maman said:I loved Amsterdam too. Just before Covid, we went to Holland a second time but stayed in Leiden to learn about the Mayflower. Did a day trip into Amsterdam as I wanted to visit Rijkmuseum again as it's been refurbished. Not disappointed, as the building is as beautiful as the artwork. Also love the canal houses with the varied roofs. 😊
Otherwise I'd recommend Italy. Florence and Venice are great but I enjoyed Verona, allegedly the home of Romeo and Juliet so perfect for a romantic anniversary celebration @annabanana82 . 😍 Or Paris? 🤔

Morning everyone,
Well done on your loss @joedenise that's fantastic. Sounds like you've a few busy weeks ahead!
Definitely try your DMums air fryer @Abbafan1972 if she doesn't use it.
Really saddened about Paul O'G - he came across as such a lovely man.
Well the work event happened..... I hardly slept on Tuesday as was so stressed. Got to the venue at 10am for an 11am start as I wanted to check the tech worked. Had 3 guys there who had set up a mixing desk, cameras, etc. and who were initially very helpful but who sat through the entire day not helping at all when things went a bit dodgy including those at home unable to hear a video I was streaming. I also ended up being compere WITH A MICROPHONE(!!!) as bosses sat in the audience. Could feel myself going greyer by the minute. The venue staff were quite rude to some of my colleagues when the lunch was being served so I'm going to give some feedback today as it was over £10k for the day and really not value for money. Ended up going for a drink (just the one) afterwards at 4pm as was much needed!
My home scales are saying I'm at the top end of my target range. I'm not sure whether to weigh on Saturday - will depend what the scales say on Saturday morning! I am then away on my JoGLE walk for two weeks which will be 'eat whatever I can find on the go'. Is it 8 weeks or 6 weeks for target members - can anyone remind me please?
Food today:
B - poached egg, spinach, mushrooms, 1 x WM toast - P, S, 1/2 HEB
L - JP, tuna, LTL mayo, tomatoes, pickles - 1.5, P, S
D - SW prawn and chilli spaghetti - free
HEA - milk
1/2 HEB - skinny crunch bar
Syns - 1.5

Good morning all.@bubbs regarding the ice cream maker. Don’t worry, I forget about some questions as well and I forget who is who sometimes!I mentioned the ice cream maker to DH and he said can’t we just carry on buying ice cream from the shop.To whoever said it’s their Birthday tomorrow (see I’ve forgot already who that was), Happy Birthday for tomorrow. It’s my youngest DD’s birthday tomorrow as well. She was going to Manchester for a couple of nights but now they’re just going on a night out in Birmingham, which I’m relieved about.Regarding the air fryer. My Mom asked me to order it for her as she saw something on a cookery programme. We have had a look at it recently and she cooked some chips in it. That was the first time she’d used it, even though she had it about 2 years and never took it out the box. She does this with things, sees it on a programme, buys it and then can’t be bothered to learn how to use it. She bought herself a laptop and hardly ever used it, always got me to do anything online for her. She gave it to my daughter and she used it for a while for college work. Now the laptop is old and out of date, just sitting in it’s bag, we gave it her back. I don’t think my Dad would be happy if we had the air fryer. I think she would want money for it anyway. And I know it would be an excuse, so she doesn’t have to learn it. I bought her a cook book for Christmas as well.ETA:- I gave my Mom a Chromebook to use to go on the internet. Have showed her how to use it, she says she’s used it but suspect she hasn’t.WI tonight. Not sure how that will pan out.Am going to the pharmacy later, as my eye has been really sore the last couple of days and not sure if I have conjunctivitis. 😢

