Great news @bubbs about your DMum x
Hope your DDad is okay @ruby_eskimo x
I'm in a quandry about when to call target. The two previous times I called it (19 years and 6 years ago respectively) I wasn't this weight. The first time I was a lot younger and went to a size 8 which I'd never been EVER. It was not sustainable. Second time I was 6lb less than I am now. I would like to be the same but can see it might take me a few months to get that 6lb off as I have DHs 50th later this month with an AI trip to Marrakech and several meals out/buffets here. Plus I'm hiking again in April for 10 days which is carb central. It's not a money thing, but I'm wary of calling too early/heavy and then regretting it! Thoughts from anyone at target please?
Food today will be:
B - Weetabix choc melts, mullerlight vanilla, blueberries, banana - HEB, 0.5, S, free
L - spicy veg soup, satsumas, grapes - S, free
D - chicken pesto pasta - 4.5
HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar plus 5 so 8 total
Have a good day all

Morning all. Hope you are well.
It's Friday!!!
@bubbs glad to hear your Mom has now tested negative.
@ruby_eskimo I hope your Dad is ok?
Yes, DH is battling on and he's arranged for some time off next week.
I only skimmed over the posts to be honest, so apologies if I've missed anything.
WI was good last night - lost 1.5lb, so I will take that!
Am off to a charity event tomorrow with my parents, there's a craft fair and other stuff going on.
Am thinking about doing the Birmingham Walkathon on the 2nd April. It hasn't been done for a good few years and it's 26 miles.
Have a good day and speak to you all soon. xxStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
Morning all, looking a bit grey at the moment but hopefully it'll brighten up later. Didn't manage to get the bed completely emptied yesterday as DH's drill packed up - not surprising seeing as he bought it before we got married and we've been married nearly 52 years!!! How on earth did that happen!
@Coxy11 - do you feel comfortable at the weight you are at the moment? If so I'd call target now. Even if you go out of target you get a week's grace and then just start paying again until you get back into target range so 3lb above your target weight. Also with being at target if you put weight on when you have your DH's birthday bash/meal out or whatever you can just take a couple of weeks off weighing and go back when you're back in range which is exactly the same as I do! Same with your April hike. Try to get to bottom end of target range before you go which gives you 6lb to play with and you can always take a week or two or more off from weighing to get back into range. Hope that's helpful.
Today's plan:
B - overnight oats - HEB; S; F
L -couscous salad - P; S; F
D - cauliflower cheese; chips - HEA2; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - oats
Syns - none planned
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. Glad to hear your mum is now testing negative @bubbs and got to see your dad. Fingers crossed they can sort his placement out soon!
My dad still uses the tools his dad gave him about 50 years ago so these things do last a while if they're looked after @joedenise. Hope you can sort the bed out today!
I have no idea what's happening with my dad now; he was supposed to call me back last night with an update but didn't hear anything so don't know if I need to take him to hospital or not 🤷♀️ Will give him a call at lunch time and see what he says. Did end up eating an entire share size bag of kettle chips last night while finishing the bottle of wine I opened at the weekend, which I'm just drawing a line under and moving on from.
Breakfast today was porridge with banana, lunch is a random salad bowl and dinner is creamy cajun chicken pasta with the last of the salad leaves on the side.
Right, back to work, hope you all have a good day and weekend.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Didn't feel hungry at lunchtime so just had half a pack of golden vegetable rice for 1 syn. Thought it was very bland! Glad I won it in the raffle at group - it's not the sort of thing I buy and having tasted it I certainly won't be bothering again!
We'll finish emptying the bed today probably but think it's going to be a while before we actually get back to using it as need to strip wallpaper from behind the bed and tidy up the plaster before we can paint the wall. Also going to get a new carpet as the one that's down has been down since we moved in over 20 years ago so don't think it owes us anything!
Hope your dad is alright @ruby_eskimo. The creamy cajun chicken pasta sounds nice - is it a SW recipe or one you've made up?

Well done on your 1.5lbs @Abbafan1972! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You're well back into the plan. I'd say definitely put yourself down for the walk. It'll give you something to aim for. With the lighter evenings coming, it'll be easier to get back in training or you could, like @ruby_eskimo get your workouts done in the early morning.🤔😁
Hope you get some definitive response from your dad @ruby_eskimo. You're obviously stressed by the situation. I do hope that wine and crisps line is firmly drawn. 🤗
That's an interesting question @Coxy11. Like you, I have been lighter when I was younger than the target I have now, probably about a stone. I used to be around a small size 10, but I'm 5 ft 9ins and looking back at photos, my arms were like pipe cleaners! 🤣 I notice now that once I get below target range my arms and legs start to look too thin. I think you have to be sure that eating to the SW plan is now your forever default way of eating. Then you can go off plan for holidays and celebrations and get back on plan in between. It's a bit like having syns, they're there to enjoy but not the foods (and drinks😉) that should be every day regular eating. You should also find that you make wise choices when you can. If you call target now but keep going to group then if/when you gain from the holidays, carbs on walk, celebrations then you'll just have to pay until you get back into range which is no different from now. Come the autumn, when things are back to normal then you can get back into range (if needed) and then perhaps not go every week if you don't want to although some like to go every week. If you ever did want to set a lower target, then 7lbs is the minimum I believe.
I do very much like @joedenise suggested. I'm a week into the 8 week period when you have to go WI as a target member. I'll enjoy my birthday next weekend and a few meals out and days away towards the end of the month. In between I'll have SW meals and then, a couple of weeks before next WI I'll try to stick to plan 100%. Sorry if that was a bit long winded but I think it comes down to whether you're happy with yourself (how you look and how your clothes fit) at the weight you are now and how confident you are that you'd get back on plan when the various events are over. I think you'll be fine as you have had holidays and walks in the past year or so and always jumped back on the wagon. Do let us know what you decide. 😊
I've done my meal plan and will shop later. The coming week looks OK for sticking to plan unless anything unexpected happens.
Today's EE plan-
b- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs (P)
L- JP (F), veggie chilli (P,S), cottage cheese (P), spring onion and pickles (S)
D- chicken P (not sure how I'm cooking it yet), SW chips (F), carrot chips, green stuff, mushrooms and tomatoes (S)
Syns- weekend wine😁0 -
Well done on your loss @Abbafan1972 x
Thanks for the comments on target @joedenise and @maman. Food for thought! I think I've still got a few lbs in me to lose so think I'll see what happens tomorrow and next week. DH is away Weds night to Friday so I have two nights when I can have a much lighter meal which will hopefully lead to more of a loss. Would like to be bottom end for the trip away.
I will probably still go every week as I'm on the ST and it's a newly launched group so feel somewhat responsible to the consultant! May not weigh every week though!
