I've just finished this cover for a wicker basket.  It was a bit of a marathon as I couldn't find a pattern so was making it up as I went along.  As the idea was to use up some of my stash I decided against buying more bias binding when I realised I didn't have enough.   I just used what I had then used up a little bit of a different colour I had.  Its certainly not perfect but I reminded myself its for me, noones going to mark me on it so I got over myself and did the best I could   :)

the pale blue end.  The purple bits are pockets with the sewing motifs from a strip i bought years ago.  Some of the squares have been made into needlecases and pincushions but its nice for me to see more of the motifs at once.  I didn't have enough of the red fabric or the purple so I was having to join backing fabric all over the place and make a separate pad for the base.  Hence I felt it was a marathon!   Hence also no photos of the underside- I'm not someone whose work is hard to tell back from front lol.

Looks good to me Daisy, i love the motifs, i can see why it felt like a marathon you've done loads of work, you should be very proud of the end result :)

Gorgeous! Its my birthday later this month and my mum has got me a subscription to cross stitcher magazine, first one arrived yesterday. And she has also got me a special addition with lots of lovely patterns in. So now I have about 15 things I want to do. Seeing as it takes me a year to do one medium size cross stitch I have a few years worth lined up it seems 😆

Daisy it’s gorgeous. I’ve been wanting to do that to my basket for ages. Very creative.
That sounds like a lovely present DAL I’d be delighted with that. I’ve stayed strong in January so far despite sales - no new cross stitch (well maybe one small PDF from Etsy with 20% off cost me less than £3), no new books (even from CS).  :D I probably take about 6 months on some of my finishes. If they are a sampler it’s a bit quicker but I don’t worry about the speed just try to enjoy the progress . Nmm seascape looking great. Big welcome Treasure Queen.
Cactus update, switched back to my frame as the hoop was jibbering up my wrists! Just got plant pot to stitch white, cactus 5 to finish and the border to do. That’s quite repetitive so I keep switching about and I’ve two needles on my minder threaded in different colours. Another first for me.

Oh wow Debrak that is impressive, i love it with all the animals so adorable, how long have you been working on it?

Drawingaline, what a brilliant birthday gift and yes i think i have enough patterns, fabric and thread to last 2 lifetimes, lol

Charly, get you with 2 needles on the go, nearly there on the cactus, repetitive can be good sometimes :)

Debrak that is stunning. Don’t think I have stitched anything with that many stitches yet!

    Hellooooo!

So sorry for my absence. Work is horrendously busy and family life is too! DS2 now back at uni, DD going back this weekend. Trying to sort POA for Mum and also her email/laptop issues - no gratitude as usual  >:)

    So lovely to see some new members - welcome along @Madquilter59 , @SandyShores, @Treasurequeen and @Debrak !!

Lovely to see some ta-dah finishes - @daisy_1571 that basket is seriously impressive.
OMG @Debrak that's some masterpiece there - so amazing!
Lovely progress on Seascape @nmm and Cactus @Charly27
Lovely present of a mag subscription @Drawingaline. I currently have a 2 month free Readly subscription for lots of mags. Will cancel when the free period is over though  ;)

I've done a titchy bit more on the Haberdashery Shop - it's very slow going and after the speed of the crochet blanket it's a shock! Will update with a photo when there's a bit more to show!

Have received an email for 20% off Cotton and Twine past boxes - must resist!

    Have a good day all
