I have decided to withdraw from this challenge as I will be using the money towards a new car that I am buying with cash so clearing out a few savings accounts including the savings space containing my 1p challenge savings. Not planned but a great bargain came up  and mine is over 10 years old now and not ULEZ compatible so I am really pleased to  get it.

I will start again next year but we are rejigging our finances today to allow us to pay for the new car.  That is at least £550 towards it so I am pleased I have saved it.  I will still keep the spreadsheet up to date so keep going everyone else .

    Hi all,

Well done to @~FlowerPot~ on completing the challenge! Also to @enthusiasticsaver for keeping us all accountable - how exciting to have a new car!

I'm still going for the forseeable. My latest Friday update:
This week I have chosen the following random numbers:
    237, 47, 177, 113,186, 16 and 64 = 840 so £8.40 going into the pot.
NB. I received 80p interest yesterday. Number 80 had already gone from the spreadsheet so have split into 16 and 64 for yesterday and today.

    #45 new total is £525.39

I will have a think about next year - whether to go random again or do in order or even spread over the months.

  • So starting again now.

Having now sorted out the finances for my new car and paid for  the insurance adjustment I have been able to put £199 back into my savings space and ticked off 0.01 to 1.99.  I  am not sure if I will manage the whole 365 days but going to give it a  shot.  This money is being saved for our South Africa holiday next year so it will be moved into our  Yorkshire savings account at the end of the year.
