    They post you a filled application form which you need to sign and return.

    Now the wait for your passbook begins. Postmen are on strike tomorrow and Christmas eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day are bank holidays and so is 27th since Christmas Day falls on a Sunday.

    I have been wondering which will arrive first, Christmas or any news on my Christmas Saver application.

    If I was a betting person I'd be putting my money on Christmas arriving first  :D

    Maybe my account will be open by Christmas 2023.

    My cheque had been cashed but no account details so I emailed them and asked for the info so I could register for online banking and set up my SO.  I got the details within a day.  Now to wait for the activation code to arrive by snail mail!

    Today I just received mail for accounts I opened one week ago. Meanwhile, mail that was sent nearly four weeks ago (towards the end of November) has still not arrived.

    My Christmas 23 saver form and cheque were both dated the 1st of December and were posted on the 30th November and undoubtedly held up by the strike.

    I had a call last Wednesday (21st) to advise that my account would be opened as of the 6th.

    The cheque for my Christmas 23 saver is today showing as pending at my bank (meaning my £200 will depart my account tonight).

    I finally received my letter with passbook and docs on 23rd of Dec. The letter was daten 9th of Dec. The account was opened with zero balance as I did not enclose a cheque in my original application but have transferred my December amount this week, should be credited by either tomorrow or Friday. Online access has been requested, so, overall, considering the postal strikes, all went rather well B)
