Well after my first day I can............
- Play vids and mp3's from a NAS drive.
- Stream stuff from youTube and AppleTrailers (youT searches seem to bring up less than if on web - and some clips end early).
- I have album art displayed in my library mode of my music.
- I have watched tv recorded by MediaPortal.
Might try a different skin. Get more visualisations and tweak further.
I haven't bought a remote yet. Looked on eBay but not many genuine ones out there. Anyone know anywhere you can buy them from?Girls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.
I would rather drown with you than watch the surf with someone else0 -
Finally got one, so thanks to the OP!:T
Got it in Hanley (the higher store), and they had a couple more out the back. My had only come in on Saturday too so it may be worth trying again if somewhere has been out of stock before.
Only downside I bought a pre-owned copy of Forza Motorsport with it and it doesn't work. Loads a bit then comes up with an error message saying the desk is kn*ckered, so will have to take it back tomorrow. Got to search for a DVD control now then I'm all systems go.0 -
Just obtained one from Game maidenhead - who said they had 20 in stock (but 19 now).
They were very helpful too - and hunted out a copy of splinter cell as well (0.98p)
Now got to find time to make the XBMC! And persuade the rest of the family it's a good idea - not just 'another project'
ANd thanks to the guys for all the other previous posts on XBMC - managed to fill my Sunday evening reading and researching it all.
G0 -
once you get xbmc running you will wonder how you managed without it.
be a long time before my olf xbox is replaced for media playback0 -
gamestation are selling pre-owned xbox remotes for £20

Thanks to OP.
Got my XBOX at Game Chester before Xmas and getting bits together since then:
Splinter cell (1.00 blockbuster)
Xploder USB adapter (.97p at Currys, also got several games 1p to 97p)
DVD remote (2.00 cashconverters)
XBOX mem card (1.99 at gamestation - had to hunt around for one of these!!)
Halo (7.99 game)
Installed mod and XBMC last night, great stuff! and all at bargin price.
P.S If using the Xploder USB adapter method and Krayzie Ndure, dont install Xploder software, instead download Action replay software and use that.0 -
I couldn't get the Xbox to recognise my Poundland USB card reader, so now I'm waiting impatiently for a usb key I ordered last week.
I read somewhere that you can use a program called Xplorer360, and then you don't need Action Replay at all. Can't test this till I can get the Xbox to read a usb thing though.
Only thing is, doing it the Ndure Splintercell way, I seem to have two folders called udata, how do I put them both on the memory card without overwriting one of them because they both have the same name?Ahh, but they have another folder inside, do I end up with one udata folder with two folders inside it?

HI every one
does any one has any idea how and chipped Xbox running EvolutionX can suddenly for no reason revert back to original installation running Microsoft operating system with no EVOX at start up and therefore only run original Xbox DVD games?
many thanks0 -
Got mine all up and running and in the kids room! Bought a second controller from gamestation, however it's one of the original controllers - they're bloody massive! Luckily mine had a dvd controller in the box, makes it easier to use than with the controller! Thanks to the O.P, very happy bunny!:j0
