  • Hi all,

Been awhile since my last check in, well done on all the losses.

That lady that loss 20lbs in a week is crazy! Can't imagine how that actually happens. My 1st week of SW was my best loss ever at 4.5lbs. I always think the loss is more reflective of your diet before, but that's a huge amount of weight to go in one.

Been a bit of an odd week, ate out twice, once was okay we are a little obsessed with Asian food at the moment so went for a Korean rice poke bowl. The day after not so good, steak, drenched salad (thought it would be the healthier option) pavlova and 2 pints of IPA, I'd like to think my march to bus station balanced the damage but wishful thinking.

WI tomorrow, then not again until 30th January as DD has a big birthday turning 18 next week. Thankfully keeping to the Asian theme and going to Pho a Vietnamese restaurant which I think is relatively SW friendly.

Dropping a few hints about going to SE Asia for holiday next year as abroad this year is seeming increasingly unlikely.

    Afternoon all
WI yesterday with STS. The fruit & yog didn’t work for me as was hungry well before lunch. So have gone back to granola 🥴. All measured & counted. Evening meal has been a bit hit & miss as hubby had cooked a couple of times so not low syns. I try where I can 🤗

Feeling rubbish today, sore throat & coughing 🤧😷. Hubby is a concern at the moment as has developed a thrombosis in his forearm. Kidney centre don’t seem bothered about it though. Today it has grown as is nearer the fistula which could affect dialysis. I’m more concerned about it breaking up & going towards his heart 🥺 it’s also very painful & hot.
He has a consultant appointment on 1st Feb but that’s still a bit away, no-one seems concerned though just us 😳. Looking like another operation soon!

Have a good week all, mind the forecast snow!!
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Sorry it wasn't a good visit but good you're still within syns for the day @bubbs.  Food looks good as always.
Not now cause i just ate a chunk of Xmas cake 🙄 first bit i have had
Well done @bubbs. You have so few syns, I'm glad to see you eating them. Sorry your visit wasn't good yesterday but staying through the hospital mealtimes does seem to help.

Well done on your wee loss @Jellybaby. Slow and steady! 👍🏼

STS is fine if your DH is cooking off plan meals @TakeItEazy. Well done for making sure you don't get hungry.

I know SW say nothing is banned @SingleSue, many of us choose to cut things out. Some for health reasons like your bread products and @bubbs with her low carb but some because of lack of willpower! 🤣 I'd rather have no crisps at all than a stingy little bag now and again so I just have them on holiday or special occasions. I don't think it matters having 3 meals if you're not a breakfast person. The problems arise when people skip breakfast, get hungry mid morning especially if at work and then just grab junk to see them  through.

I stopped eating cheese until SW introduced the second HEA @Matron_Midge. Even now, I rarely have cheese and crackers except when eating a special meal out or at Christmas. Lasagne didn't appear on the menu until now I can make it really low syn just using HEAs and a bit of cornflour for the sauce. Your hostess really did try to make it a healthy meal which just demonstrates how easy it is to have hidden calories/syns.

Yes please to the sweet and sour recipe @Coxy11. I've never found a good one to match the Ben's sauce but like @joedenise  I like the idea of plenty of veg.

I'm allowing 10 syns for my meal yesterday evening. I avoided the quiches and stuck to cold meats and salads. The only obvious syns were in mayo/dressings and I had a small slice of date and walnut cake with coffee. I've still got 60+ syns to last until Wednesday and I know I don't really need any after today so I'm confident I'm giving it my best shot.

I enjoyed my Home Fries/hash so much yesterday that I had it again today. I think it's the fried onion that makes the difference. It's as tasty as doing roast vegetables and chips but much quicker.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, baked beans (F), bacon, fried egg (P), HEA milk for drinks
    L- ham (P), Home Fries (S,F), pickled cabbage (S)
D- beef in 'red wine' (P,S), SW roast potatoes (F), many vegetables (S)
    Syns- cornflour 1, weekend wine😁

    Afternoon all

    Well done losers 👏👏

Anna, that woman always loses big, but also gains big, i would think her average a week is 5/6lb she eats lots as well like me 😂

TIE hope your DH is ok and gets sorted soon x

Maman it did not help at tea time yesterday as he ate about a teaspoon full 😪 as he could not swallow 😫, ended up choking and me running to get help, they got the suction out and everything but then we managed to dislodge it. He must have ate lunch time because his bag told us , sorry if TMI

I said to Mum he smells like a babies nappy :( she looked at his bag and it was all leaking from the top but she said it was on right this time, anyway she changed him and later on i said it again, leaking again the same, she is going to speak to the Stoma nurse tomorrow because she thinks it's because he has lost weight it is not fitting properly :(

He had been complaining of pain since we got there and he very rarely complains of pain and was asking for his "medicine " which is his oral morpine and he rarely has that, i rubbed his back, they came to give him some pain relief , bloody paracetamol 🙄 we said he asking for his oral morph, oh he don't have that, i said he does as i order the prescriptions and it's on there! anyway tried the paracetamol, took him ages to to try and swallow them and we thought they had gone, but about 15 minutes later he coughed them up 😪 so i asked for more and this time he got them down.

We know he was in pain as he was drawing his legs up like a baby does when they have tummy ache.

Tomorrow she is ringing PALS, speaking to stoma nurse and trying to get his moved hurried up, she said he was not like this before lockdown :(  and he says i don't know why i am like this 😪They are saying waiting for a room, my sister messaged the home and they said there is a room 🤷‍♀️ she also asked them about a drink like complan, they said no they dont make dairy free, she googled it and said what's this then? Yesterday there was one there

    Food today

Also made rice pudding for pudding later, hexa, crustless quiche is one hexa
Look at yorkies 1 syn each 🤪

Sorry to hear that your dad's in pain on top of everything else @bubbs. I do love the way you and your sister won't take no for an answer. Brilliant about the dairy free drink!  They'll be glad to see the back of you when (🤞very soon) your dad gets his room.

Glad to see you've been cooking as normal on a weekend. Quiche looks amazing. 😋 No egg shortage around your way. 🤔
