    Morning all,

Sorry to hear you can't visit your DDad @bubbs - hope you get some answers today x

If there was ever any incentive to keep your weight under control, The Whale is it! OMG the film dealt with some tricky issues of loss, loneliness, poor mental health, sexuality, religion - it had it all, and only 6 cast members.

We are taking our car for an MOT and service today so DH will need to get up soon as we have to go to Sevenoaks and he needs to be back for an 8.45am call. Well at least I think we are booked in at Sevenoaks (where we bought it). The Maidstone branch rang yesterday to confirm our booking so DH corrected them. Could be interesting....

    Food today:
    B - 2 pears, mini babybels, grapes - S, HEA, free
    L - HM BNS soup, WM roll, 2 satsumas - HEB, S
    D - chicken biryani - free
    HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar 3, gin and slimline 3 so 6 total

    Have a good day all
    Coxy

Morning all, it's looking much brighter this morning although still cold but not frosty.  Did a machine load of washing yesterday afternoon when the sun was shining in order to use some of the solar power so will get that hung out on the line shortly.  There was no point hanging it out yesterday as it was probably about 3.30pm by the time it was done!

That's not good @bubbs about visiting suspended at the hospital.  Sounds like they could have something contagious on the ward so better to keep as many people away as possible to stop the spread.  I would have thought they should at least give a reason to your mum.

@Coxy11 - are you planning on using the oven for the biryani?  I've always made mine on the hob, in fact I don't think I've ever seen an oven baked version!

    Today's plan:

    B - overnight oats - HEB; S; F
    L - carrot and lentil soup - S; F
    D - jerk chicken, rice 'n' peas - P; S; F; 2

    HEA - milk
    HEB - oats
Syns - 50ml light coconut milk 2; may have a couple of rum & ginger beers 5

    Have a good day everyone.

Whad'ya know - got to main dealer in Sevenoaks and we are STILL booked in at Maidstone - DH very very annoyed. Now booked in for Tuesday and they will collect the car. If they end up charging us for that privilege I will lose my mind.

Yes @joedenise the recipe is from the Comfort Zone SW recipe book and uses the oven.

I think @joedenise is probably right about infection in the hospital @bubbs but no idea why they won't explain. Hope it gets sorted very soon.

It really does help having a partner/family supportive of SW @Coxy11. Obviously with the workload generally but also not faffing about cooking different meals. We share the cooking, more or less 50/50 which is brilliant. 😁

Last night worked out far more SW friendly than expected. I had prawn cocktail and sausage and mash with greens. I'm counting 12 syns just in case. They were high end sausages from a local butcher plus mayo in the Marie Rose and a small amount of gravy. DH asked me to drive as his wrist is a still a bit stiff and he didn't fancy the windy, dark country lanes so I was alcohol free! 😁

I've done my meal plan and shopping list so will sort that later today. It's gloriously sunny here and bedding is out on the line.

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks, baked beans (F), fried egg and bacon (P)
    L- lentil soup (P, S), sardine salad (P, S)
D- Tom Kerridge bacon and broccoli pasta (P, F, S), HEA 2 Parmesan
    Syns - weekend wine 😁

Sorry you've put on the lb you lost last week @bubbs.  It really doesn't make sense at all as your food is always completely on plan.  Maybe you need to up your syns a bit to see if that helps.

You're right @bubbs that someone has gone on the ward with covid; do hope your dad doesn't catch it.  Hope they change your dad's bag regularly - the last thing he needs is for them to neglect to do things like that again.

I'm another that doesn't like rice noodles but I'm not keen on the ready to wok ones either.  I usually buy the dried egg noodles, they only take 4 minutes to cook so not long at all.

    Enjoy your KFC!

It's hard to hear there's Covid on the ward @bubbs. I think people just aren't testing like they were and perhaps assuming symptoms are ordinary colds. ☹️ Do they still check when you go into the hospital? 🤔

Shame about the gain, but a pound extra is hardly fat! 🤣 You know it's healthy and good for your diabetes so worth persevering but I think @joedenise is right about the syns. I hope you still have Chinese or something synful tomorrow although you can't go visiting.

I have medium egg noodles too @joedenise. I think the rice noodles are too thin and a bit claggy.

Oh no to the pesky pound @bubbs. You’ll soon have that off. Sorry to hear there’s Covid on your DDad’s ward. Just unbelievable what’s he’s having to go through xx

We used 7 chicken thighs for the biryani. I had 2 and DH had 3. I split the remaining 2 and rice/veg into 2 boxes for the freezer. Very tasty.

Weigh in tomorrow. I feel ok - hoping for a loss (obviously) we shall see 😊

Pleased to hear about the Chinese @bubbs but honestly astounded about the hospital. I'm torn between being furious about the state of the NHS (not their fault IMO that they don't have the equipment) but pleased they had the sense to try and chase it up through your mum. She's a star! 😍

I was with a friend last night who's just had surgery for bowel cancer. He has a temporary stoma bag. Not sure if there are different types but surely the hospital should have supplies in many departments . 🤔
