My planned list of makes for 2023:

    * Haberdashery Shop by Durene Jones - have chart, fabric and threads

    * Let it Snow - have chart and threads

    * Frame HSC Rudolf Sampler for Christmas 2023 (made 2021!!)

    * Frame PL city series x 6 in embroidery hoops - maybe sell.......

    * Make some padded lavender hearts with the fabric fat quarters I got from the CS - maybe sell.....

This list is not exhaustive(!) but as you can see, I have plans to sell some items if I can get my act together. Would love to explore an Etsy shop or similar or do an in-person craft fayre or two, maybe with DMum. We shall see.

What are others planning to make?

    Hi all,

Loving the lists - had to peek at number 16 @Charly27 - looks interesting....!

I made a start on the Haberdashery Shop last night. Forgot how slow CS is compared to crochet! I am using 16 ct aida as that's what I have in and there's no more than 6 stitches of the same colour at any one time, so I've a feeling this one is going to take a while.....

Despite today being a WFH day I have managed to clear my ironing, clean the kitchen, wrap up and put away the Christmas serving dishes and finish the paperwork for DMum's POA. I have also answered some work-based queries lest you think I'm skiving lol!

hello everyone and happy new year to all

I'm working on (well its on a frame and not touched since probably April 22) of cats, I've had a dragon/Castle unfinished for at least 30 years, I have kits from santa and several other ideas.

Sewing: I have lots of ideas, still slightly obsessed with the foundation pieced trees (charly enjoy ur tree quilt, I'm happy to send over the foundation pieced pattern i used or photos of sample ones to spark ur ideas even more :) but im sure you will make a much better one than mine)  so far I've donec3 sets of 8 coasters, 1 wallhanging and about 6 tree decorations or door handle decorations.   Love them.

I also have part finished crochet waistcoat and part finished crochet scarf.

Plus other things in 2 tubs recently labelled 'finish these or else!'

    Phew

    Happy stitching

    Happy new year all.

My lists are always too ambitious but I’m very happy to be flexible and embrace a stitching opportunity when it arrives. A good example of this was the never underestimate the difference you make wall hanging for my work colleague.

Big yes please. I’m a quilting beginner so would appreciate that. I’m slightly obsessed with bookcase quilts but haven’t even put those on the list. I like things you can do a bit a month to. So I might start the HSC ‘ A year in the life’ sampler and put that in my frame!

Back to work Tuesday so two days to myself.

Daisy full and frank disclosure. The bookcase quilt obsession began in August 2021 when we stayed in a B and B. The proprietor had stitched a quilt during lockdown and was flattered when I asked if I could take a photo. Now I have a Pinterest board with over twenty on there. One day …

Thitgthis is a typical Xmas tree foundation piece template.  The number denote the order you sew.  Get the template onto either paper (which you will tear away at end) or thin material that you will keep within your end product.   The pieces of material get sewn on the other side to the side you have your pattern.   The pattern lines are where you sew.  Start by placing first and second pieces on blank side.  Sew on the line on the sewing side.  Turn it over and press open.   It helps if you then trim the fabric to 1/4inch at the next line you are going to sew.  Place fabric number 3 (if you have trimmed you can place it with edges matching), turn over and sew along line 2.  Press open and you will see you are catching the raw edges each time.
