@Jellybaby - did you not use your HEB for the baked oats?  If you didn't then they would be syns!

It's very easy to accidentally overlook them when you don't use your HEB as something you can see automatically like a couple of slices of bread made into a sandwich!

  • Morning all.  Have 2lbs to go to get to the next stone bracket @maman so have my eyes on that as an interim target at the moment and if I can lose 1lb a week then I'll be at target before our cruise in August, where I need to be sensible because we have a wedding to go to a week later and I don't want to have to buy another dress for it (I already have one in my wardrobe that was a little tight when I was 5lbs lighter than where I am now).

It's about -6 this morning but I still got up and did my workout.  Currently sitting here in my fleecy leggings and a dressing gown, hoping I warm up soon as have to run a training session this morning.  Had porridge with banana and a tiny bit of local honey for breakfast, lunch will be more butternut squash soup and dinner is a veggie filled pasta bake.

Right time for another coffee - hope everyone has a good day!
When I did a cruise last year, I made a decision to not use the lifts, and only use the stairs. This really helped keep my weight on track but was also averaging 20k steps a day. There were lots of healthy choices, and puddings were all on the petite side.

Yes @joedenise but I was taking my Mum who lives in Sittingbourne. My local hospital is the PRU in Bromley.

Extreme ironing is good for getting steps/body magic in @ruby_eskimo and @annabanana82. Basically you iron a garment, fold or hang it then go upstairs and put it away - each time! I'm going to do this later as my step count drops off a cliff when I WFH.

I don't iron either @joedenise!  Might steam something every once in a while but don't really worry about creases, even my wedding dress had creases galore in it 🤣

Thanks @annabanana82, we're also planning on using the stairs a lot and we're off to Norway so lots of hiking planned which will keep the steps up and I might make use of the gym on board also, if only so I can have some fun on the machines because I just work out at home with my dumbbells rather than go to a proper gym.

That's where we went, it was absolutely breathtaking. If you are in the area I can highly recommend the Olden Skylift, that was brilliant. I had so much energy up there I could have walked for hours.

    Also not an ironer

That's an excellent way of setting targets @ruby_eskimo. Won't be long before you see that next number on the scales!😊 I was encouraged to set a target when I first joined SW. I really just picked a number from the air that I remembered being in the dim and distant past but my real target (in my head) was to comfortably get into a size 12 in a decent brand. Do consultants push people towards long term targets these days? 🤔

Like you, I found there were lots of options for food on a cruise @annabanana82. I loved the buffets with all the salmon and salads.😋

I agree that it's far better to have lunch at home @Jellybaby especially at this time of the year to have something hot. Soup on its own isn't enough for me though. I always have something else like a tin of sardines with a bit of salad/pickles as well.

Thanks for the sweet and sour recipe @Coxy11. I suppose it would work with chicken too. definitely one to try.👍🏼 I prefer noodles with sweet and sour too. When I use the Ben's sauce, it coats noodles really well whereas it disappears into rice.

    How is your eye @joedenise?🤔
I'm very boring when it comes to using HEBs. I almost always use it for breakfast, porridge or wholemeal toast. The only exception is every 8 weeks when I have Weetabix pre WI! That's because I had cereal for breakfast on the day I first started so I've kept everything the same ever since.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks, 2 fried eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S)
L- JP(F), cottage cheese, ham (P), spring onions and pickles (S)
D- veggie chilli (P,S), brown rice, peas (F) HEA2 cheese
    Syns- 0

@Coxy11 - if you're near Swanley wouldn't Darenth Valley hospital be nearer than MM?

Soft pittas are available as white or wholemeal but only wholemeal are HEB.  I very rarely buy them as don't think about it, not even sure if Tesco sell them!  When I got them before I bought them in Morrisons.  I think they're nicer, and a bit bigger, than the mini wholemeal pittas.

Looking forward to the sweet and sour pork recipe.
We got the soft wholemeal pittas in our local Tesco yesterday, we made sure and scanned with the app just in case we were picking the wrong ones up.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

It's funny how we keep to certain practices for WI.  I wear the same clothes - or 'uniform' as I call it - every week 🤣     Lentil soup was enough for lunch today, lovely and thick you could almost stand the spoon up.
