Bah.
That's good bubbs.
No wonder there is such bed blocking.
11 years since my dad died.
How time flies.
No idea if I have had the menopause now or if I am going through it, must admit some of the symptoms have reduced but I do still get some signs occasionally (bloating, emptying etc) but the ovary pain from the endometriosis is no longer an issue apart from every now and again, blooming good thing, even after the hysterectomy, it was horrendously painful when I ovulated. Mum and nan went through menopause with no issues at all, the only things that told them it was the menopause was that they no longer had the monthly bleed and a very occasional hot flush.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Morning everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining?
I have approx 3 stone to loose (I can't bring myself to step on the scales) and its been 18 years since
I last tried slimming world and have since forgotten how it works?
I was shocked to see the online membership costs so think I may have to do a lot of research to follow it for free.
I had 2 eggs for breakfast with 1 slice of tesco seeded bread (not sure if this is syns)
For lunch I made a home made soup using sweet potato, carrots, onion & veg stock cubes (more syns?)
And a curry for tonight using richmond vegan sausages sliced, passata, onion, carrots, potato to serve with rice.
I remember there used to be a general guide that 20 calories = 1 syn and wondered if that's correct?
I have some cherry 125g low fat Brooklea yogurts (syns)
I feel quiet overwhelmed and wonder if there's any tips on how to get started please?

Morning all,
Hugs to @beanielou and @bubbs xx
Welcome @Hundredsandthousands good to have you with us xx
If you're not attending group then we can help with syn values. The Tesco Finest Super Seeded Farmhouse bread 800g loaf is 6 syns a slice. There are alternative 'large' loaves in Ts - Nevilles Wholemeal is 2 slices for a Healthy Extra B choice. You get used to it!!
Your soup sounds free - not sure if you used any oil - spray oil is free but olive oil is 6 syns for a tbsp.
Richmond vegan sausages aren't listed on the app but other brands are around 2.5 per sausage. All other ingredients for your curry are free.
The Brooklea 0% fat cherry yoghurt, 125g pot is 0.5 syns, the Brooklea Skyr High Protein Fat Free Cherry yoghurt 150g is 3 syns.
You can have 2 Healthy Extra A choices per day (measured milk/cheese), 1 Healthy Extra B choice (measured cereal/bread) and up to 15 syns. Some on here use a syn bank and spread 105 over the 7 days. See what works for you - good luck and keep posting xx
I went to bed around 10pm with a slight headache despite drinking 3 large glasses of squash. Woke up at 3am by DH crashing about trying to find the bathroom. I honestly think he sleep walks. Then up again at 5am to take some paracetamol and water for the seering headache, was sick 7, yes 7 times, then back to bed. I've just started work now!
Feeling slightly better but have only had a plain biscuit to take with more paracetamol. Luckily I'm WFH and boss is on a media visit so I can plod on/finish early.
Definitely think meno is hitting me now. I was sweating cobs in bed last night so have stripped it and will put out on the line once finished. @SingleSue my DIL2B has endo and has terribly debilitating TOTM, poor girl. Hoping she can get some help with that.
Food will be light and sporadic given my poorly tummy! In a NSV I am today wearing a knitted cotton dress from Hobbs that I got for £1 in a CS before lockdown. I'm wearing it with opaque tights and will see how out of shape it gets whilst sitting all day before I dare to wear it to the office. I think I'll need to invest in seamless spanx or similar though. It looks okay though, so I'm pleased!
Have a good day all

