Its very confusing to read, semi confusing to do until you get the hang but satisfying once you get the idea.  These pics have come out wrong order.  They are a sample not of trees but a line of fish but 7ts same principle.  Pic 3 shows reverse. Pic 2 shows the 2nd triangle stitched, pic 3 ive opened out the second triangle but not pressed it.  In this one the purple material went on first, sewed with triangle 1.  Second triangle going on catches the raw edges and finishes off the purple and the first triangle.

Heres a few other xmas trees for ideas.  You can make the tree itself one piece, strips, off set strips or further triangles.  If the pattern is small just cut and use, if the pattern is larger you can try to 'fussy piece' to get a the part of the pattern you want centered.  Pic 3 is thin material with the lines drawn on ready to start.  The other pics are square which can be coaster size or else you can add further fabric to get up to wallhanging or cushion size etc.  Very adaptable.  It honestly is confusing to read but if you watch some you tubes then just try it you will totally get the hang of it.  Good luck and enjoy  :)

All your lists are huge! Mine is probably finish two of the kits I have, and my mum got me a couple of cross stitch books for Xmas. One has a very interesting pattern in it, but it needs some thought going into it (it needs updating and some research) and I have never done anything but kits so for me that is ambitious!

Seeing the work my mum has to put into quilting puts me off doing it. Well that and the fact that me and sewing machines do not mix well!

Atm I have started a new kit, and remembering how much I hate working on a dark background!

nmm that looks lovely, but then I do like anything using blue.

That 365 of stitching looks interesting. I have never done embroidery, maybe that needs to be something I can pick up later this year. I have a few time commitments that will be ending in the coming months, might be time for some more crafting.

Back to work tomorrow but at college rather than WFH. Coxy you sound as though you’ve been very productive. I was ‘at work’ on Friday 30th but was lovely not to get a continuous stream of emails. The HSC cactus is quite simple compared to your stitching. I’ve only stitched on 14ct so far. (I think)!

All the few decorations are down save my two nativity scenes which come down once the kings arrive on 6th. Back to work tomorrow but at college rather at home. We’ve done quite a lot of sorting today, clothes and finance. Thank you MSE.

the seascape is coming on well. So relaxing to look at.

Daisy huge thanks 😊 I’ve copied the photos and I think it’ll come to me if I actually do it. I learn best that way, the first 100 times are the hardest  :D As you say there is always You Tube.

DAL I’m going to see if I can find my PDF for the 365, and a spare 10” hoop. If not I’ll head for the CS’s at the weekend. Hobby craft have a good video too if you’re interested.

I’ll post an update of cactus next.

HSC cactus update, excuse the wrinkles and hoop marks! One cactus left to stitch on the far right, then the shelf underneath it & the whole border.

Slightly closer photo of 2 from my 12 months wallhanging showing small pattern  tree plus 'fussy piecing' to get the cat sitting nicely (supposed to look like hes sitting in front of the tree trunk)

Drawingaline, we have big lists and big dreams, haha we'll see what actually gets completed.

Charly, seascape is not relaxing to stitch, its on 18ct and the blue shades are so similar its a nightmare at the moment. Cactus is looking good.

Daisy, the cat looks like he's sheltering from some bad weather, smart kitty :)
