Hi girliesHappy 2023 to you all. We went to a party *shudder* - kids loved it though.
YES YES YES to anyone who wishes to join in on my January quest, I’d be delighted to have your company! We can manage without a trip to the shops at all, the challenge is to ensure we do exactly that. We have plenty milk and bread in the freezer, and heaps of other food. Here’s to a frugal January!
It’s raining heavily here, I’m heading to bed xx12 -
Morning fly peeps. Happy new year!
Poppet slept on top of our bed, shaking because of the fireworks but is calm now.
Just having first cuppa of the day. Poppets food being prepared.
I have joined the 'no buying anything new in January' challenge, obviously doesn't include food.
I have a plan in my head to spend 15 minutes in the garden each day at the end of the dog walk while I've still got my scruffys on.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Happy New year to you all. I hope it's a healthy one, especially for those who have been ill this year.
No fire works here, just OH and I awake to see in the new year, in front of the wood burner.
I'm with you, almost, asb. I can't go a while month without shopping, we run out of milk at least twice a week and no room to freeze any. But I am planning on a very minimal spend month. And I'll cheer you on from the sidelines.
Did almost no flying yesterday! Even when S-i-L came back from his run, the grandchildren wanted to be with us! They are all out this morning so I'm going to try and do something/anything.
Have a good day all, hugs, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.10 -
Me again.
I'm dressed, bed is made, rubbish is out, dry washing put away and I've done a quick hoover through.
Now having breakfast.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
HNYWe went next door for NY, a most heated argument broke out between 2 people over (of all things) how to cook fried bread! they went on and on at each other in very loud voices, the sort of things where you don't know what to do or say next.No firewrks here, but they hapeen today about 4 miels away. OH wants to go, and pub / meal 1st, I really don't think he has any idea about how many 000's of folk go to this, the chance of getting served etc quickly etc are very low, and as for parking, I suggested we took the bus (if therei s one there) and walked back, he doesn't like that idea.AnywayCats fedKitchen sorted, no need for dinner tonight as we are eating out! (finger crossed)Other general stuff done.ASB I will be watching from the side lines and cheering you on, I will try to eat down the freezer this month, but will have to buy bread / milk / veg / fruit.Best wishes to all.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Morning all,
Not long after I posted last night DS awoke in agony, he had severe cramps / growing pains in both legs and was inconsolable. He finally went back to sleep about 5am.
He is okay now so we are having pigs in blankets butties for brekkie, then heading for a walk. The fire is already lit, so an afternoon in front of it with a film beckons afterwards.
I can safely class this as NSD 1/31.
Big love to all xx9 -
Gas and electric taken / photographed and entered online, gas seems about right for the month, but the electric has wacked up this month, sat here trying to figure out why. Come up with so far, dark early morning, early afternoon, Christmas tree lights, OH leaving stuff on / plugged in.I have been to recheck I read it right.Toast eaten, OH still in bed, cats out chasing pheasantsBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Morning all - if I type really fast, it will still be before midday.
Happy new January to all of you lovely people xx
I stayed up (in my pjs) until about 2 minutes past midnight with DH. In the WAC at 3am, finally gave up and came downstairs to read my book. I had a personality meltdown in the wee hours, which led to floods of tears this morning. I don’t do the whole resolution thing, as I am adept at breaking them within 24 hours, but I think that I need to remind myself to Be Kind, and that is all that matters. Obviously, if I could lose all the excess weight along the way, that would be excellent, but I don’t think it works like that! 🤣
No great plans for today, apart from picking up DD from the station. I am de-Christmassing the DR in stealth mode, so that it isn’t noticed until it is a fait accompli.
ASB, I will need to spend on milk (milkman so already budgeted for) and fruit, but beyond that, the groaning freezer and side splitting cupboards should hold good, fingers crossed.
Have a lovely peaceful day, one and all x8 -
