Pomegranate seeds are goof in any type of salad @Coxy11 - a little punch of something sweet yet slightly sour.  My American friends always moan about how UK salads don't have fruit in them, so I've now started to add apple to mine and it does make things taste better!

Glad you're feeling better today @annabanana82

Pomegranate seeds are only Free @Coxy11 and not Speed.  I usually buy them frozen as it's too much faff to get them out of the whole fruits!  They never seem to come out when I tap with a wooden spoon which is the suggested way of getting them out.  I sometimes throw a handful on porridge or in a bowl of frozen mixed fruit with yoghurt (all defrosted).  They'd work in overnight oats as well.

Seems like yours are fresh so would suggest open freezing them so that you don't have to use them all at once or even all at the same time!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I will use some today in the cous cous salad and freeze the remainder  :)

  • Hi all,

My day in town was cut short as two hours of tattoo time for my Daughter was enough - she's feeling a bit sore now!

It did mean that I had no scone or doughnut, so a treat to have later in the week.
I had planned on buying jeans, but I've got some gorgeous dungarees instead, I love them, my Husband hates them 😆😔I could have had a 12 but they were a smidge tight but very happy with a comfy size 14.

Hope you all have a good day too

Comfort is far more important than what the size label says!  Don't think I could risk dungarees these days - often need to get to the loo quickly (TMI!)!

Hmm, I didn't consider that aspect,  perhaps should have. Its so strange buying clothes now. I head for 16+ and my Husband will be there saying you don't need that size anymore

Well done on treating yourself @annabanana82. 👍 Sizing varies so much between brands so I wouldn't worry about buying a 14. I have everything from a 10 to a 16 in my wardrobe. 😁

I went to Sainsburys and got a gammon joint and Asda for the beef. I haven't carved it up yet but will definitely get 2 small joints and some cubes. I noticed @bubbs that Asda had the Ben's NAS sweet and sour at 2 for £3. Not as cheap as offers used to be but a good saving.

I like pomegranate too. When we were children, my mam used to cut one in half for me and my brother and give us a pin. Kept us quiet for hours eating one seed at a time! 🤣

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, 2 eggs (P), baked beans (F)
L- ham (P), fried veg and pickles (S)
    D- lambchop person hotpot (P, S, F), cauli, broccoli, cabbages (S)
    Syns - cornflour 1

Denise we didn't have chunky cottage pie, bloody hell would have been WW3 🤣🤣 i made a stew for lunches.

Maman we used to have them with a pin as well 🤣

Dad has moved and Mum said he looks better than he has looked for a long time 😁😁 The man from the home that came to asses him Thursday said he is even better than when he saw him then. He also said i don't think he will be here long 4/5 weeks at the most as otherwise they get  institutionalised .

He has settled well went to the dining room for his tea, when he arrived they gave him loads of snacks , he ate those, ate his lunch .
He said to Mum this shirt is not mine, Mum said it is we bought you some new ones.
He also is from here originally, looked out the window and said we are in Duston which is part of the town.
They are going to take him to the dentist as well

    Mum sounded so happy
