Just bought my XBOX this afternoon. Unfortunately only one controller and no extras. Still, not bad for £19.98, and I didn't realise they came with a 12 month warranty!

Dont know if anyone can help me.

I had everything working like a dream then the mrs turned on the xbox by the open drawer button and now it has gone the shape of the pear.

When I try to access my external hard dirve it is saying it cannot access the remote server.

Any ideas?

to be honest I dont know as my mate did it but I think it is an evox dashboard.

Has a menu showing pictures, music, movies, news and weather (I think in that order) and a scrolling news bar along the bottom

Thats the XBMC dashboard. What happens if you press the power button to switch it on? Shouldn't be too difficult to fix, needs to FTP back into the box and sort the files out.

Wondering if anyone can help. I have a modded Xbox with XBMC installed and an external hard drive that is USB and Lan with FTP capability. I have been trying to connect Xbox to drive but my settings must be wrong. I have looked at numerous websites (http://www.xbox-scene.com, http://www.smdepot.net, etc.) but am still stuck!! If anyone has a similar setup can they let me know what FTP, login settings etc. they used.

I managed to pick one up today on a trip to King's Lynn, for £19.98 (they had two more boxes on the floor when I got mine). I also found a copy of Splintercell for 99p in Gamestation, no idea if it is the version I need though!

I'm planning on going for the usb method of modding it as the cable is cheaper than the other thing. Anyone know if it will work using a poundland card reader as a usb key? If not, I'll have to buy a usb key to use.

I don't really know what I'm doing, but it'll be a fun little project to play with

*Edit* mine had a dvd remote in the box, which I was very pleased with!

Just got my XBOX out of its packaging and found it must have come from a smokers home as it whiffs a bit of stale smoke!

Think I might go back and get another one as the DVD player on my daughters portable has broken!
