@maddiemay - I would  make a vegetable tart and portion it up for the freezer.  Make as many portions as you can out of it so that the syns aren't too high.  You can then eat it with more vegetables or with some salad to make it a more filling meal.  Not very MSE to throw food away.

If you spread eating the tart out over several weeks it probably wouldn't work out too high in syns each week.  Assuming you could cut it into 8 pieces you could spread the syns over 8  (one piece a week) or even 16 weeks (one piece a fortnight).

    Morning all (just!)

Good to hear you had a nice break away @maman - Belfast is on my very long list of places to go

Congrats on the loss @bubbs - I'm exhausted just taking my dad to the hospital once a week, so your mum has done an amazing job coping for so long.  Hope it's not too much longer before your dad is settled in a better environment for him.

Been a bit MIA last week as wasn't feeling too great (think I had burnt myself out a little to be honest!) and as a result have put on a pound this week.  Have 17lbs to go till target now and determined to try and get there this year, although without putting too much pressure on myself.

Starting strong today with ff yogurt, blueberries and granola for breakfast.  My mum gave me loads of parsnips last week but DH doesn't eat them, so I've found a recipe for a chicken and parsnip casserole with a honey mustard stock which is bubbling away in the slow cooker for my lunches this week and I'll chuck some frozen green beans in to up the veg content in there.  DH commented that it smells really good so maybe he'll change his mind on parsnips if he tries a bit 😆  Dinner tonight is a veggie curry with carrot, onion and cauliflower and I'll make a salad to go alongside (see I really am trying to get more veggies in!)

We saw some friends on Friday night who randomly gave me a 1kg bag of mini eggs 😳  I love mini eggs so I'm trying to be disciplined and not devour the entire bag in one go.  8 eggs is about 6 syns, so limiting myself to one portion a day in an effort to try and be good but also enjoying the little treat every evening!

Hope you're all having a good day and a good start to the week.

Back again!  Change of plan for lunch as decided it's too warm for soup with the sun shining so we're going to have salad of some sort - I've got boiled eggs in the fridge so I'll have that.  Think DH may well have sardines with his.

@ruby_eskimo - try freezing your mini eggs in portions then just take out one lot at a time, perhaps in the morning to eat in the evening or get them out at night to defrost overnight.  I much prefer cold chocolate!

Glad the cat is back @beanielou.  Just draw the line and jump back on plan you've got a few days to rein it back in before your WI.

Well done @bubbs, hope you enjoyed your pudding. Another 5 syns. 👍

Glad to hear your mum can get transport when none of you are available. Far better than trekking on buses. Still wearing for her though, she doesn't get much time to herself. Would your dad be OK if you went on your own? 🤔

I thought of having Yorkshires with my dinner but plate was full enough. I did have a tsp of horseradish though. 😋
@bubbs what was in your pudding? It looks lovely.
    Evening all :)

Yes Maman Dad is ok if 1 person goes but i can't go in the week, Mum cannot go on the bus if she wanted to, 1) they are very few and far between , 2) she cannot walk that far.

Really good news about your cat @beanielou. 👍

17lbs is very doable for the rest of the year @ruby_eskimo. That's only about half an pound a week. Go for it! 😁

It'll get much easier when you've seen off the food you had in already @maddiemay. I'm pleased your friend is more accepting now but do explain to her it's not a diet in the usual sense. I'm sure she'll be told that if she joins a group.

I cleared the washing too today @joedenise and it all dried. I think if it was me I'd have had salad AND soup for lunch. 😁

Is that soft cheese on your baked sweet potato @bubbs? It looks delicious. 😋

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, fried eggs, bacon (P), HEA milk for drinks
    L- cold chicken (P), 2 potatoes (F), fried veg and beetroot (S)
D- baked salmon (P), chips (F), cauli, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, courgette (S)
    Syns - 0

  • Hi all,

Hope you've all had a good day, glad your cat is home @beanielou

WI tonight and the 1/2lb that went on last week came off this week. Still 1/2lb off my 5st maybe next week...

Meals for the week all planned out, no naughty treats in the house.

I am feeling a little fed up, not so much not getting my 5st, but more being stuck in this stone bracket, I want a new front number, each one I get I feel a little more normal, feel I'm not judged so much, but now I've been around this weight awhile, I almost feel as big as I did when I was at my heaviest, and my stomach just looks so big still - I can't see that another 2st is going to change it.

I do know most that last paragraph was me catastrophising and I've made a huge achievement, just doesn't always feel that way

On the brightside, I have 4 days left of work then a good two weeks off and plenty of time for some body magic - and no work
