Morning all,
Sorry you've been under the weather @maman - I hope you're feeling brighter and better soon x The easy chicken curry is from the 50 Golden Greats book. I'll post the recipe in the next post.
We had loaded sweet potatoes last night from the Fast Feasts book. Not exactly fast as you have to bake the potatoes for 45 mins. We did that and they were still not quite done, so I pinged for a few minutes each too. The topping was 2% turkey mince with a tin of chopped toms, baked beans, peppers, and various spices. I made double of the mince mixture and have frozen 2 portions. It was nice (for turkey mince!) but despite being 2% fat I still got a fair bit of fat drained off from the pan before finishing cooking.
Today's food:
B - poached egg, grilled bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms - P, S
L - mackerel in mustard sauce, tomatoes, carrot sticks, 2 babybel, 3 ryvita - Free, S, HEA, HEB
D - SW Chicken supreme and rice - free
HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar - 3
Have a good day all

SW Easy Chicken Curry from the 50 Golden Greats book:
Serves 4, Free, ready in 50 minutes
2 large onions, finely chopped
5cm piece fresh root ginger, peeled and grated
3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 medium-hot re chilli, deseeded and chopped plus extra to serve
200ml boiling chicken stock
2 tbsp curry powder (heat to your taste)
6 skinless and boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite sized chunks*
3 tbsp tomato puree
200g spinach leaves
100g fat-free natural Greek yoghurt
Put the onions, ginger, garlic, chilli and 4 tbsp of stock in a large non-stick saucepan over a medium heat. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover, increase the heat to high and continue to cook, stirring now and then, until the excess liquid had gone and the onions are golden and syrupy.
Add the curry powder to the pan and cook for 2 minutes. Add the chicken and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring often, then stir in the tomato puree and the remaining stock. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Uncover the pan and simmer for 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has reduced and thickened.
Stir in the spinach and cook very gently for 2-3 minutes or until the spinach has wilted, stirring often. Remove from the heat and stir in the yoghurt (or serve on the side with a little chilli powder)
*we used 2 chicken breasts for the two of us and it made 3 portions.

Morning all.Sorry, I’ve not been on for a few days. Hope everyone is well.Managed to lose 0.5lb at weigh in this week. So was pleased with that.Someone in a earlier as about SP - this was discussed a bit last night at group and I have tried it before, but found it very difficult and haven’t attempted it again. Also, we have a taster session next week and the theme is “free foods” 😩. I will try and do something.Speak to you all soon. xxStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

Morning all, DH is going to take the car when he goes to golf this morning so I'll be carless today so once I've done the necessary housework I'll walk down to my friend's house and make sure she's OK after her op. She's still very sore and can't do much more than making cups of tea and microwaving some of her HM ready meals from the freezer.
When I read that recipe @Coxy11 I couldn't believe it said 6 chicken breasts for 4 people - that's a lot of meat - good to see you only needed 2 to make 3 portions, that sounds more like the amount of meat I'd use! In fact if the chicken breasts are big I'd probably only use one. Most of the ones I have in the freezer are frozen individually as they are very large; there's probably only 2 or 3 packs which have 2 breasts in because they weren't big enough to share!
Shame you aren't always able to taste properly after your cold. Nice that your DH was appreciative of your efforts last night even you weren't able to taste it! Hopefully your taste buds will spring back into action soon.
Today's plan:
B - overnight oats - HEB; S; F
L - scotch egg, salad, pickles - P; S; F (used the last of the Aldi onion and rosemary sausages - must try and get some more)
D - kedgeree - P; S; F
HEA milk
HEB - oats
Syns - none planned
Noticed last night that Aldi are now on the TGTG app so will be keeping an eye on that as well as Morrisons in future. I keep missing out because my local Morrisons has changed the time they put the bags on the app from 9.15pm to 8.15pm - think the shop must be closing earlier than it used to - probably something to do with the COL crisis. Our Tesco used to be 24 hours but have changed their hours to 8am - 10pm which is what it used to be years ago.
Have a good day everyone.

Well done on your 0.5lb loss @Abbafan1972 - ooh what will you make for the taster session? I'm hoping we will start to have these now that we have a bone fide consultant!

Looks like you posted at the time I was typing @Abbafan1972. Well done on the 0.5lb loss.
Don't think I'll be going back to group this week but did notice on our Facebook page that there is a competition and to take a form if you want to take part. The following week food or photos of the food can be taken in - so a sort of taster but not for every one only those taking part in the competition.

Well done on your loss @Abbafan1972. 👏👏👏 A step in the right direction!
And a step towards retirement for you @Jellybaby. You'll soon be counting down and you'll be slim and fabulous for a fresh start. 👍
Thanks for the curry recipe @Coxy11. It's similar to the bhuna but that uses chilli powder and some other spices as well as the curry powder. I use frozen spinach. What makes your recipe quicker is that you don't have to remember to marinate the chicken the night before. 😁
I agree @joedenise that it's a vast amount of meat in the recipe. Chicken breasts seem to be enormous lately. Like you, I portion them singly as 1 is enough for a stir fry. Sometimes I use thighs for a curry and often add chestnut mushrooms.
Thanks for the good wishes. I don't feel too bad in myself but my taste seems to come and go.
I'm going to the theatre tonight and have to leave early so I'll have a snacky tea and have more when I get home if I'm hungry. Likely to be alcohol free too as I don't like those little bottles of wine in theatres.
Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, fried egg and bacon (P), tomatoes (S)
L- ham, egg (P), bubble and squeak, beetroot (S, F)
D- rice salad (F, P, S), prawns (P)
Syns - prawn marinade 10
