Hi @bubbs I am in North Birmingham.

Snow has pretty much gone now but it’s still very cold.

@maman - that starter looked really good.  Glad you enjoyed your meal out - nothing worse than not enjoying your syns!

Glad to say the bed is finally heating up and we've covered it with it's quilted mattress cover, sheet and a couple of spare duvets.  With a bit of luck we'll be able to sleep on it Monday night, if not Tuesday.  Can't wait - so fed up with a hard mattress!

  • Sorry about the gain @bubbs I'd be tempted to just have a bit of what you fancy and surprise your body and metabolism, might just give you a kick-start.

I put on my big girl pants today and braved Parkrun all by myself, it was cold and too wet underfoot for my liking but I did my best and pushed myself. I thought I was close to a personal best but 12 seconds off, I'm blaming that on the wet conditions. I did have a win in that I wasn't last for the first time ever and probably life!

    Food today

    Pre Parkrun: skinny crunch 3syns
Breakfast: Blueberry baked oats 1 syn

Lunch: out at Itsu Teriyaki Chicken rice bowl - no idea on syns but don't think it'll be too high fingers crossed. Had a good lot of edamame beans

Dinner: Rump Steak, SW chips, peas and a giant field mushroom. Keeping it classy with ketchup 1 syn

Oh I have also heard that Subway offer 20% off for SW members on their salad bowls.

@annabanana82 - the Itsu Teriyaki Chicken rice bowl kit is 5.5 syns so doubt it would be much whilst eating out - maybe add a few syns for some oil.  I'm sure your well within syns for the day with only having 5 other syns.

That's why I don't understand why cooking fruit (even if it's just heating up pineapple or blueberries ) adds syns but cooking veg is OK. 🤔

No idea, they always say filling power but you could eat a whole bowl of them beans for a snack and not considered a tweak 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

It is odd though. I can understand why stewed apple or fruit juice would fit the 'filling power' argument as you could eat a lot more than whole and isn't using the same energy to digest. But you could cook and mash carrots and it doesn't apply. Perhaps it's to do with fruit sugar? 🤔 I wish they'd train consultants to explain properly.
