Back from WI and not happy at all- it was another STS.  Usually when I do a food diary I get a good loss!  Consultant said the plan was very good and I'd had plenty of Speed.  She's suggested I do an SP week - I've said I'll it a go but probably won't be able to do a full week as I always feel hungry when I've done it in the past.  I've bought some "carbs" Speed veg like butternut squash and swede.  Obviously won't be able to have my grapes of an evening but I've got some Speed fruit I can have instead.  Meant to buy some quark after group and completely forgot!

@maman there's a syn free onion gravy on the SW website - it's a bit of a palaver but you could make it in bulk and freeze some.

  • My syn free gravy,

I boil, carrots, onions and potatoes until soft, not too much water. Add a couple of stock cubes and blitz until smooth, add seasoning, I mistakenly added marmite but it gave it a bit of a kick. I'm going to have a go at batch cooking this in my soup maker.

I guess you can add veg to your taste.

Official weigh in day today...I lost 4.5lbs over the last 3 weeks and middle son 4lbs. I've now lost 3 stone 6lbs and middle son picked up his 4 and a half stone award.

We were also nominated for and won Couple of the year.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I will be going to WI on Saturday @maman. Only changes so far have been Sunday when I had an extra HEB plus some extra syns. Yesterday I had pasta with lunch and rice for dinner. I wouldn't normally have both in one day. Other than that, not a lot of change really (still haven't started filling in the book......)

Oh what a PITA @joedenise! Good luck with your SP week. I'm not sure I could do that, maybe a couple of days but not a whole week!

Well done @SingleSue and son - amazing losses and whoohoo to Couple of the Year - very well deserved xx

Have been very MIA this week had a lot going on (work stuff nothing exciting 😅) I'm also in the STS gang with you @joedenise but mine is definitely from a lack of speed this week. It must be so frustrating for you though when you know you've done everything right. Good luck with the SP.

Well done @SingleSue and son that's amazing for you both.

Will definitely try that syn free gravy!

Have a good evening everyone and hopefully catch up properly soon x

I didn't do an SP day today as didn't have stuff in to be able to do it and also had some things which needed using up including half tin of potatoes.

I've bought some extra Speed veg - carrots, swede, butternut squash and I already had a celeriac in the fridge which my friend gave me the other day as it was "out of date"!  Nothing wrong with it and still wrapped in it's shrink wrap covering!  There's going to be some carrot and butternut squash chips; carrot and  swede mash and some celeriac mash.

I think I need lots of luck with SP - going to do as many days as I can but not sure I can do the full week (apart from today!).

Well done @SingleSue and son - you're both doing really well.

@cherry_22 - at least you know why you had STS due to lack of speed; I've no idea why mine was STS as definitely had a very full "box" on the food diary.  Today's food sheet hasn't actually got much in the way of Protein today but then it was a bit of a "junk food" day really.

    Morning all,

Good luck with SP today @joedenise, sounds like you're raring to go with it!
Hopefully more speed food will give you a loss next week @cherry_22 but don't been too disheartened with a STS x

I had a really early night last night. DH went to a quiz with the pub boys so I had a bath at 8.45pm with facemask and was in bed just after 9pm. I got all my running kit out ready and got up at 6am and did my 5k route. Walked a few times but was pleased that the muscle memory was still there and legs/breathing held out. Came home and 'think' TOTM is here unless it's down to stress!? Have taken precautions just in case :(

    Food today:
B - Weetabix choc melts, muller vanilla, banana - HEB, 0.5, free
L - JP, tuna, LTL mayo, balsamic, pickles, carrot sticks - 1, free, 0.5, S
    D - sweet chilli chicken, rice, 2 satsumas - 1, S
    HEA - milk
Syns - skinny crunch bar 3, plus 2 so 5 total

Morning all, another wet day at the moment anyway although forecast to be dry later.  If it does dry I'll put another machine load of washing on.  Otherwise it can wait as there's nothing in there that's desperately needed!

First day on SP so let's see what happens and whether I feel hungry later which is what happened last time I tried SP!  So today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs and spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
    L - carrot and lentil soup - S; P; F (stock pot!)
    D - beef stew, celeriac mash - P; S; F (stock pot!)

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - may have a couple of crisp breads at lunchtime with the soup 3; maybe a couple of G&Ts tonight 6

    Have a good day everyone.
