Morning everyone, it's great to see all of your updates and well done to those finished! I'll be going up until the end of December and hadn't really earmarked this money for Christmas spend itself.
Here's my October update. This month I saved £67.34, which brings my total to £529.27. Getting there! Thanks, as ever, ES, and have a great time in London.1 -

Hello Each,
I’ve got a busy(ish) day tomorrow so would like to take advantage of a quiet day today and give my updates for November. I’m going to add a further £700 to the pot to give a total of £3400! That just leaves December on this challenge and then we are done!Obviously, this being the very first challenge I’ve actively been involved in has shown me just what can be achieved over the course of just one year savings wise…and have completely surpassed and surprised myself with what we’ve achieved.
With this in mind I have decided that next year I will be committing myself to the £12,000 in a year challenge that @enthusiasticsaver suggested. I’m slightly nervous about this challenge, not least because of the large numbers involved every month. However, with a bit of planning I’m confident I can give it a really good shot and stand a very good chance of achieving the goal…wish me luck lol!I know it’s a bit cheeky but, if possible, could I be considered for participant number 6 of that challenge please @enthusiasticsaver as I understand that you will be administrating this challenge for next year…pretty please! This is because the number 6 has been my ‘lucky number’ throughout my life and I think I’m going to need all the help and luck I can get to successfully complete the challenge next year!
So, to confirm #86 Topscooby £700 for November 2023 giving a total balance of £3400 so far!£12k in 2025 #27 ( £7,000 / £12000 ) 🤞
£12k in 2024 #18 (£14,000 / £12,000)…Goal surpassed 🙏

Good result @Topscooby and glad you will be taking part in the £12k savings challenge. I have taken over administering the challenge this year with the help of another forum user but have yet to see if the original challenger will be taking back the reins next year. For that reason I had better not promise no 6 to you but maybe keep a look out for the new thread nearer to the end of December.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Payday today so my last payment of £12.74 #15
Thank you for your hard work in running this @enthusiasticsaver, it's been fun seeing how everyone got on and I'm very pleased with my Christmas nest egg. Makes me feel a bit more secure that Christmas won't end up being too expensive.

We’ve still got December to go and I’m hoping to be able to round up my total to a very satisfying total challenge balance of……???? lol! However, as everyone is only too well aware, December is a very spendy month so I don’t want to commit myself too early!
Absolutely understand about not being able to designate #6 to me just yet…I was just putting it out there that it would be my preferential challenge number…but I fully understand that I was being very cheeky/hopeful and jumping the gun a tad! Will definitely be looking out for the new thread coming in December and will post on there accordingly.
Out of curiosity, I had a quick look at the 1p challenge spreadsheet for this year and couldn’t help but notice that there are many people who have yet to add any funds to their account/challenge details! Is this something you experience every year? Do you expect this to happen? I’m only asking as it surprised me just how many accounts had a zero balance! I do understand, however, that people’s situations change along with their ability to commit financially to the challenge. As I type this and read back what I’ve written I realise just how nosey I’m being so I fully understand should you prefer not to comment.
Anyways, good luck everyone and further thanks to @enthusiasticsaver for all your continued efforts with this challenge…it really is appreciated. Have fun at the theatre and good luck with the new car…you will have to post up a photo and make us all jealous lol!
Cheers,
Andy 🙏
