Welcome fanf, that looks amazing.   Only recommendation I have is to try to do regular time stitching.   Even ten minutes will make a difference if you can manage it every day.  Take a photo from time to time as it helps you see how far you are getting, great wave will be finished before you know it

Hi, can I join? Long time cross-stitcher, recently picked up diamond painting and enjoyed it thoroughly. It's like a quicker, stabbier cross-stitch. Did this fox for my daughter's room, and am planning to start a Van Gogh: Starry Night Over the Rhône. My current WIP for cross-stitch is a bookmark of the Great Wave - no pictures, as I've done some of it and got thoroughly disheartened by seeing all the french knots that would need doing!
I've got about 5 or 6 kits to stitch, so my task list is:

    - Finish the Great Wave
    - Finish the Winnie the Pooh set for my stepdaughters 19th birthday in August
    - Finish the Harry Potter set for my daughters 9th birthday in August
    - Finish the enormous dreamcatcher stitch that has been an ongoing project for about 15 years - I don't even want the thing at this point, but knowing it is unfinished is a constant low level stress
    - If and when I finally finish my stash... buy the "Visit LOTR" sets from countrymagicstitch.com. I have my eye on the Mines of Moira, Erebor, Mordor, and the Shire. They will make a lovely addition to my office, when I finally move, and get everything set up.

    :)
I did the full scale great wave last year. I absolutely hate French knots and am rubbish at them. I used seed beads for the water drops and I think they worked well. Will find the picture I have of it.

It is now framed on my wall. Took a whole year! But it is gorgeous. If you look closely you can see the beads.

    Hi everyone!

Welcome @foxandflowers - lovely work and you have some list!! Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Yes @daisy_1571 I seriously need an exit strategy. Trouble is, DH worries about money (he was made redundant twice and one time was out of work for a year) so it's his biggest fear. We just need to keep going for a while longer...

I remember you stitching The Wave @Drawingaline and was such a good idea to use seed beads. I'm rubbish at French knots!

I managed a little stitching on Tuesday evening whilst DH was at his brothers' house. I was out last night but fully intend to do some stitching tonight, tomorrow and Saturday. DH is away camping so I can please myself. I need to pop to BIL's house first to drop off some dinner as he's having a tough time right now. Even that hour on Tuesday helped motivate me to carry on - you're so right @daisy_1571 about little and often.

    Right, back to the grind.
    Take care all

    Hi all,

True to my word I did approx. 1.5 hours of stitching last night. Stopped before it became a chore or I mis-counted. I'm doing various shades of brown atm for the counter top with a flash of 3 shades of yellow for a ribbon bobbin! I'm seeing a film after work so depending on how I feel once home I'll do a little more. Fully intend to do housework type jobs tomorrow early doors then stitch from late afternoon.

    Have a good evening all

Hi all, lovely to catchup with your updates, i'm fine just bobbing along :) My latest seascape update, not done much again plus slow going on the trees but this is almost half the project finished.

Welcome foxandflowers, the fox is so cute, good luck with your to do list and i like those LOTR stitches.

Drawingaline, my friend has just bought The Great Wave too, i though it looked familiar, your WIP is coming along great.

Daisy, your cat stitch is really lovely pleased you are more than halfway.

Coxy, well done on your JoGLE efforts, enjoy your craft time and i hope the weather improves so you can get out in the garden.

All done and the grid has been removed. Just the mammoth task of doing the backstitching now.

Its fun sometimes but some of the cats and some of the flowery bit are 3 stitches this colour, 2 stitches that colour. Feels like you can't get going but other bits are great to do. I do love how colourful its becoming, cheers
