Evening ladies.
Currently trying to get this little lovely finished by February 22nd so I have a few days to frame and wrap it before my mother in laws birthday on the 26th.......
I was just wondering if anyone has any idea for the best place to buy threads? I have found I am a little short on some of the colours and I will be needing to buy some to be able to finish so I will make myself a thread box if need be so I was wondering where everyone buys from.
Thank you and cant wait to share when its finished.

Hi everyone,
(Groundhog Day alert) sorry for my absence - work now officially entering a Shape and Size exercise which makes me think my b*m will be too big for my office chair.... I've been Bay of E'ing like mad making funds for our JoGLE pot. Have 2 more parcels to send off today which will be 5 since Saturday. Mainly things that have been gifted to me from friends or things I've picked up in charity shops for a few pounds. It all helps
Sorry to hear about FIL @Charly27, how is he doing now? Love the birth samplers and how fitting for your Maths teacher buddies x
Love the robins @sammy_kaye18 - I use DMC threads and bought a fair few from Love Crafts HTH.
Lovely updates @nmm and @Drawingaline x
I did a little more of my Haberdashery Shop design on Sunday night whilst DH was having a bonfire at the end of the garden. We removed a load of rotten trellis, posts and decking plus cut a lot of plants down. Most of it has now gone and it's looking very sparse down the end now. New trellis will be put back up and hopefully before the climbing rose, honeysuckle, clematis and Winter jasmine put on too much growth!
I need a knitting/crochet project as something to do in between my cross stitch. Just need it to be something useful. Might make some dishcloths or other such items to use here but only have acrylic yarn and don't think it's suitable - anyone??
DH away this weekend camping with his pals. I am having dinner out with a friend on Friday, Fat Club and haircut on Saturday and then going to see the Puss in Boots film at 3.30 on my own! Sunday I'm meeting BFF at Bluewater shopping mall for lunch and I also have a £50 giftcard to spend that I received for Christmas. Hoping to do some cross stitch on Saturday evening. Bliss!!
Hope you're all doing okay

Thank you for the recommendations all.
I will have a look but I have discovered a second thread that I have now run out of so I think I need to carry on and then see what threads I need to finish and order them all at once.
But the end date is looming so I need to get a shift on - its intended as a gift on the 26th February! - so I need to get going.
I have had a few days away form it though whilst the weather was nice and cleaned the garden up a bit. Husband helped me to level off a bed I had put together from pallets and I spent the day collecting up bits of wood and rubbish from the garden to try and clear it a bit. Just waiting for a dry few days so I can get out and burn it all in the little burner that we have.
So ready to get planting but theres still quite a few frosts here in south wales yet so for now I am enjoying staying inside and crafting.Time to find me again2 -
Welcome Sammy. I love the robins, they have a special significance for our family but I’ve never stitched them yet. Lovely design and will be a wonderful gift. Like others I use Lovecrafts and building up my own colours now. Lucky to have a Hobby crafts in Norwich and a large independent craft place. Town has a couple of small wool shops too which stock a limited range.
I’ve decided to stitch a mini-masterpiece for my mum before I start the sampler. She loves her art so I’m going to stitch Klimnt mother and child. The PDF has 60 designs each 2” x 2.6” so should be quick stitch.
Like you and Coxy we sorted out the shed on Wednesday whilst it was fine and took lots of bits to our local auction the next day. DH took anything we couldn’t sell to the local recycling centre. I can actually stand in it now! Hopefully some bits will sell to someone who can get pleasure out of them.Sorry to hear about work Coxy lots of shifting at the moment. Let me know when your Jogle deadline is. I don’t have any plans for Cactus which is so nearly finished if you think you could sell it I’d be happy to post.FIL is not good and has had a torrid time in hospital. We have visited everyday except Tuesday. Yesterday he was struggling to breathe even with oxygen mask and very weak. They are trying to find an antibiotic to treat his pneumonia but he’s not responded yet. Less aggressive now but still delusional. Recognises us both but very cruel to my SIL when she visited last weekend.Sammy I noticed from your signature you are newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic amongst other challenges. The GP picked up that my BS and cholesterol had increased during the last year to 50. I’ve managed to lose a few pounds on the Fast 800 and it reduced to 47. Now got to reduce it further to 42. Would love to know what you are doing and happy to cheer you on as I find what works and is sustainable for me.‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. @Charly27 I have sent you a private PM as a post of mine was removed the other day when I was asking for tips about getting numbers down.
I hope your FIL is feeling better and seeing some improvements with his medication.Time to find me again3 -
Love the new kit charly, looks like a nice relaxing project, sorry to hear about your FIL i hope they can help him out, it sounds awful for you all.
Sammy, the robins are great, i tend to buy my threads from a PYO listing on Ebay, never had an issue with the seller i use.
Coxy, when i need to use up wool i make baskets, always useful. I made the ones pictured with 2 strands of chunky and a 6mm hook, you can use 3 or 4 strands of DK, this is the pattern if interested Crochet in Color: Chunky Crocheted Basket Pattern

Hi all, love those baskets Nmm. Thanks Sammy I can see the DM will read and respond.
Both DH found FIL really distressed again today. This is the second weekend where care at the weekend feels dangerously chaotic. Horrible to see him in such discomfort.I’ve been busy stitching and have a TADA. Sorrow about the shadow, it’s still in my frame. I will wash and find a frame as soon as I can.‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler.
