Not the results you'd hoped for @bubbs and @Coxy11 but not too bad.😊
It's frustrating when you know you've stuck to plan and don't lose @Coxy11. Sometimes it can take more than a week to show so hopefully you'll get a decent loss next week.
You've been understandably all over the place this week @bubbs so STS isn't bad. You've probably not eaten enough overall and definitely not enough syns.
I checked back in my book and 5.5lbs is the most I've ever lost in a week. That's happened a few times. My biggest gain was 7 lbs but that was after a 3 week holiday. I think the people who regain the weight @cherry_22 are those that treat SW like a diet, lose and then go back to eating how they did before. Some people cut back on syns and don't have proper meals either. We had a woman in my group who just ate melon all day, lost loads then went back to her normal eating and regained it. Someone used to post on here that ate loads of raw carrots. I find the best way is to have 3 decent meals a day. I'm rarely hungry enough for snacks (unless I have an early dinner) but I try to keep SW friendly snacks in the fridge just in case. I definitely go off plan for holidays and the like but get back on ASAP.
I'm really envious of your holiday coming up @joedenise. We really must get away soon. I'd be happy with a couple of nights in this country but waiting until DH's wrist is better or I'd have to do all the driving!.
I made a version of Home Fries for my lunch, like they serve in an American diner. To up the Speed I added some pepper, baby sweetcorn and mushrooms to the onions and potatoes so like a hash really. It was delicious. I'm dancing with a shared supper again this evening. It's always fairly low syn and because I'll be driving, no wine syns will be involved.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, baked beans (F), bacon, fried egg (P), HEA milk for drinks
L- cold meat (P), home fries (F,S), pickled cabbage (S)
D- buffet
Syns- tbc

A wee half pound off for me this morning. Happy it’s off but thought it might be more so I’m joining you doing a food diary @Coxy11. You’ve done well @bubbs considering what you’re going through.
Parents are still showing positive so it was just me on the food shop this morning. Is it bad to say I thoroughly enjoyed it 😁 and even deviated from the usual route 🤣🤣
Banana and coffee at group, bacon roll inhaled at lunch time and dinner tonight will involve steak in some kind of stir fry I think. No syns so far but it’s still early 😉

