Morning all, extremely windy all night and hasn't abated this morning either! Need to pop out shopping later as need some half fat creme fraische to make lunch later and also nearly out of yoghurt! We seem to be eating loads of yoghurt at the moment but suppose that is because we tend to have a bowl of fruit and yoghurt in the evening as a late pudding - bit like @bubbs with her ice cream!
Happy belated birthday @maman. Glad you enjoyed your day. I know what you mean about your DH being a 'breakfast chef' mine's pretty much the same. We would probably have ended up with sausage and mash!
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs and spinach on toast- HEB; P; S
L - roasted butternut squash, winter herb and crispy butterbean quiche (it's supposed to be a tart but obviously making it without pastry!) - P; S; F; 8
D - 5 slice chicken selects, chips. coleslaw - P; S; F (another Gousto meal but I'll be adapting slightly to make it more SW friendly, like baking not frying the chicken!). It's bit like a KFC with sweet and sour dipping sauce!
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - honey 1.5; 75ml half fat creme fraische 6.5; wholegrain mustard 0.5; cornflour 2; tomato ketchup 1; Light mayo 2
It may not be quite as many syns as that as it's extremely unlikely I'll be eating half the quiche so that would reduce my syns to 4.5 rather than 8.5 for lunch! Those syns are for half the quiche. I think I'll probably end up freezing half of it as DH definitely won't be wanting to eat it 2 days running!

Morning all,
An extremely wet and windy day here. Thankfully the promised snow never arrived, we may have that joy later in the week but also means I only did the washing that was absolutely necessary! As I don't have a tumble dryer, DS's work clothes have been on airers moving around the house all weekend.
Your meal plan sounds good @joedenise and you've reminded me I bought cabbage to make some coleslaw. Now in the mood for coleslaw and chips!
Today's plan:
B - sweet omelette, f/f Greek yoghurt, banana, strawberries and Skinny syrup (0.5 syns)
L - soft pitta (HEB), smoked ham, loads of salad and pickles, apple and satsuma to snack on
D - baked potato, beans and salad (I've an appointment so something quick when I get home)

Morning all,
Happy belated birthday to you @maman x I'm glad you enjoyed your day
Hope your DDad has a better week @bubbs x
I have the Target book where it helps you to follow a pathway to maintain. I'm pathway A so can have an extra HE on up to 3 days a week plus 10 extra syns. This feels very generous so I'll need to make sure I plan and stick to this! This wasn't around 7 years ago when I was last at target.
We had lamb shanks from Aldi last night with roasted sweet potatoes, savoy cabbage, carrots and broccoli. It was lush and 7 syns. Think there's also a mint version which is 4 syns so will look for that next time.
I'm in the London office today. Boss won't make it in as dealing with a home emergency today and sounds close to tears. I have a couple of meetings this afternoon and will leave at 4.30pm.
Food today will be:
B - overnights oats, frozen cherries, vanilla mullerlight - HEB, freen 0.5
L - leftover chilli con carne with rice, 2 satsumas, grapes - free, S, free
D - grilled gammon steak, SW chips, baked beans - P, free
HEA - milk
Syns - skinny rocky road bar 3 plus 0.5 so 3.5 total

Unfortunately the quiche wasn't very nice at all and didn't eat hardly any of it apart from the butternut squash and a couple of whole garlic cloves. Half fat creme fraiche doesn't work in a quiche so at least I saved syns and I don't think there's enough eggs in the recipe as only 2 large ones so didn't set very well! Only dished up about a quarter rather than half and only ate about half of that. Will syn it at 4 syns as if I'd eaten the quarter!
Have to say @Coxy11 I still try and stick to 10 syns a day and not the full 15 like I used to and certainly not the extra 40 syns the booklet says you can have on pathway A! I still can't seem to get below about lb from top end even cutting back that far so I'd go careful with having extra syns to start with until you say how your body reacts! Good luck with getting to bottom end of target range!0 -
What a horrible wet day!
Didn't really eat yesterday as I felt awful, today I've been on back to back meetings all day, ended up missing my lunch so rather hungry now. I have a 5 minute break and then on calls again until 4pm so not impressed.
WI tonight so will have a bowl of soup before I go and then eat again when I get home.

🤞🏼 you get to 5 stone loss tonight @annabanana82. It would be a shame if you didn't lose because of not eating enough!🤣
Like @joedenise , I don't really follow the SW advice for extra syns for target members either @Coxy11. I find I can maintain on the full 105 syns per week. If I drop out of target range then I cut back to more like 70-80 and that usually gives me a loss. I also do a food diary when I need to lose to be aware of any hidden syns as I rarely measure milk of Parmesan for HEAs especially since the second one was introduced. This works better for me as I usually eat out 3 or 4 times a month so instead of regular extra syns I'd have them then.
Was that 'pie' a Gusto meal for lunch @joedenise? I saw an advert in today's paper and the offer looks really good value so I'm interested to see whether you'd recommend them. I know @ruby_eskimo has used them.
Thanks for the heads up on the Aldi lamb shanks. It seems ridiculous but that's a more cost effective way of having lamb now than cooking from scratch. I think we'll have it this weekend as a change from chicken or pork.
No roast yesterday meant that I have no LO vegetables my usual lunch today. Instead I made a hash from bits of what I had in the fridge (tomato, onion, baby sweetcorn, mushrooms, courgette) and added 1 sliced potato.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs (P)
L- ham (P), vegetable hash (F,S), beetroot and cornichons (S)
d- salmon (P), SW chips (F), carrots, mushrooms, tomatoes, spicy cauliflower, green stuff (S)
Syns- Ocado salmon marinade 1.50 -
The butternut squash tart was a BBC recipe. Their recipes are usually reasonably good but this was was quite high syns and certainly not worth the hassle or time and using half fat instead of full fat creme fraiche just didn't work well and everything looked split. Certainly very unappetising and the butterbean topping just went hard rather than crispy so again not nice at all.
Dinner tonight is a Gousto meal. It definitely looks a bit like KFC with a sweet and sour dipping sauce! I'm sure I could make it much lower syn not using their recipe, LOL but I'll use the recipe to see what it's like.
I've used 2 of the meals so far and will definitely be making the chicken provencal one again but not the smoked basa fish pie - the fish was completely tasteless! I will however make the sauce for my usual fish pie using stock like this one used. Just added 50g of soft cheese so I'd use Primula Light and add a full HEA between us so could still have half HEA available for extra milk if I wanted it.
As I got the meals on a 70% off offer then I thought it worth a try but I won't be buying any more. There is a 60% off offer on their website at the moment if anyone's interested. I just wish I'd bought meals for 2 rather than meals for 4 as I've got lots of fresh stuff which I've either got to try and use in the next few days, freeze or throw away - none of which is ideal! I think they're a good idea for someone who doesn't have a good store cupboard as you get all the measured ingredients although I'm not using the included mayo I'll be using the light one from the fridge instead at least it will save 3 syns and the dinner's going to be high enough syn as it is!
