Bit brighter today - went downstairs and started ferrying accumulated rubbish and recycling to the bins, bagged the clean dried washing from the TD to bring back upstairs. The cooked chicken breasts have been frozen individually until I have time to deal with them, brisket and veg cooked with it all eaten (some lumps left that will be curry or stew). Was trying to beat DS3 to the couch but he woke much earlier than the past few days and has sent me back to my room before I make him ill will my germs.
Don't feel like cooking but I'm doing quite well with cheese triangles, grapes and nibbling the rest of the watercress from the bag (had brisket and watercress buns yesterday as some of the buns had blue spots - not the most economical use of the brisket but it was good and used several things that would otherwise go off)

Feeling a bit better today too. Took the kids to the park (although driving feels still funny, sth wrong with my perception or sth). While they played I went for a walk, thinking things through. I won't bore you with the whole thought process but my main "revelation" was that I need to slow down and just focus on 1-3 small goals with the biggest impact (like not drinking and weekly budgeting) and the rest can wait or will fall into place automatically (like getting up early). The last few years I always wanted to change 20 habits at once, while redecorating the house and learning a new language iykwim. And failed miserably on day 3 or after a month latest...
So today I won't stress about the things I haven't done but sit down with my book because noone needs me just now and feel content. Focus on changing the feeling of it being Friday and I deserve a drink later to unwind. I'm unwinding already 😌DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/2511 -
NSD No 6 - The weather was shocking so we had a root around in the freezer and decided we didn't really need anything desperately. Some lovely home made lentil soup for lunch and a cheese and onion quiche that I had totally forgotten about for dinner. Actually quite a lot in there that I'd forgotten about!
Payday today so all the budgets sorted for the next four weeks. Money moved around and everything is looking ok.
I couldn't sleep again last night so was reading well into the wee small hours. Book number 2 should be finished tonight.
Another lazy day as I can't quite get myself motivated at the moment.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Today I am grateful for a lovely email from dc's head of year, for a good day at work, for finally pinning down a couple of students about their exams, for chicken and hm chips to look forward to, for fresh bed linen.

NSD #4 for me todayStill feeling poorly, along with most of the rest of the population, or at least that is how it seems. I was up just after 4.30 this morning due to coughing, and have been to work today, so I am pretty tired. I took a shepherds pie base out of the freezer last night, so dinner was just a matter of doing some mash to go on top, and heating it up, and cooking some veg to go on the side. Did extra mash so that I (or OH, as he likes doing this) can make fishcakes tomorrowLooking forward to the weekend, hoping to catching up with a few jobs that have evaded me over the last couple of days, due to work and not feeling great.Grateful today that it didn't rain, and for an easy, yummy dinner.9

6/1 and it was NSD 4, but weekend off work, so probably spends at least 1 of the next 2 days. New wellies have arrived so the old ones will go straight to the bin.
I've also been reading the decluttering thread as I have FAR too much "stuff"- but how do you get out of the "but I can't throw it out as I might need it one day and then I'll have to pay to replace it" mindset? I mean if it hasn't been used in several years what are the chances that next week I will suddenly need it!
I'm not long home from work, so need to sort dinner (heat up leftovers), and collapse on the sofa with some easy to watch TV (Emily in Paris-so bad it's great). Sometimes hibernation is very appealing 😁🐢10 -

Welcome to an other week - ds2 now still has health issues with his stomach. Hope it does not turn out to be an ulcer. Was going to take him to a and e, but he opted for sleeping in stead which sort of makes sense. So I have done my writing and my day 6 of 30 days of yoga, have done nothing in the week except managed to literally get back on my bike on Thursday and Friday but naughty fit app only picked up on Fridays bike ride.
Managed a few nsd days this week, have only really forked out on a bit of medication for ds2 and a top up food shop last night, so it's big shop day today.
Am still looking for a quote, will bring book if I have to go to a and e later and look for a quote.
And yes I am trying to reduce my greeds by doing instead of expecting - next step is parkrun, I convinced a friends daughter to volunteer there for her duke of e, lets see if they show up it's a but blustery out there.

@facethemusic I'm quite brutal, if it's something I'm unsure of but I haven't used it for say, 6 months, it goes. Same with clothes although I tend to keep those longer before getting rid. Obviously that doesn't extend to things like tools etc just stuff where I think "do I really need this?!" Having grown up with parents who are borderline hoarders I think I may take it to the other extreme. Although to be fair there's only been maybe 2 occasions where I've had to buy something again after getting rid, so it tends to work out.Didn't post yesterday as had a very long day. Started with pilates which was very much needed and enjoyable. I need to make sure I make time for these things even when I have a long day ahead. Went to collect my bike from being repaired, £35 spent. Worked from home for a couple of hours then had to drive to Cambridge for work. Had to pay for the Dartford tunnel, bought lunch and paid for parking (all reimbursable). Was in Cambridge until 5, but luckily the journey home was fine. I had to do another hour of work when I got home as well so it was a late finish. I made sure I submitted my expenses including mileage.Today will be another spendy day, OH and I are going up to London to a place called Dopamine Land (looks fun online) as a late Xmas present. Unfortunately there's no trains, I booked it before the strikes were announced, so we have to drive. Will probably get some lunch up there as well.Need to do a workout before we go anywhere to keep my streak going.NSD's - will remain on 3 unfortunatelyHealthy food days - 4Workouts this week - 7Hope everyone has a good weekend regardless of the weather! (Currently blowing a gale and raining here).11