The most I've lost is 7lbs, that was the first week.
I don't have all the syns I'm allowed as my body is awkward, it has always been that way but has been made worse because I can't exercise or up my activity. Way back, I could never start off on a 1200 calorie diet, it always had to be 1000 and go down from there and at WW, I always had to start on the almost to target points rather than the just starting points....I don't lose otherwise.
I did try it for a week on SW and had pretty much what I am supposed to have syn wise but it did not go well, the scales certainly didn't like it. I also only have two meals a day, have never really eaten breakfast but again, I have tried to change that only to end up almost making myself sick because I was forcing the food down....I have to be up a good couple of hours before I can face food and keep it down.
I don't snack between meals, didn't really before SW (the boys would moan when they came home from uni about the lack of 'nice things'), so don't keep treats, even low syn/SW friendly ones handy. I do have a satsuma or some raw carrot if needed though. That said, I do make sure that I do have some syns every day, I couldn't be doing living on just carrot or melon and going completely syn free, my diet is restricted enough and my attention span too short to go that far!
I've rediscovered omelettes this week after taking a break because I got bored of them, cue trying to order some decent eggs on our weekly shop only to have them substituted for boring ordinary medium ones at an inflated price so we made a trip to the local farm shop where I got proper free range local ones (extra large too) for cheaper than the supermarket ones. I've also been adding in sardines to some of my lunches but I'm keeping bread and bread items out for the time being as my reflux is virtually non existent and my IBS much improved without it.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Morning, and happy Sunday.
I’ve had a good week until Friday evening hit. Unforeseen circumstances led to us having a pizza. Nothing I could do about it so I just had a couple of slices and thought I’ll catch it back tomorrow. Saturday was ok for breakfast and lunch and then we went to dinner at a friends house. We’d had a conversation earlier in the week about how I’m trying to shift a bit of flab and my friend said she was too and she would “cook light”
My friend is a very accomplished cook and so I was really looking forwards to our meal. When we arrived the most delicious smell was wafting in the hallway. We had a large g&t (slimline Schweppes) and went into the dining room. On the table were two bowls. One was a large green salad and one was an intriguing mix of grains and chopped veggies. In she came with a very large, very hot dish and there was a bubbly, cheesy lasagne that looked utterly fabulous. Before I said anything, she said “ I know we’re all slimming so I’ve not done a starter and there is just fruit for pudding” phew! I had a modest portion of lasagne and loaded up on salads. The lasagne was delicious and was defo full fat. It had bacon bits and chorizo pieces in with the tomato sauce and a good covering of a thick gooey cheese sauce. Anyway, we are where we are and we enjoyed it and eventually moved on to pudding. The biggest bowl of gorgeous strawberries came in and a dish of yogurt.
I helped myself to a dish and plonked a dollop of yogurt on it. I was just about to spoon it in my mouth when my friend pipes up “I got yogurt instead of cream because it’s much better for your gut. We don’t like the low-fat stuff though” Oh well, I thought, I’ve put it in my dish now so I’ll just eat it. Then she says ‘out of season strawberries are a bit tasteless so I’ve pepped them up with a bit of sugar” 😳😳
Bless her. Granted it was a much lower calorie meal than one of her usual spectacular feasts but not on plan at all.
I've weighed in this morning and STS - I’m a bit peeved but that is life. Hopefully normal on plan eating will resume from now.
Im not hungry at the mo so I’m just having a coffee. Lunch is cauliflower and blue cheese soup (2nd HEa) with HEb and dinner is chicken thighs, Greek lemon potatoes and veg.
Fingers crossed I’ll have a better result next week0 -
Morning all, we finally have a dry day so washing is out on the line having a good blow. I actually washed it yesterday and put on the airer overnight but not quite dry this morning so a couple of hours outside should finish it off.
@Matron_Midge - you've done the right thing just drawn the line and straight back on plan. SW has to fit around our lives not the other way round! I had more syns than I should have done last night as once we'd shared the bottle of wine DH poured out a very large port to finish the bottle off - I have absolutely no idea how many syns that would have been! It is what it is and today is another day and definitely no alcohol!
Today's plan:
B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
L - toasted cheese sandwich - HEA2; HEB
D - lamb shanks, roast potatoes, green veg - S; F; 2. (no idea why but the Sainsbury lamb shanks with red wine gravy is lower syn than just the mint gravy!)
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - LF sausages 2; lamb shank 2
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all,
Sorry about the visit @bubbs - you did so well to stay on target with the food, and no-one could deny you the delicious Christmas cake. I'm sure I'd have eaten more than one slice if I were in similar circumstances. Sending hugs xx
The meal with friends sounds lovely @Matron_Midge and we can't help what others serve us. Glad you enjoyed it xx
I cooked the SW sweet and sour pork from the Extra Easy recipe book last night. It's DH's favourite meal and I have to say we all really enjoyed it. Loads of veg - sugar snap peas, yellow and red pepper, beansprouts, onion, carrot - and the sauce was very like UB's but a lot less sweet. Will make again.
We went out for friend's birthday last night and I had 3 rum n diet cokes. Late night but a great live band in the pub and they finished with a Status Quo song in my name, so we were all up dancing - body magic yay!
We are taking DS2 back to uni later and I'm popping in to see my Mum to see if I can fix a laptop issue she's having.
Today's food:
B - grilled bacon, poached egg, mushrooms, baked beans (courtesy of DH!!!) - all free
L - HEA cheese on WM toast - HEA/HEB
D - Kedgeree - free
HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar - 3
Have a good day everyone

@Coxy11 - Is the sweet and sour recipe Free? It sounds lovely. Not had a sweet and sour for ages, must remember to put it on the menu plan sometime soon. Could you post the recipe you used please as don't have that book. It's got a lot more veg in than the recipe I currently use.
