Hugs @DrCarrie
happy shiny new week day everyone 😊
Had a nice day yesterday. Walked to nearby lake and had a coffee and a slice of tortilla, then walked up a hill where you can see for quite a way across the city. Want to go early one morning to see the sun rise.No NSD as did the weekly shop (which will finally be deserving of its name this week- as I refuse to allow than 1 top-up shop)
bf went out in the evening to watch some football and I stayed home and ironed all my tops for the week and batch cooked roasted butternut squash soup. Wanted to make bread but decided I’d only do so if soup turned out well. It did, so I did. So my bread fetish continues and the ban is already broken. But I didn’t buy it so it doesn’t count!
grateful for freshly baked bread with butter, a giggle reading horoscopes in bed this morning, for coffee also in bed!Student loan £5655

I'm in bed, wrapped in layers of comfort (they have cotton waffle robes). I haven't left the room since I got in - I have a choice of 3 ways to bathe a walk in bath with hand held and fixed shower fitments and on the other side a fold down chair with a power shower overhead. The bathroom is bigger than the bedroom - there are 2 sinks and a toilet as well and safety bars everywhere. I had a bath for the first time in about 4 - 5 years.
Buses this morning had dropped into a black hole. I had supposedly missed one by a minute but hadn't seen any buses crossing as I was walking up the approach road. 3 buses went into the bus station (I was at the first stop out of the bus station) but none came out. The bus I missed (another passenger's comment suggested that one didn't exist either) should have been 11 mins past, the one I hoped for was 18 minutes past, a bus finally emerged from the bus station at half past. Two gormless people were sitting in the 'elderly and disabled' seats - they might have been older than me but the other seats had people on crutches and using shopper trolleys so I couldn't go further down the bus and the others who boarded with me were all stuck. I just said 'one of you is going to have to move' and the woman glared at me but stood up and then stood up for the whole of her journey (4 stops) so she obviously did not need the seat (there were empty seats further back).
So I missed my train (but the ticket is open, just carried on an hour later than planned) so picked up a bake and a gingerbread man at G r e g g s and then made my way to the platform. Some changes but they've kept most of the original buildings. They'd put in new toilets and the waiting room had super comfy seats and charging points added but they'd left the old fashioned tiling. I stayed inside until a few minutes before the train came. Walked toward the train and a young rail worker appeared from nowhere and asked to help me on the train - she pointed out the handle and asked me to get myself on the train and she lifted the walker (with two full bags for life) onto the train and then my suitcase.
Very quiet train with lots of space - I could have moved to a seat with a table but was just happy to be on my way and I looked around and it was quite a nice day. Lots of the journey was through farmland (not a lot happening - only one field with sheep) and it was interesting to see new builds and work out what used to be there - Leyland paints has gone and I think one lot of new housing was on the Royal Ordnance Factory site (they'd kept part of one of the building and added new wings).
I ran out of time for making sandwiches so just put all the bits (bread, meat, lots of salad + crisp and carrot cake in my bag. Ate in my room and did the unpacking a bit at a time whilst watching Morse (not one of the ones I've seen a hundred times) as I was feeling very wobbly (Bolton station was lots of walking even with lifts and gently sloping walkways.
Grateful for trains and buses and hotels (room was expensive but it was the only one that ticked all the disabled boxes and it's worth every penny).11 -

Evening turtlesMy non working day today, although I had to work for an hour, will make sure I claim that time back!Started the day by walking my friends' dog, weather was crisp but I wrapped up well and was nice and toasty. Came home and did some chores in between reading my book. Got everything done on my to do list, including chasing up my new bank as haven't received my debit card. Hopefully sorted but have to go into the branch to collect the replacement, and the branch is only open 9.30-3.30 Monday to Friday. Not sure how anyone who works is meant to make those times!
Did some pilates, dyed my hair and went for a massage, so has been a spend day. Masseuse found a lump on my lower back where all my pain tends to come from, so I need to book an appointment with the doctor ASAP to have it checked out.NSD's - 13Healthy food days - 14Workouts this week - 610
