    Hi all,

    Loving all the updates xx

Nothing to report on the crafting front. We went to Marrakech for DH's 50th birthday - had a great time. Had a full on weekend of entertaining first the outlaws then my family. Lots of work and not always appreciated especially when SIL told me she wanted to go home and BIL "didn't give a (insert expletive here)" I mean who actually says that to their host (and no she wasn't drinking).

Anyhoo! I'm off back to Scotland on Saturday for more JoGLE walking. This time Lockerbie to Lancaster which is a heck of a long way and please Lord give us the strength and foot power to do it! I have almost packed. We are meeting DS1's FIL2B tomorrow as he's over from the States. We have lunch at the wedding venue so looking forward to that.

Hope you're all doing okay and hugs to those struggling.
Hope the Easter bunny pays you a visit - I have mini eggs for my train picnic  ;)

Coxy, good luck on the next leg of your JoGLE journey, i'll be following along on FB. Glad you had a great time celebrating, no need from your SIL & BIL, do nothing for their special days, haha.

Update on my current project. The gridlines are working so well, it means I don't have to keep counting and I can concentrate on one colour at a time all over the pattern.

14th March to today.   Lots of white for the next while which doesn't show up or look anything until the surrounding colours and outlines go in.  Very pleased that I'm now over the halfway point/fold line of the chart as flipping it up and down or having the whole chart open was time-consuming and a pain in the neck.

Hope everyone well and had great weekend

Coxy seriously impressed with the Jogle progress on FB. Those backpacks are enormous! Great progress Daisy and Nmm. Those cats are so cute.
DaL inspired by the speedy progress you’re making having gridded the Aida first, I also tried it for the sampler. I’m hoping it will mean less frogging. Still started in the middle section although most of this will be left to fill in when baby is born. I’m tempted to pull threads out as I go will see how it goes.

    Morning all,

Thanks for all the good wishes for my recent JoGLE stage - very much appreciated! For those that don't know, DSis and I are walking John O'Groats to Lands End for mental health charities. Have now done John O'Groats to Arkholme which is 10 miles north of Lancaster. We will resume our hiking in September to do a bit more.... Have PM'd you @Charly27 x

All that walking means (yes you've guessed it!) no crafting from me for a while. I did get the sewing machine out to fix a pair of DS2's trousers but the whole bobbin casing fell apart, so had to use my little JLewis kiddy one which worked okay. I've contacted the local sewing machine repair shop to see if they can fix it and also service it as it was a wedding gift (almost) 26 years ago and I've never had it done (please don't eye roll @Charly27 !!).

DH is going away Thursday to Monday, camping with his mates, so I'm hoping to craft during the evenings. I want to get some more done on the Haberdashery Shop and also start some crocheted bunting for my craft room - now have an idea of what I want to do, just need to get on with it!!

I have never gridded my aida but seriously thinking I should have done so for the HShop! The pattern is over 2 pages of a magazine and it's a bit tricky keeping track.

All that walking amongst Spring lambs and birdsong makes me really want to retire! Honestly it's so lovely taking a break from the office/the politics (literally)/daily drudge that it really makes you think! A few more years and hopefully I'll be able to cut my days and have time to do the things I really want to do. My garden is in need of attention too but the only day I had free this past weekend (Sunday) it was torrential rain most of the day which is just typical!

Have a good day all and keep up the good work

can thoroughly recommend retirement coxy. I retired at 50 and have never missed a day in the office.   Keep that goal in sight   :)

  • Hi, can I join? Long time cross-stitcher, recently picked up diamond painting and enjoyed it thoroughly. It's like a quicker, stabbier cross-stitch. Did this fox for my daughter's room, and am planning to start a Van Gogh: Starry Night Over the Rhône. My current WIP for cross-stitch is a bookmark of the Great Wave - no pictures, as I've done some of it and got thoroughly disheartened by seeing all the french knots that would need doing!
I've got about 5 or 6 kits to stitch, so my task list is:

    - Finish the Great Wave
    - Finish the Winnie the Pooh set for my stepdaughters 19th birthday in August
    - Finish the Harry Potter set for my daughters 9th birthday in August
    - Finish the enormous dreamcatcher stitch that has been an ongoing project for about 15 years - I don't even want the thing at this point, but knowing it is unfinished is a constant low level stress
    - If and when I finally finish my stash... buy the "Visit LOTR" sets from countrymagicstitch.com. I have my eye on the Mines of Moira, Erebor, Mordor, and the Shire. They will make a lovely addition to my office, when I finally move, and get everything set up.

    :)
