Morning all.@bubbs what did you use for the tart on your pudding please?I hope everyone is well. That parking charge is horrendous in Brighton. I know my daughter took the car into Birmingham city centre once and parked in the Bull Ring and that cost £8. It is cheaper to go by bus which is £4 return. Some cars are subject to the clean air charge as well if you go into the city centre which is another £8. Luckily both DH and DD’s cars are exempt. There are a few SW groups by me as well. The main one here is a Saturday morning which is very busy and it takes ages to get everyone through. I used to be on the social team on the weighing desk. I did enjoy it, but I had to get there before the members started arriving at about 8.40 for a 9.00 start, so I could get myself weighed and then a cuppa. The consultant used to get us a Xmas gift but we never used to get any other perks as such and still had to pay for everything. I didn’t mind giving up my time for it, but as a full time worker, my weekends are the only time I get to do my weekly shop etc and other things. Most of my Saturday morning would be gone. At that time I used to have my groceries delivered, but decided to stop that as got tired of receiving short dated food. I did have deliveries during the pandemic, but when restrictions were relaxed again I went back to shopping myself again. I think the final straw with the social team thing was when I turned up and the consultant had a posh new car on the car park (leased I know), but it was the realisation that the only person it benefits was the consultant and not me, so I took a step back and went back to being a regular member. There was also an occasion when the consultant was on Maternity leave and we had a relief one and she was vile and quite rude to me.The group I attend now is a Thursday evening.Sorry for the long post. Have a good day all. xxStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £30,358.130

Morning all,
Well done to @beanielou and @annabanana82 on your losses this week - excellent stuff!
Those strawberry tarts look lush @bubbs mmmmmm
I managed to fall asleep on the sofa at 9.30pm last night. Just can't hack the pace of commuting anymore. Had a lovely sleep until 6.30am
The bed emptying exercise has grown into a monster @joedenise!
WFH today and I have a couple of things to collect. DH received a £50 gift voucher from work for Christmas so we've put it towards a micro CD player as big hifi stack hit the dust a few years ago and we have many CDs with nothing to play them on. Need to collect from Wa!trose after 3pm. I've also spotted a couple of small oval wicker baskets on Olio which would be perfect for making up raffle prizes for my fundraising, and 2 lidded vintage Pyrex dishes which I plan to Ebay, again for fundraising.
Food today will be:
B - poached egg, spinach, mushrooms, 1 x WM toast - P, S, 1/2 HEB
L - Spicy veg soup, carrot sticks, pickles, 4 x Aldi sea salt crackers - S, 4
D - spaghetti bolognaise*, parmesan - Free, HEA
HEA2 - milk
1/2 HEB - skinny dream rocky road bar.
Syns - 4
*I'm going to do half 5% beef mince and half Quorn - will see whether DH notices!!
Have a good day everyone

Morning all. Well done on the losses @beanielou and @annabanana82 and agree that the tarts look amazing @bubbs, bet your glad to have access to the ice cream maker again!
Actually went for a run yesterday evening 😳 Found an alternative to the C25K which is a little gentler and we'll see what happens and if I can get back to running 5k again. Did a workout this morning too (who am I?!?) followed by yogurt, blueberries and muesli for breakfast. Lunch is going to be some veggie goulash and dinner is a haddock and leek chowder.
Right better get cracking on with some work - hoping to get some Eurovision tickets today but not holding out much hope! We cross posted @Abbafan1972 - agree about the parking charge! More than the mirror I didn't end up buying!
Also your comments on ST participation. Our consultant gave us all one of the new hi fi bars when they launched recently plus a copy of the latest mag. I also got a week free as she put through a BAFGAWF voucher for me. Didn't get a thank you on Saturday from relief consultant - probably because I messed up on the vouchers!
The previous group I attended, I used to be the only one of 6 to stay on and load the consultant's car and wait to set the alarm with her (evening group finishing at 9pm). Would go straight from work and eat afterwards so you can imagine the hangry feeling! One evening the alarm wouldn't set so we were there for about half an hour phaffing about. I messaged the other ST members the following day to ask if we could perhaps do a rota to take it in turns to stay and got such vitriol back from one of them that I left the groupUnfortunately it's not always the 'safe space' that it's billed to be.
Well done on the running and exercise @ruby_eskimo - great stuff. And good luck with your quest for Eurovision tickets !!!

