    Thanks for the replies, I went back and flashed the dashboard with unleash x instead of evo x. Then went and manually added an apps folder by ftp and stuck the xbmc files in there. XBMC then showed up under 'Applications' and I can run it from there fine. Just setting up now (after the kids have finished playing the 'Big !!! Emulator Disc I downloaded!)

    I have just bought a x box for £19.99 We have 3 Game stores in the Bolton area I rang 2 of them and were told out of stock the 3rd at Reebok stadium had some in I got one with two joy pads in :j so they are there you just have to look

    Well,
    I have it loaded. And playing music from a NAS on my network.
    So far I'm as blown away as everyone else seems to be.
    But.....
    When I pay MPEG video it is out of step with sound and not refreshing very well. I suspect that if I can sync the sound to picture then I may be able to live with the poor refresh.
    Girls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.

    I would rather drown with you than watch the surf with someone else

    Just got one from Birmingham, a 1.4.

    press start,select the audio speaker symbol
    then(from memory) its a slider soption for sync

    TBH ive only had to use it on a couple of films due to encoding

    to the best of my knowledge the xbox doesnt look for usb devices as media storage
