Morning all. Yay for the escape artist returning @beanielou and well done on the loss this week.
Managed to get out for a walk last night and felt a lot better for it, especially with the sunshine. Had porridge for breakfast with half a banana, lunch is the next portion of chicken and parsnip casserole (it was very yummy!) and dinner tonight is a tofu and kimchi fried rice with some miso soup (just trying to use things up at the moment!)

Well done on the losses @annabanana82 and @beanielou
My mood matches the weather this morning - it's cold, dark and rainy! Think I might be coming down with something just feel so tired, early night for me I think.
Today's plan:
B - Kvarg (0.5 syn) with strawberries and nectarines
L - soft pitta, smoked ham, salad and pickles
D - salmon, new potatoes, loads of roasted veg
Have a good day all.0 -
Morning all, been a busy one this morning with prepping both lunch and dinner. Should have prepped dinner last night but the chicken breast hadn't defrosted as I didn't get it out early enough but it's done now.
Well done @beanielou on a great loss, particularly as you weren't looking forward to WI! You'll get to that next stone bracket soon. You lose really well when you stick to plan and it sounds as though your head is back in the game so good luck.
@annabanana82 - it's very frustrating to keep losing and gaining the same half pound but it will come off and you'll get that 5 stone award soon. Good luck that it happens this week!
The chicken and parsnip casserole sounds nice, glad you enjoyed it. Did your DH have some last night? I know you said it smelt nice when it was cooking.
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash topped with eggs - P; S; F
L - Thai chicken burger and salad in WM roll with chilli cucumbers and lime mayo - HEB; P; S; 2
D - Butter chicken and rice - P; S; F; 3
HEA - milk
HEB - WM roll
Syns - Light mayo 2; butter 3
Bit of spicy chicken overload today but needed to change things around a bit and both chicken thighs and breast need using up. I'm determined to empty my outside freezer before we go on holiday so I can defrost it! Will just use the inside fridge/freezer when we get back as we're off again for all of June! If I can manage that then may well get rid of the chest freezer and maybe replace it with an undercounted sized upright outside to hold the HM ready meals and a couple of loaves of bread!
Have a good day everyone.

Well done @beanielou and @annabanana82.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You sound so much more upbeat today @beanielou. What a difference a cat makes! 😁
I think you've done brilliantly to get so close to 5st @annabanana82. It's quite usual to hit a bit of a plateau. I think bodies get used a new normal. Perhaps try a bit of a shake up with some different recipes or range of Speed food? 🤔 I'm certainly not believing that losing 5 stone hasn't made a huge difference!🤣
Hope you feel better soon @Jellybaby. Well done for sticking to plan and not comfort eating to raise your mood (which it won't😉).
I'm curious about whether your DH tried the parsnips too @ruby_eskimo. Fortunately, we both love them here. 😋
I have two under the counter freezers in the kitchen @joedenise. We did away with the garage chest freezer when it expired but I found one indoors wasn't enough. Plans are afoot to extend the kitchen so I'll have to rethink as I'd have space for a taller/bigger one but not sure I want that. 🤔
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- cold chicken (P), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- Tom Kerridge bacon and broccoli pasta (P,F,S)
Syns- 00 -
I've just realised that I can quite easily replace the outside chest freezer with an under counter one in my utility area! We got rid of the dishwasher a while ago so there is a space where that was which I could fit one in. That would be far better than an outside one which I'm sure costs more to run than a smaller one indoors would! Will have to investigate that. Will need to find somewhere to put my vegetable rack though as I've got that in there now!
I bought some beef stewing steaks when I went shopping yesterday and had planned on making a stew with them but have decided I'm going to do the HB braised steaks instead as the steak looks far too nice to just chop up and use in a stew! Hopefully I can get away with cutting each of the steaks in half so I get 2 meals out of it which of course I could do easily if I made a stew!

That's a good idea @joedenise. You'll find it so much easier. I was never very good at keeping the chest freezer tidy but my under the counter ones have drawers and I know exactly what's in each of them. 😊
Hope you do manage to get two meals from the steak. I often split the meat like that especially with some enormous chicken breasts. After all, padding out with Speed veg is perfect for SW! 🤣0 -
So true. There will be plenty of onions, garlic, mushrooms etc!
Agree with you that drawers in a freezer are much easier to keep under control than a chest freezer!

Hello everyone,
Sorry for being MIA. I was in London Wednesday and Thursday then DH and I flew to Marrakech on Friday for his 50th. We got home today. We had a lovely time. All inclusive hotel (a first for us) but we did have lunch at the market on Sunday and lunch in the Atlas mountains on Monday (his actual birthday). I'm not going to pretend I was on plan - I did make sure to have fruit with breakfast and salad/veg and lean meat for lunch and dinner BUT there was cake and alcohol involved. We managed to walk 19k steps on Sunday and 11k yesterday (up to the waterfalls, so quite challenging terrain) so at least that was something. I daren't weigh myself just yet.... We had a beef stir fry tonight and I've planned meals for the remainder of this week. We have family coming over on Saturday, so need to plan that at some point.
I'm currently having huge anxiety over work tomorrow as we have a staff event at an hotel which I organised before going on leave. Just hoping it all works out okay tomorrow but can already tell I'm not going to sleep well. Think I'll try for a nice Epsom salts bath, face mask and bed by 10pm.
Glad to hear your cat has returned @beanielou - what a relief xx
Sorry to not keep up with news from abroad but the wifi was very patchy even at the hotel complex.
Have a good evening everyone
