joedenise said:Glad somewhere has been found for your dad @bubbs. Shame it's further for your mum to go but it seems it's the only place for his condition so it's lucky they are able to take him but I can understand your worry but once he's there I'm sure he'll settle down with specialist help.
I know it's easy to say but try not to worry too much.
Good to see that you are sticking to plan at this difficult time but it is the only thing you are able to control at the moment.
Mum has to get a lift where ever he is whether it be one if us or the medical car, i am going Saturday i can't go in the week as need to pick DH up.
I said to Mum tonight he will think he is going home and then will be upset, she said no she will explain to him, it's to help him and get him better then he will be able to come home 🤞🤞
He was crying today she saidthe tears were rolling down his face, she asked him what the matter was and he said he didn't know, My Dad never cries
Dietician finally came to see them today, Mum said she couldn't help it and said a it late after 4 weeks especially when someone had allergiesSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
My dad used to cry too bubbs.
He would never ever have done that previously.

@bubbs
Sorry to hear about everything that's been going on.
Went to the dentist and did have a scale done. I am going back next Wednesday to have some filling done at the front. It's not the same as having a regular filling and it doesn't require numbing. As I had already paid the check up amount, it will only cost me about £40.
SW weigh in was a 2lb gain, which I'm quite happy with. I have not been since 22nd Dec, so not too bad.I thought I’d posted this but it was still left unposted!
have a great Friday everyone!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090 -
Morning everyone,
I’ve been AWOL these past two days as was in the London office and it’s tricky to post from there.
Some great losses to celebrate! Well done to @Single_Sue, @cherry_22 and @joedenise xx
I wouldn’t worry about the gain @Abbafan1972 – I think most people put on over Christmas. I put on 3.5lb!
@maman the dirty rice recipe in the Free Food A-Z book doesn’t use hot pepper sauce, only cajun seasoning. It’s free. I can post the recipe if anyone’s interested?
Sorry you’ve been feeling poorly @Jellybaby. I hope your parents are doing okay?
Glad they’ve found a place for your DDad @bubbs and that it’s funded. I hope he gets to move soon and begins to improve xx
If I hadn’t left my laptop in my locker I’d have WFH yesterday as woke up with a migraine. Felt absolutely terrible and it took me 45 minutes to get dressed as was so nauseous. I didn’t have anything to take in for breakfast and would usually have bought some fruit salad etc from M&S but just wanted something plain, so I bought a plain pretzel – 15.5 syns. Didn’t have any syns after that as took grapes, satsuma, cherries and a pot of lo chilli con carne for lunch. Dinner was Beef creole stir fry from the One For All book.
Today’s food will be:
B – poached egg, mushrooms, spinach, 1 x WM toast – P, S, ½ HEB
L – LO beef creole stir fry - free
D – Easy chicken curry (50 golden greats book), rice – free
HEA – milk
½ HEB – hi fi bar
Syns - rum n pepsi max - 3

Morning all, still negative and feeling slightly better. Drank so much water was up more than usual to the loo during the night so could do with another couple of hours in bed but work calls hey ho.
It's good a place is available for your dad @bubbs and it will be upsetting settling him in but hopefully all will settle once a new routine is started. I'm in awe of your abilities to stay on track as well. Look after yourself too, take care x
You'll lose the gain @Abbafan1972 and considering it includes Christmas it's not a lot - I put on double that 😂 Hope you feel better today @Coxy11
Only managed a small portion of the chilli last night so have most of it today for lunch.
Today's food:
B - baked oats made in a muffin tray so 6 small individual pieces I'll eat throughout the morning with fruit
L - l/o chilli with salad
D - blackened salmon, potato slices, carrots, tenderstem and sweetcorn
Have a good day everyone0 -
@maman and @joedenise I honestly think its just everything sneaking up in price after christmas
Having a look at my receipt for last week, I'd ended up spending more but cashed some nectar points in so that's why last week's shop ended up cheaper, mystery solved! So I did end up spending less which is what I'd wanted. I'm really trying to lower our food spends more, we used to spend a lot on crisps and snacks so with us both eating healthier at least that's gone down a lot - it's all a work in progress.
@bubbs that food looks lovely as always, can almost taste that sweet and sour
@Jellybaby thats reminded me I need to try baked oats one time, I get bored with the same old breakfasts
Have a good Friday everyone
£1 a day for 2023 #58 £165/£3650 -
I think you've probably already lost some of the Christmas gain @Abbafan1972 by getting back on plan. You'll soon see off the 2lbs and more! 😊
Yes please for the dirty rice recipe @Coxy11. I'd like to see the one you used. Glad you're OK as had noticed you didn't post.
Sorry you're so tired but from SW point of view, drinking loads is excellent @Jellybaby. Hope it works.🤞🏼
Thanks for the feedback on the shopping @cherry_22. I have some vouchers for Sainsbury's but I'm being careful what I buy in there as I like to do most of my shop in Aldi. The price matched things are good value. The sweet and sour @bubbs uses is the Ben's jar of reduced sugar sauce at 6 syns for the whole jar. It's on offer at £1.50 in Sainsbury's at the moment but it's often hard to track down the reduced sugar one.
I've done my meal plan and shopping list for later. So far I've just used 1 syn from this week's bank of 105 but will make up for that later tonight. TGIF!😁
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs (P)
L- cold meat (P), hash of bits left in fridge (F,S), beetroot (S)
D- chicken stir fry (P,S), noodles (F)
Syns- honey in sauce 2.5, weekend wine🥰

DH ate my lunch of leftovers from last night! I had my breakfast about 10.30am so wasn't all that hungry at lunchtime. I went out to post a couple of bay of E sales and picked up a pot of prepped mango from Sains. Also had some crab sticks and have just had my hi fi bar with a nice coffee.
Will post the recipe in a bit @maman.