Morning all, have done a machine load this morning but not sure it's going to dry as it still seems quite damp out but there is some wind so hopefully it'll take the worst of it out before putting on the airer overnight.
Welcome @Hundredsandthousands. If you can afford it it may well be worth you joining a group to get all the books as things have changed quite a bit since you last did SW. It would cost you £10.95 just for the one week. I think it might be worth that fairly small expenditure as a kick start to your weight loss journey. Think it would be £10.65 if you're over 60 (such a big saving for pensioners, not!)
As @Coxy11 says we can help with syn values. If you have a Morrisons near you their own wholemeal 800g bread is also 2 slices for HEB and definitely nicer than the Nevilles wholemeal from Tescos! I can cope with the Nevilles as toast but not as a sandwich!
Nice NSV @Coxy11 - hopefully the dress won't "bag" too much from sitting down and you'll be able to wear it into the office.
Today's plan:
B - creamy garlic mushrooms; 1 slice toast - HEB; HEA2; S; followed by 1 slice toast & marmalade 1
L - stuffed pepper - S; F
D - sweet and sour pork; rice - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - Primula Light
HEB - bread
Syns - marmalade 1
Low syn day needed after yesterday's very synful day!
Have a good day everyone.

Me and middle son took up the offer of a referral and started at SW at the beginning of September. We have continued after the referral period (12 weeks) but luckily, we only have to go every three weeks because of cost and the difficulties with my work and my care duties to mum.
I've currently lost around 3 stone (we officially weigh in next week but home scales are showing the 3 stone loss) and middle son 4 stone, we started September last year.
I understand about the reluctance to get on the scales, I was the same and underestimated my weight by over 2 stone sadly although some of that had been piled on due to medication I had been put on in July last year. I too was overwhelmed with it all to start with and there have been some eeky days since the start of the process until I got myself into a routine and got my head around it all.
I've still got a long road to go down, I'm just under 3 stone to hip replacement referral weight (not the reason for going to SW but a handy target to now have) but more like another 5 stone to a healthy non obese weight range, yep, I really was that big and it seemed quite unachievable at the start but I break it down in half stone targets and try not to think about how far there is still to go, just how far I have come.We made it! For me, it wasn't just during TOTM, it was also around ovulation. Pethidine and morphine injections were required, transfusions, loads of collapses etc and it damaged my bowel, bladder, an ovary and my kidneys. One of the treatment courses is now banned and no longer used due to vastly increased cancer percentages but it left me with facial hair, a lowered vocal range and it was the start of my battle with my weight, I went from what would now be a size 0 to a size 16 within months and no amount of diet or exercise had any impact at all (I was at the gym every day, swimming, doing distance running, dancing and counting calories but each week saw a rise in the scales, it was so demoralising).
It was actually a relief to have the hysterectomy, although the endometriosis wasn't the prime reason for it but it helped. I had had a run of eek smear tests over a period of a couple of years, laser treatment to get rid x 3 and signs of a possible issue in my womb, so out it all came. The relief was immediate, I no longer looked grey and the pain magically gone, in fact it felt so good and the pain levels reduced, the day after the operation I convinced myself they hadn't done it as surely I would be in major pain from such a big operation and needing more than just paracetamol and went through my notes to make sure they had.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. @Hundredsandthousands I'm also new to SW (after a 5 year break) and new to this lovely group so welcome along. I'm an online member and I think it was around £60 for a 3 month membership which is a lot to shell out at the start I know. It might be worth looking on ebay for a starter pack which should be cheaper and has all the basics in with how to get started if you can't get to a class. If you get brave enough to jump on those scales, it will hopefully be the last time you ever see that number! I ended up being a few lbs lighter than I'd originally thought when I first weighed in, even if the number on there had me feeling very teary but it makes you more determined to succeed (in my opinion). I'd say most of us have access to the app so we can always look up syn values etc for you. Best of luck with everything
Coxy well done on your NSV. I have a few things in my wardrobe that I can't wait to slim into, mostly my summer dresses and I have a lot of size 12-14 things in a vac packed bag which haven't been worn for years - hoping by the summer I will be able to dig into it. In fact I worked out last night that I could be very close to my target weight by our holiday in September if I can keep losing an average of 1lb per week, this is keeping me going at the moment.
Today's food
B- cuppa and nectarine
L- WM soft pitta (found them at last!) with chicken, tomatoes, grated carrot, babyleaf and grapes on the side
D- gammon grill with SW chips and spring greens
Syns: popchips (4)
£1 a day for 2023 #58 £165/£3650
