Hi all
ASB I like your attitude. I have thought a bit about what 2023 is going to bring for me too, and it's definitely going to be on my terms. I also want to be brave and try new things though.
Round, hope it went well today, you are an amazing person so dont take any you-know-what from anyone x
I have weird stabby chest pains going on which is clearly part of this strange bug I have picked up, but other than being a bit tired dont feel ill. Took DS1 for his hospital treatment and had a wander around the shops today. Feet up now with one of the new books DS2 bought me.
I will have to fly a little tomorrow, we have parents coming for tea on Friday and the hoover needs to be introduced to the carpet.8 -

Evening all.
Well done Round.
What a day! DGD2 was unwell so we had to take her to the docs. Now on antibiotics. She's been a really good girl and is now in bed although for how long is anyone's guess.
DSiL's op has been completed after eleven hours. Waiting on a full update from DD but seems all went well.
My head is pounding so I'll probably take some parrots and head upstairs myself soon.Spend less now, work less later.11 -

Morning all
A couple of busy but enjoyable days with family and also doing some shopping in the sales (all budgeted and planned items) we did treat ourselves to lunch out yesterday too.Today is my ‘on call’ day so won’t be going out, I have a couple of calls booked with my overseas team and need to keep an eye on what’s what with work emails etc but will be able to get a bit of flying done in between.Meal plan done last night to ensure all remaining bits are being used, DH will do a small shop today for things needed, he’s also said he will tackle some of the housework.Have a good day xx8 -
Morning xx
Seconds out. Day 2.
I'm up, made my bed, sploshed bleach down the loo, dressed, had breakfast and I'm supping my brew. Sweetie is not at all impressed by the sudden return to a considerably earlier getting up time. But he can doze all morning to catch up on his zzzzzzs.
Feargal started first turn of the key yesterday morning. Yayyy. But he would NOT start when it was time to come home. 😳. I'm convinced it's something to do with the immobiliser not the actual engine. Luckily I had my spare car key (manual type) in my bag and I decided to give it a try. Vroom first turn. Vroom first turn when I left DS's. Vroom first turn when I left Mr C00p. Plan: to continue to use manual key and take Feargal to the garage on my week off in January. Hoping it's just a new battery required but we'll see.
I was exhausted when I arrived home yesterday. Thank goodness for a phased return. Hopefully less adrenaline will be pumping through my system today and I'll have spoons left over to flutter this afternoon. There's stuff everywhere.... a QHC this afti will MAD 🙂
Love to all

Honey_Bear said:Well done on your first day back Round.I too have a recipe hoarding problem Fayolle, and the worst of it is I can never find the recipe I want, so I print off another copy and so there's another bit of paper to add to the file, which is covered in scraps of paper that say things like '6 tbsps = 1/3 cup' and marmite smears.
I probably wouldn't bother transferring the marmite thou

Morning all. Sorry you car is playing up Round, not you can get it fixed soon.
Good start yesterday. As well as the normal DW, etc, I managed to get the two book cases and their contents, that were on the landing, back into the spare bedroom. They had been there for a couple of weeks, while the room was plastered, skirtings fitted and painted. I also showed two grandchildren how to make a corn dolly, help one make a glove puppet, made up some Lego with the third, helped with a paw patrol puzzle, cooked for seven and decluttered some chocolates.
Today I plan to sort wellies.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.9
