For those who have enjoyed doing this years challenge look out for the new thread for 2024 as I have been asked by the forum team to set up the challenge again next year. I will put up a link here to the new thread. There is about five weeks left of 2023 so on the homeward straight now. I am not sure I will reach my target this year but I do at least have a new car bought out of savings so I am not beating myself up about it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Yayyy, #19 reporting in that I've just made my final weeks' payment to get to the finish line - so satisfying to finish colouring in the chart. Can't wait to get the tins opened up (I did two this year as had received a pay rise and didn't want the money to be wasted). Tins for next year already purchased - just need to print off my calendar and colouring in sheet and I will be ready to go.
This challenge can be quite challenging if you get behind - but crossing the finish line is definitely worth it.£2 coin savings club 2025 #1 £166 (2024 £692; 2023 £754; 2022 £472; 2021 £256; 2020 £358; 2019 £512; 2018 £404; 2017 640)Saving for Xmas 202 £1 a day #4 £365 / £365 3-6 month emergency fund challenge #48 £10,030 Save a penny a day 2024 #32 £ . / £667.95 £1000 emergency fund challenge #232 £1,007/ £1,000 (achieved Nov 2020)0 -
This has been a great introduction to the world of challenges on this forum. I’ve enjoyed committing to saving every month and reporting in this thread with updates….so thank you very much @enthusiasticsaver for organising and keeping this community so welcoming and encouraging in equal measure.
Ive decided I won’t be joining this challenge for 2024 ( sorry! ) but all is not lost as I am going to replace this challenge with the ‘12k in a year’ challenge instead
In the meantime I’m just calculating what my final payment for this challenge in December will be.
Keep going everyone…every little helps!

I have just pushed £29.15 over to the savings space for the last November payment so now a total of £439.56 with £228.39 to go to finish the challenge. I have coloured in up to £2.96 on my spreadsheet. That is a weekly payment of £45.68 so tad ambitious especially at this time of year but will give it a go.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Of course, 1st December marks the start of another year for me, so I will get the big payment into my new tins next week. Just makes it easier for Christmas as I get paid monthly so my December salary doesn't arrive until New Years Eve.£2 coin savings club 2025 #1 £166 (2024 £692; 2023 £754; 2022 £472; 2021 £256; 2020 £358; 2019 £512; 2018 £404; 2017 640)Saving for Xmas 202 £1 a day #4 £365 / £365 3-6 month emergency fund challenge #48 £10,030 Save a penny a day 2024 #32 £ . / £667.95 £1000 emergency fund challenge #232 £1,007/ £1,000 (achieved Nov 2020)1 -