Congratulations on the losses @beanielou and @joedenise, also great news that cat is back home safe. @Coxy11 gosh you earned your salary and some with the event.
@bubbs your meals look lish, as usual.
Another 0.5lb lost at WI Tuesday evening, can feel the difference in the waistband of my jeans already.
Messy day's eating yesterday as we went off to try and identify a suitable new vac, criteria being not too heavy or cumbersome for me with RA, but needing good suction and hair removing capability to deal with fall our for new dog, found one that we liked, then to find it was OOS at shop and everywhere online too, after much comparing of specs (so many models!!) said thing ordered and money paid over last night.
Off to tot up yesterday's syns and plan something for taking with me to craft get together later.
Have the best day all.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Morning all, well done on your loss @maddiemay and great that your jeans feel looser already.
Well done @beanielou on your loss too and for the good wishes for my birthday tomorrow.
@maman - I know I could just leave going to WI until after my holidays but if I do that it means going as soon as I'm back so I'd rather go this week and hope I can pick sensibly when we go out to the Indian tomorrow night and then rein it back the rest of the week! Depending on where the scales are on Wednesday then I will decide whether or not to go the week after (I will if I need to get back into target because I've gone out!!!). I'm thinking I could even book one week of my holiday as Holiday which would then give me another 8 weeks before WI! Will just have to decide what I'm going to do over the next few days.
@Coxy11 - that sounds like it was a day from hell for you. Those tech guys obviously didn't do a very good job and to just sit there when there were problems is completely wrong - surely that's why they stayed all day! Well done on doing the best you could given the circumstances. Definitely complain as a very expensive day. It wasn't the QEII Conference Centre by any chance was it? We had problems there when we hired it for the day years ago - fortunately it wasn't something I was involved in arranging!
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs and spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
L - half avocado, seafood salad - P; S; F; 5
D - HB braised steak, mash, veg - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - 50g avocado 5
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all,
Well done to all the losers 👍
That sounds like a nightmare of a day @Coxy11 I worked in an event management roll many years ago but had to move to something else as it was just too stressful!
Meeting a friend for lunch today but already thinking baked potato with tuna, just need to make sure that's what I ask for when it comes to ordering!
Today's food:
B - banana and coffee (don't feel hungry this morning)
L - baked potato, tuna and salad
D - homemade burgers, wholemeal roll (HEB), roasted veg, cheese (HEA2), pickles
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all - oh dear @Coxy11 - hope you're getting a bit of rest today. I was going to ask if it was the QEII centre as well @joedenise 😆 don't think anyone's ever had a good experience there.
Well done on the loss @maddiemay
@Abbafan1972 I have the instant pot air fryer / pressure cooker / slow cooker 15 in 1 thing and really like it. It's great if you want to consolidate all your kitchen gadgets (I bought it because we needed a new slow cooker and I wanted an air fryer but didn't have the space for two of them) but I do sometimes wish the air fryer basket was a little bigger. Still it's perfect for the two of us - and just air frying things in general is really great, so much so that I rarely use our oven anymore.
Been feeling a little under the weather for a few days (had something like strep throat) and then woke up this morning with a full on streaming / blocked nose. Don't think it's hay fever but have taken a tablet just in case as well as the cold and flu meds in the hope that something will make me feel better!
Had some granola and blueberries for breakfast to snack on, lunch is another portion of the chicken and parsnip casserole (DH couldn't bring himself to try it 😆) and dinner will probably be soup from the freezer as something quick and easy.
Hope everyone has a good day!

I did change my mind for lunch😁 and ended up ordering a gammon steak, baked potato and salad. Friend is a pudding fiend but we were too stuffed (thankfully!) so just had a black coffee to finish.0

Well done on your loss @maddiemay.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 It's obviously working for you even though you've been using stuff up and haven't much to lose.
I'm glad you were able to order your cleaner in the end. Eating on the move is always a problem with SW, it's surprising how little healthy food is readily available. Everything seems to involve bread or pastry. Like @jellybaby said, a jacket potato is often a good bet.
Sorry to hear your event was so stressful @Coxy11 but at least it's over and you can leave work behind and enjoy (🤔?) your walk. Like @joedenise is planning, see what your scales say before deciding whether to go to WI tomorrow. It's 8 weeks for target members between WI. If you were out of target tomorrow, you'd have a problem with not being around next week . That's a grace week (you have a week to get back to target range before you pay) but not sure if it's possible to book grace week as a holiday.
You've had a stressful few weeks too @ruby_eskimo, maybe that's why you're under the weather.🤗
There seems to be a lot of politics involved with your mother @Abbafan1972.🤣 I'd assumed she'd just give you the air fryer as she isn't using it. Probably best to buy your own although it does seem a waste of money.
I made some vegetable soup in the slow cooker yesterday. I had loads of carrots and some new potatoes I wanted to use up so that was a portion for today and some for the freezer.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, baked beans (F), egg, bacon (P)
L- beef and vegetable soup (P,S,F)
D- sausages, mash, LO gravy (F), onions, cauli, broccoli, carrots
Syns- Aldi sausages 10 -
Hi everyone. Whoops lots to catch up on! Another STS for me this week which I'm frankly over the moon about as I had a bad weekend food-wise. Thought I was heading for my first gain. OH is doing good although he's not weighing himself every week but is another 3lb down from 2 weeks ago and 1lb away from his lightest weight in years so he's understandably very chuffed. Its his birthday today and the poor thing has to work so we celebrated yesterday.
Hope you have a great birthday tomorrow @joedenise well done on your loss too. Congrats other losers I hope to be joining you all next week.£1 a day for 2023 #58 £165/£3650
