Jellybaby said:It's funny how we keep to certain practices for WI. I wear the same clothes - or 'uniform' as I call it - every week 🤣 Lentil soup was enough for lunch today, lovely and thick you could almost stand the spoon up.
I was 4lbs away from the target I set when I joined SW on their scales last Wednesday, 1 and a quarter pounds away from it on my home scales as of this morning (2.5lbs last Wednesday). My long term aim is not a weight but a size, to be able to get into size 14 jeans comfortably although my physio gave me an idea last week for a weight to be eligible for hip surgery which is probably slightly above that.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.1 -
Thanks for the sweet and sour recipe @Coxy11 - I don't usually cook the pineapple in the sauce I just stir it into the hot sauce when dishing up so I don't have to syn it!
@SingleSue - I was also wearing a t-shirt when I first weighed but also lightweight trousers and I still wear a t-shirt and the same trousers when I weigh now; the trouble is the trousers aren't very warm in the winter, not so worried about the t-shirt as I always have a jumper to put on after I've weighed! Not much I can do about the trousers though.
I always have a mushroom omelette on WI day as it's nice and light and is more filling than something like Weetabix especially as my group is later than it used to be and I don't get home until about 1pm so. means lunch is always later than my usual time of 12.30pm; it's more like 1.30pm by the time I've made something.
@maman I'm pleased to say that my eye seems to be OK and I haven't got any pain from it - it just looks unsightly! Definitely looking quite black. Have to say it doesn't look as bad through my glasses so maybe once we're away it won't show as much because my glasses will be much darker because of the sun!
I don't know about other groups but both my old group and the current group consultant don't push for target weights as the beginning and just suggest starting with 7lb at a time to start with and then set an interim target or final target as and when you're ready which I think it probably a better way.

Of course @joedenise, you'll look quite the femme fatale! 😎 Glad to hear it's not painful though.
I think the 7lb increments is a great idea. My first consultant was very keen on final targets but not the current one.
You're doing so well @SingleSue and it's excellent news that you'll easily reach the weight needed for surgery. Any idea when that might be? 🤔
My original 'uniform' is long gone @Jellybaby. My group had a good laugh because my trousers became so loose I could get in and out of them without undoing the zip! I wore them for a while with a belt but now I always wear leggings and my lightest top (which I know because I've weighed it! 🤣).0 -
Hello. Meant to say about the Linda McCartney red onion sausages. Looked in Aldi last night for their equivalent, but couldn’t find anything. Are they frozen? I looked in the Frozen vegetarian section and I couldn’t see anything. I can’t remember who mentioned about them on here. xStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

@Abbafan1972 - it was me who mentioned the onion and rosemary sausages in Aldi. They don't always have them but they are in the freezers with the other vegetarian things. They are in a bag and not a box. I've only managed to get them a couple of times. Think you just need to keep looking when you go in to the store.

Well blood donation was a complete embarrassment. Went to a different venue (Swanley) as my local one was fully booked. Passed the finger spike test but when they hooked me up I had ‘slow flow’ and alarms kept going off. Cue senior nurse tightening the BP armband and digging the needle in a bit more. Had to give up after half an hour and arm was bandaged as very bruised. Still had a glass of squash and a bag of Seabrooks 90 calorie crisps as a treat - 4.5 syns.Creamy pork and greens was lovely - like stroganoff. Used quark - DH was impressed!Finished the day on 10.5 syns.
