some gentle physio
and with my husbands help will be making a large batch of the jackfruit curry today.
I'm also looking for any recommendations for a low syn curry sauce I can buy....... is there such a thing?0 -
Hundredsandthousands - thank you for your positive post and everyone else who replied to my post about last nights groups. I honestly hope this person leaves the group, as everyone is really lovely and we don’t need poisonous people like that round us.Regarding a low syn curry sauce try the mayflower ones. You can get them in Farmfoods, B&M.Hope that helps. xStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £30,358.130

Afternoon all, can't believe where the time has gone this morning! Apart from doing some washing and hanging it out and making a batch of falafels for lunch (they just need cooking now) I popped to the shops as needed some eggs and that's it the morning has gone!
@Abbafan1972 - I really feel for your consultant, that person sounds horrible. We had someone like that in the old group who was always going out and eating the wrong things and then wondering why she couldn't lose weight when others were losing several pounds! In the end she just told the woman not to come back unless she changed her negative comments and the woman left and didn't come back. Group was much nicer after that!
Today's plan:
B - cheese omelette - HEA2; P
L - falafel, salad in soft pitta - HEB; P; S (was going to be wraps but couldn't find any in the freezer!)
D - Fakeway KFC, chips; corn on the cob; beans - P; F. Will have some fruit after for S
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - soft pitta
Syns - couple of G&Ts 6
Have a good day everyone.

@Hundredsandthousands there's a free curry sauce in Iceland - in the Slimming World range - or you could make your own. I use an easy chicken curry recipe from the website.
I forgot to mention that I used the Olio app last night and bagged: 6 WM rolls (split and frozen individually), a bag of cauli florets (have frozen), 2 bags of casserole veg mix - froze one and have put the other in the soup maker for veg soup, and a bunch of yellow tulips. Was a bit of an ordeal as only saw them advertised around 9.20pm and jumped in the car - no diesel - so went to first garage - shut. Went to next garage and realised I only had phone with me, no purse, so paid on ApplePay which used up 2% of the 3% battery life I had left. Just managed to see the address before phone died, so had to zoom in on the SATNAV map to see where to go! Does anyone else use Olio?

Hundredsandthousands said:maman I thought I could have oat milk as a HEA but I checked the SW online HEA list and its not there?
I will take another look because I would be so happy!

Abbafan1972 The mayflower curry sauce is a favourite of mine it tastes so good I just presumed I could'nt have it
beanielou Im sorry to hear you've had balance problems for so long, I used to think mine would disappear one day but its been 20 years now so it's unlikely. I had to give up driving because of it.
Every week my 02 phone contract gives out a free drink from greggs and I discovered they are 6.5 syns each
Have a good weekend everyone x

I am gutted as well Abbafan 😥 1 .5 on as well i just can't understand it although i have been talking with my friend who also goes my normal group and the only thing i can say is pepsi max , i know it's free but i do drink alot of it, so i am just going to have a couple in the evening and water in the day and see if it makes a difference, if it doesn't i don't know what else to try and now OUT of target 😥😥
I spoke to the consultant and doing a food diary this week for her to look at .
Thanks for asking about Dad, he is still in hospital and it had been on lockdown again due to covid in the ward but opened up again Weds, Mum said he was a bit confused when she got there but then settled down. Yesterday he was a right fidget she said, up and down, getting out of bed , she said are you supposed to be doing that? he said dunno but can't get comfy 🙄
Hundredsandthousands, be careful with Mayflower powder we was talking about this in group this morning the syns changed and it is now 28g powder for 6 sysn, so you can still use it but not as low as it was before.

Food today
soft pitta hexb and half hexa, cheese spread and ham and beetroot, banana had after group
