Mumtoomany, you always amaze me with how much you pack in. Spotted you on Fashion on a Ration the other day - I have lurked there for quite a while, and they are all so talented and knowledgeable. Good luck!
So apparently today is Saturday. Whoever knew? Today I just have to fly, even if not as much as my head is planning. And some of these decorations need to be sneaked down. The troops will likely want them to stay longer, but unlucky for them.
The kitchen window is somehow jammed open, so that’s a job for DH this morning. I have a candle lit in the dining room to remember our friend who was killed in an accident a year ago.
Right, second brew is getting cold, and I need to catch up Round.

This with bells and whistles.  I will update properly later.  After 2 weeks at home we are returning DS2 to the big city, I have already shed a quiet tear, I will not, repeat not, get upset in front of him.  Been to Li@l to get food for DS to take back.

Bloke who was due at 9.30am to give me a quote for some work I want doing arrived at 9.10am! so I'll see what price he comes back with.

Waiting on neighbour who want to 'store' wine here in the fridge, for her party tonight, (we are invited) OH has said he doesn't think he will make it to midnight.

Birds / deer fed.

It has taken me 2 days to begin to recover from Wednesday (when this house was full of people) and I'm still tired.  Not helped by the fact that I can't lie down to sleep on my side, so I sit propped up against a pile of pillows, with gravity causing me to slide down slowly until I wake up because I can't get my breath.

Yesterday I took down all the Christmas cards and threw out the dead holly, which was annoying me.  I find I can't cope with clutter for long.

So far this morning I have
- tidied my bedroom, the LR, study-bedroom and utility
- spent 2 hours looking in vain for a baptism record for my 3x-great-grandfather's first child, whereas all the rest of his large family were christened as a matter of course, following the custom of the time
- eaten breakfast 
- re-loaded the DW so that all the breakfast stuff fitted in, and started it.

I need to take Rosie for a short walk today (only about 300 yards), but I might just go back to bed for an hour first.  Decadent.

Cardboard ripped up and recycled. 10 rinsed cans recycled. I can see my draining board woot woot.

P & S  called for a coffee. S left with a box of donut bath fizzers and P left with an empty tin witha picture of a stag on it - he'll soon find something to keep in it.  Every little helps 😉

Right. Renew TV licence is my next job

Morning all (just)

Thank you round for such a lovely message, so nice to be amongst supportive peeps.
A productive morning here and I’m feeling good. 

2 x wm done and on airer, number 3 just swishing
bedding changed so nice clean sheets for new year!
whole house hoovered, vac emptied
bathroom and en suite swished
litter trays emptied, washed, dried and refilled 
all bins emptied
dh sorted through his work clothes resulting in a bag for charity which he’s already taken and a bag for the bin, result!
DH did a tiny top up shop

my plan for the rest of the day is to get out for a walk and then curl up with my book. I’m unlikely to see midnight so wish you all a happy new year now whatever you are doing.

Round, you are a hard taskmaster 😇. Ensuite and downstairs toilet  **shudder** scrubbed back to cleanliness. The bathroom will follow, but my bet is on DD washing her hair before she leaves, so I’ll wait until then. Bedroom dusted, I now need to allow both the vacuum cleaner and the mop to make a long lost acquaintance with various floors around the house. Wm x1 done and damp washing languishing.
DH declared the kitchen window unmendable, needing a “person” to fix it. Enter Super Flylady **swishes her cape for effect** brandishing a screwdriver and a can of WD4o. Result - window now opens and can be securely shut. Hah!
Cards are down, I will spend a happy half hour conjuring up gift tags for next year and packing those away with the wrapping. Rice pudding to go in the sc, as I overestimated the milk requirements.

TV licence has been renewed. 

Next: recycle empty biscuit tin and empty chocolate box.

Bathroom now clean, vacuumed through the house if you don’t look at the stairs and landing 😉, kitchen and all bathroom type floors mopped, DD’s bedding changed. Rice pudding cooked and a bowlful set aside for Round. WULTD. DH has taken DD to the station to start her shenanigans. Flopping for 5 minutes then it is gift tag making time.
