Well done on your first day back, round. I hope the key episode doesn't knock your equilibrium this morning.
Hope your DGD and DSiL are both doing well, Jazee.
We had a lovely day yesterday with DD&co and DS1&co. DD&co stayed overnight in a nearby Premier Inn and are meeting up with her dad and his second family for lunch later today, but first they are coming here to help me with my little list of jobs. I haven't heard from L the dog walker, so I shall need to take Rosie for a short walk along the lane, if the rain holds off - or I might send DGS1+2 out.
I have a GP nurse appointment at 11.15, for (hopefully ) my final wound check. After all that I shall put my feet up and SOFA and declutter zzz.

Morning all. Hope you're all keeping well.
OH and I spent most of - if not all of - yesterday in bed. Me throwing up and him making regular toilet tripsthink when our niece threw up on Christmas Eve night time it might not have been from excitement... Feeling better now (90%) but still a little weary and tender. Neither of us have actually been unwell since early last night though.
Despite that the Christmas tree is down and the parcel I need to send is packed up and ready to go once I've showered. Christmas decs mostly put away, just the last bits to run through the DW (we have some nice special Christmas mugs we store during the year) and then it can all go in the loft for another 11.5 months!
OH is hoovering the living room as I type and we might - depending on if they want us - see some friends this evening. Working in healthcare I get a bit twitchy about going out too soon after a bout of D+V£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January10 -
osteopathy appt decluttered - ultrasound to check tendons is planned, along with a physio appointment. I must say I am getting VERY good value from the NHS

I probably wouldn't bother transferring the marmite thouWow, Mum too Many. You earned those chocolates! Hope the wellie sorting goes smoothly. They do take up a lot of space.Hope your car started after a little while, Round and the garage can track down the problem.Yes, Raphael, it would be worth making a file. That's an ongoing project that's been in the making for several years because I am a recipe hoarder. Every few years I chuck them all out because there are too many and also food tastes develop and the recipes I used to make and love no longer appeal. It's like painting the Forth Road Bridge this time around because I am forever asking myself the same questions - what weight of dried chickpeas so I need to soak to have the same quantity as one can? How much does a cup of all purpose flour weigh? Why do I persist in wanting to try American recipes - Oh, yeah, that'll be because there are some wonderful ones.I stripped the turkey this morning, and have unearthed and dusted off the slicer so that we can have wafter thin slices of turkey in the freezer for when I want to have a sandwich or make a quick supper. We've got masses of veggies in the fridge so we won't need to go shopping for quite a while. Belovéd asked where the shopping list was this morning - we haven't had one since 23rd December, and that's quite a record for us.Better is good enough.9 -
Ironic that my car is causing me more stress than my return to work don't you think? 🙃
kaz - the key fob battery is my best guess too. It's certainly the cheapest option to try first. I've researched on Google and opened the fob to see what battery I need.
In the meantime my car eventually started this morning- but only after I'd got Pops out of bed. Sorry Pops. Discovered that the village garage is closed until after the New Year. Thank you guys!!! And I was only 20 minutes late to work having alerted my supervisor to my plight. No problem - I simply left 20 minutes late too.
I seem to have learned the knack of starting the car now. (🤞) So the plan is to buy a key fob battery on my way home tomorrow. If that doesn't solve the problem I'll be landing at the garage on my way home on Tuesday afternoon. In the meantime Pops is on amber alert for taxi duty in the morning.
And my plan to have a QHC this afti has been shelved because I'm shattered.
Tomorrow is another day!
Love to all

I am very proud of myself as I have done a full level 3 in the kitchen and then in the bathroom, including de-gunking the plugholes.
I've also had washing out - sheets, a duvet cover and the tablecloth and napkins which are dry enough to iron.

Wow, Valli, I am impressed!
Made a trip to the local (but remote) farm shop/butcher to get supplies for feeding DSil and BiL tomorrow. When we came back, the mobile library was parked in the village. Tick - another longstanding task done - library card renewed. It expired 5 years ago apparently, and the Council deleted me off 2 years ago. Whoops.
DD went to small town to drop off her 3 sold parcels, then went into town itself. Promptly came home as people were queuing for parking.
Made a delicious smelling stock from the chicken carcass. Drained off the bones - and promptly inadvertently poured the whole pan of stock down the sink. I could have cried, not helped by DH asking if I meant to do it. Errr - what do you think???
Kitchen tidied, pan washed up, fridge sorted.
HB - I also have (ahem, 3 😳) folders of recipes as well as the loose pages. I did a beautiful index at the front of one folder, colour coded it, then changed the order of the recipes, threw some away etc etc. Like you say, it’s like the Forth Bridge…one day, I will sort it out. Maybe. Oh, and I just took out 2 more cookery books on my newly renewed library ticket. I think I have a recipe addiction. But no idea what we are having for dinner this evening!9 -

Oh Fayolle thats exactly the sort of thing I would do. And Round glad you have a plan for the car. Hope it starts tomorrow x
Feeling a bit out of sorts, this cold isnt shifting and I feel strangely nauseous, starting to wonder if that's something to do with taking paracetamol every four hours for the last few days or if it's just the bug. Have dispatched DH and DS2 off to the shop to find something for their tea - neither of them fancied anything we have in the house and I cant face food.
Have had a little walk along by the river, ran the hoover around and put some clean washing away. I need my routine I think.10