Morning all
We have snow here which is not good as I'm waiting on something to be delivered by royal mail and yesterday they had the feeblest excuse as to why they couldn't deliver. Not holding out much hope for today!
@maman it is the LTL mayo I was using (Sainsburys own) and I could have sworn it was 1 syn per tbsp. Not sure where I'd got that from and yep I always syn my honey just forgot to add it in here
Well done beanie and anna on losses this week 👏
Today's food
B- porridge (HEB) nectarine and honey (1) cuppas with milk (HEA1)
L- cheese (HEA2) and tomato omelette with salad

Morning all,
Well done @beanielou and @Abbafan1972 onwards and downwards to your next big shiny 😊
Thanks for the reminder about Eurovision @ruby_eskimo we were thinking of a long weekend in Liverpool when DS is home but maybe not! Will have to check dates.
Already been out and dropped off car for MOT and service, using DS2 car for dentist shortly. Work is really getting in the way, can't wait for early retirement 🤣🤣
Today's food:
B - sweet omelette, banana, nectarine, Kvarg (0.5 syns)
L - pitta pocket (HEB), smoked ham, salad and pickles
D - Chinese style chicken curry with rice and loads of onions and mushrooms (DS requested Mayflower curry sauce but will only have a couple of tablespoons as not overly keen and will need to check the syns)
Have a good day all.0 -
Morning all, not long back from the dentist and shopping. Will need to start on lunch shortly so not much getting done today!
DH is rubbing down walls at the moment and has been most of the morning. You're right about our bedroom becoming a monster @Coxy11.
When I was on the ST at my old group we used to get the magazine every month and also a Christmas present from the consultant. Decided not to be on the ST at the new group as don't go regularly now.
Well done on your loss @annabanana82, you'll soon have that next shiny!
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash - P; S; F
L - sloppy joes in Wm roll - HEB; P; S; F
D - lasagne - P; S; F; 3.5
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - WM roll
Syns - cheese sauce mix 3.5
Have a good day everyone.

It's a big commitment being on the Social Team, especially when it takes a chunk out of a precious weekend @Abbafan1972. I can see why it helps to feel appreciated. Like @joedenise, I don't attend regularly enough now but when I did, I just helped out when needed with the raffle or any other jobs that came up. At my first group, we used to help pack the consultant's car but this one has the hall all day and I go in the mornings. I always remember carrying those sandbag things that weighed a stone or half a stone. that was good motivation! 🤣
Well done for getting back to your exercise with a vengeance @ruby_eskimo. I'm sure it's good for your MH with everything that's going on as well as the physical bonuses.
The LTL mayo is amazing for half a syn per tbsp @cherry_22. I can't remember who it is on here that prefers salad cream but the Hubbard's from Sainsbury's is good for 1 syn per tbsp.
I think @bubbs uses the Mayflower curry @Jellybaby so could probably advise how to syn it. The powder is 4 syns for 100g of sauce made up or 3 for a tbsp of the dry powder before it's made up if that helps. I think it all depends how you buy it.
It'll be interesting to know if your DH notices that you've cut back on the meat in the Bolognese @Coxy11. Mine's never commented when I substitute lentils and extra veg except to say he enjoys it. 😊
Did anyone watch the new Jamie Oliver programme with meals for £1 per portion? I liked the idea of making a midweek roast with stuffed chicken thighs. He used a slice of bread coated in mustard and some herbs but I'm thinking how I could adapt that to be more SW friendly although I often have a 'spare' slice of bread at the moment.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB (half) toast, fried eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- ham (P), 1 potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- baked haddock (P), SW chips, mushy peas (F), carrots, green stuff, mushrooms, tomatoes
Syns- 00 -
Jeez @Coxy11 that's dire.
I am on the ST for two groupd that follow each other but I don't help set up now.
I do ST as it makes me go even when I don't feel like it!
I had my wound redressed today & it seems to be healing ok.

Glad to hear your wound is healing well @beanielou. I agree with you about ST - that was why I used to do it with my old group. I just feel now that I need to "live" without the need of such regular WIs.0
