    Morning all,

DH told me he couldn't find the 5-spice jar so went to Ts for some. They have rearranged the spice jars over the ends of two aisles, but instead of A on top shelf followed by B on shelf below, they have carried it across to the other end aisle - OCD in overdrive there! Anyway they didn't have any so he went to the Chinese supermarket and bought a 100g bag only for me to find the jar in the cupboard last night. He obviously did a man-look. That 100g will see us out I reckon.

WFH today and tomorrow thank the Lord. I have made another couple of Bay of E sales, so will package them up and get them posted today. Food will be:

    B - poached egg, grilled bacon, mushrooms - P, S
    L - JP, tuna, ltl mayo, carrot sticks, pickles, 2 satsumas - 1.5, S
D - SC chilli con carne with rice, grapes - free
    HEA - milk
    HEB - hi fi bar
    Syns - 1.5

We are at the cinema tonight to see The Whale.
    Have a good day all

    Hi all

STS for me this week but I've been less than perfect with food this past week. Went over daily syns twice I think and probably didn't eat enough speed. So that's my focus for this next week. I'm happy not to have gained at least. I think not being able to exercise as much has probably impacted weight loss too. I've pulled a muscle in my groin (I think), the other leg has sciatica pains so trying to rest up and hope that this helps.

Food shop later so I can stock up on lots of lovely free and speedy things

B cuppa using HEA, fruit and yoghurt after shopping
L eggs on toast - will add something speedy, not sure what yet
D chicken pasta bake and salad

Syns will try to keep them low

    Have a good day everyone

Well done on STS @cherry_22 and you have a plan for next week.  I mentioned on another thread I'm hoping to find a local green grocer as I've been disappointed lately with supermarket fruit and veg - especially the amount of packaging for some things.

WFH today too @Coxy11 and DS has already sent me three links to houses he's keen on so that's my lunch break sorted!

Food today is using up fridge and freezer items.

    Today's food:
B - bran flakes (HEB), f/f Greek yoghurt, mango, Skinny syrup (0.5 syns)
L - leek and potato soup, pineapple to snack on
D - chicken penne romano (DS cooking) with side salad

    Have a good day all!

Morning all, was going to do some washing this morning but it's so grey I've just washed out all the floor cloths and hung them on the line!  They needed washing as we've had a problem with the dishwasher leaking.  DH tried changing the washer on the water pipe last night but got up this morning to another puddle so have just put it out the front for the scrap man to pick up!  We've not used it for several months and just been washing up by hand as it's just easier and quicker and it's what we have to do when we're away in the motorhome so no big deal!

@Coxy11 - had to laugh at your DH's "man look"!  Still as you say you've got a lifetime supply of 5 spice now!!!  At least you found the jar so you'll be able to refill that rather than having a cellophane packet in the cupboard which is more likely to spill and make a mess!

Well done of your STS @cherry_22; it's always good to scrape that when you haven't been completely on plan.

    Today's plan:

    B - stuffed mushrooms - HEA2; S; F
    L - jacket potato, tuna mayo, salad, pickles - P; S; F; 4.5
    D - pork steak, mash, green veg - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
HEB - none planned but may have a couple of Ryvita - that of course will up the syns a bit as will need either a bit of Primula or butter on them!
    Syns - Light mayo 4; tsp M&S chutney 0.5

    Have a good day everyone.

Well done on your STS @cherry_22. You're doing exactly the right thing. Whenever I'm asked for advice on SW at group I always say Speed and Planning. It's kept me at target for 10+ years! 😁

I know what you mean about the packaging on fruit and veg @Jellybaby. I do recycle all of mine but our Sainsbury's does sell quite a bit of loose stuff which I buy occasionally. Fortunately I'm happy with the Aldi quality locally, probably to do with high turnover.

Over time, I've been buying spices from Sainsbury's as I like their wide necked jars which you can ft a spoon in. Sainsburys Chinese 5 Spice

I only buy them once as they're easily refillable. Good that your DH went to the Chinese supermarket and bought a pack instead of going to Waitrose @Coxy11! 😉

Our last dishwasher packed up during the first lockdown @oedenise and we washed up by hand for a while.  DH said he enjoyed it, probably because we had plenty of time and little else to do!🤣 We did replace it but I've tried to cut back to using it every two days instead of daily, although I make an exception with Sunday roast. As I've always got a bowl of soapy water after dinner to wipe down the kitchen, I wash 'clean' things like glasses and most saucepans to make enough space.

Not sure about syns today as we're going out to eat with friends tonight, the first time this year! Others have either been ill or away enjoying winter sunshine so this is the first date that suited this group. I usually make good choices but wine syns are involved. I've had a SW breakfast (porridge and fruit) and LO corned beef hash with fried egg for lunch so all fine so far.

Well done on the STS @cherry_22

Yes it could've been worse @maman! At least he cooks and actually enjoys it!

The SC chilli was lovely. One portion in a bowl for DH's lunch tomorrow, and a portion in a pot for the freezer for my office lunch.

Tomorrow is chicken biryani - First time using the oven for over a week!
