That's good that proper care is being offered at last @bubbs. I think delirium is common with infection and your dad seems to have got caught up in the environment. 🤞a place is available very soon.
I'm not surprised you're feeling under the weather. You've had all this upset and you're only just getting over Covid yourself. Take care. 🤗1 -

Morning all.Hope everyone is well. I have managed to skim through the posts.
@bubbs I hope everything gets sorted with your Dad.I have a day off work today, but it’s an “unofficial” day off - our manager lets us have an extra birthday day off, but obviously not on our actual birthday. My birthday is later this month on a Saturday. So usually we have our extra day and then book off our actual birthday through the holiday system. I do have a couple of things to do today, a progress meeting at my daughters college and then the dentist, as I haven’t been for a while and about a week ago I got a text from them to say exactly that, so I decided to ring and book an appointment for a check up. I didn’t want to get chucked off their books and then find myself without a dentist, as they can be hard to get into these days. I do begrudge the amount you have to pay for a check up and they don’t do anything except for look in your mouth for about 30 seconds and tell you aren’t brushing enough. Not even a scale and polish, as I think that is more money now? Rant over, lol!Anyway - have a good day all. Will update you later on my weigh in result at group tonight. First one since 22nd December.XxStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
Morning all, looks really windy this morning and I think there's rain forecast later this morning. We'll be eating out at lunchtime again today but suspect it won't be SW friendly as it will be at the hospital as DH has an appointment at 12.20 and they only do snacks and sandwiches - not even jacket potatoes!
Good news about your dad @bubbs; hopefully they'll find somewhere quickly and not too far away. He should also get fed his proper diet as well without the problems he's had in hospital. I'm sure he'll settle there better as well with having his own room.
@Abbafan1972 - just ask your dentist to do a scale and polish it is included in the price of the level 1 treatment. I got mine done last time I went. They probably won't do it every time as it's not really very good for your teeth as they use an abrasive paste. If it's anything like my dentist he tries to persuade me every time to pay £70 to get it done by the private hygienist who is employed by the practice! Quite honestly I really don't understand why NHS dentists are so reluctant to do it themselves. Depending on how bad the tartar is you might need to make a follow up appointment but if it's not too bad then they may do it there and then.
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash - P; S; F
L - at hospital, sandwich?
D - liver, bacon, mash, veg - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEB - bread?
Syns - depends what I have lunchtime!
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone
Did my food shop this morning, somehow ended up spending more than last week after reverse meal planning which is a bit of a head scratcher as I definitely bought less. Will have to go through my receipt later and work out where it's all gone. It's very annoying that it seems to cost more to eat healthy than if I was just buying junk and ready meals.
Sorting the food cupboard was such a mammoth task and and I did my freezer at same time too. Feel so much better being able to see at a glance what I have, it was all a bit of a state!
Today's food
B- fruit and yoghurt (0.5) cuppa using HEA
L- bacon and tomato sandwich HEB with butter (2)
D- macaroni cheese with leeks from SW website with veg/salad
Syns: options (2) there may be others!£1 a day for 2023 #58 £165/£3650 -
Afternoon all,
I'm not feeling great today - a bit shaky and really cold. Don't think the weather is helping, it's really dark, cold and very, very wet. Tested this morning just to be on the safe side and thankfully still covid-free. Left some provisions for the parents on their door step last night and mum seemed much brighter.
Only had some tea and toast so far and dinner is chilli with rice and salad but will see how I feel later.
Cupboard and freezer stock-take definitely needed as I've paid for annual car insurance, new guttering and my nephew's 18th birthday present in the last hour 😒

Good idea to test @Jellybaby but hope you feel better very soon. 😊
We don't have a NHS dentist @Abbafan1972 as ours went private years ago so you were wise to make sure you stay in touch. Fortunately a hygienist appointment is now included in the cover we now have but at a price of course. Happy Birthday for when it comes up! What a kind boss you have.
Some junk foods can be cheaper @cherry_22 but it is possible to do SW and eat healthily quite frugally. Probably the only thing I buy specially for SW is Frylight. At the moment I'm working through a stock I bought on offer but the Aldi equivalent is just as good and hugely cheaper. When you've looked at your receipts, let us know where the big spends are. Of course, it could be that everything's going up at the moment.🤔
I've got exactly a week until I have to go to WI. Although I always post my menus on here I am going to keep a food diary this week to make sure I account for every syn. Yesterday I ate a handful of crisps. DH had opened a large packet and left them on the side and I just couldn't resist.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- mackerel in mustard sauce with salad (P,S), lentil and veg soup (P,S)
D- sausage, mash, LO gravy (F), carrots, onions, cauli, broccoli, cabbages (S)
Syns- Aldi sausages 10 -
Didn't end up eating in the hospital cafe in the end as the cooked food just didn't smell very nice at all so we left and went to a pub where I had a not particularly SW friendly lunch of pork loin, saute potatoes, mange tout, carrots & apple sauce - there was definitely syns for oil particularly the potatoes but I'm not too fussed as not planning on weighing this week and will just rein it back in the rest of the week.
Will be interesting to see what's cost you so much extra this week @cherry_22.0 -
Evening all
Thanks everyone, really struggled today 😪 i think because i am so worried when they move him he will think he is going home and he is not 😫😫
The place where he is going is the only place in the county that deals with it so we are very lucky there, for me it's about the same distance , further for Mum
Food today

Glad somewhere has been found for your dad @bubbs. Shame it's further for your mum to go but it seems it's the only place for his condition so it's lucky they are able to take him but I can understand your worry but once he's there I'm sure he'll settle down with specialist help.
I know it's easy to say but try not to worry too much.
Good to see that you are sticking to plan at this difficult time but it is the only thing you are able to control at the moment.
