Welcome @maddiemay; I must have been typing when you posted as I missed it.

It wouldn't be very MSE if you didn't use up the high syn food you already have.  The best advice I can give you is to try and include as much Speed fruit and veg as you can alongside your high syn stuff.  Have you registered your card on the website and downloaded the app?  You will find both of these really useful.  Personally I prefer the website but that's probably because I started SW when there wasn't an app!  I only really use the app if I want to check the syns of something with the barcode scanner.

It might help you to post your menu plans so please do if you think it might help.

Good luck for your first week.

That's exactly the right attitude @Jellybaby. STS just means you haven't lost YET. 👍

Well done for staying on plan and not letting the disappointment derail you. It always surprises me when people think that nothing is synned on WI days. 🤣 I used to know someone who always went to the chippy on the way back from WW!

Football was excellent today, well worth the half Crunchie! ❤️⚽
You'd hate me, we have WI day as an off plan day each week. I've always done it, no matter which plan I have been following and is part of my secret of staying on it for the long haul and not going off the rails. All those temptations we have during the week I can put off in my mind as being patient and saving for 'treat' day but which then don't get consumed because the temptation or yearning has long since passed.

When I was at WW, it was once said to me that my weight loss would have been faster (it wasn't exactly slow in the first place), if I had just stayed on plan all the time. My response was that had I done that, I would have failed in the first month as I would have fallen off the wagon and then felt the week was lost and given up.

It works for us, it may not work for others but it keeps us steady and losing weight.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Welcome @maddiemay. Good to see you posting.

You'll soon get your head around the plan, it's really just a simple formula for healthy eating. If you think of a traditional meal like meat (Protein), potatoes (Free Food) and veg (Speed Food) then the plan requires a balance of the three with at least a third being Speed like greens or some fruits. The syns (stands for synergy not naughty stuff) are treats. These are things like cakes, biscuits, chocolates, fatty foods, alcohol which we all know should be limited. This includes, not just snacks but, adding things like fats to meals by deep frying etc. The healthy extras are to make sure you get enough fibre and calcium on a daily basis.

@joedenise is right and it wouldn't be very mse to waste the food you already have in but try to use it up as syns or  feed it to someone else!🤣

I do understand your strategy @SingleSue. I, too, like something to look forward to  which is why I find the syn bank works for me. The SW plan works on the premise that everyone wants/needs 15 (or fewer) syns worth of treats every day. That's true of some people who enjoy perhaps a daily bag of crisps, chocolate bar or single glass of wine (🤔) but I'm happy to put off my treats to the weekend and not feel restricted to 15. It's not the official way but it's worked for me from the beginning.

Hope you get your walk in @Jellybaby. It's a lovely day here.

We're having lamb shanks today. Aldi didn't have any in stock so I bought them in Sainsbury's as I really fancied trying them since @Coxy11 had them the other day. I've defrosted some turkey mince too as I want to make more meatballs. I like to cook them then freeze so I can just reheat in the pasta sauce when needed. I'll do them when the oven is on for the lamb and potatoes.😇

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, baked beans (F), bacon and fried egg (P), HEA milk
L- LO casserole and veg (P,F,S)
D- lamb shanks (P), SW roast potatoes (F), many veg (S)
Syns- lamb shanks 2, weekend wine😊

Really pleased to have managed to get 3 loads of washing dried including the towels and bedding.  For a change the wash bin is completely empty.  It's been a lovey day here.

I like the frozen Iceland lamb shanks @maman which you can either boil in the bag or microwave but we actually prefer them microwaved which only takes 12 minutes for 2 so saving power too.

I've got some mince out as was going to make some mini meat loaves but think I'm going to take a leaf out of your book and make some meat balls to freeze.  Not made them for ages!  The oven needs to go on for the roast potatoes and veg anyway so might as well.

    Hi all,

    Welcome @maddiemay x

When I talk about target I mean the weight that was registered when I called it last week. I was 2lb over that weight yesterday so within target range - sorry if I confused anyone with my worries!

The tech let us down yesterday - scales and iPad weren’t communicating. Pay iPad was fine but slow …. I’m not at group next Saturday as will
be in Marrakech. The lady who does pay with me only weighs in every 6 weeks but does pay every weeks so depending how I feel I might only weigh every 6 weeks from now on. Consultant doesn’t seem too bothered.

Today I’ve done the food shop, dusted and vacuumed plus done 2 loads of washing. DH has cleaned the kitchen and both cars. I’m now having a rest. I loathe MDay with a passion!

    Have a good evening all.

I thought you probably meant your actual target rather than the +/- 3lbs range @Coxy11. You should be fine with the 7 weeks left to have time to get back on plan after your holiday and your walk. 😊

DD1 came round earlier with flowers. I thought I'd share my card from DD2, especially for @Abbafan1972 but I'm a bit of a Dancing Queen too! 😁

I enjoyed the lamb shank, DH not so much. He said his was fatty and little meat. Mine was fine. But he's always fussy!  He always picks over any meat or fish looking for fat or bones. 🤣

I like my gravy so stretched it with a tsp of cornflour and some vegetable stock. I'm ignoring the extra one third of a syn! 🤣
