Wife received her passbook today with zero balance.

Just did a faster payment to the account. Hopefully it will be credited in December. Not sure what would happen if it gets credited in January.

It will probably not show on your online balances in December but the payment will be backdated to today so she should be fine.

    Yes, I did
  • Still waiting for mine, anticipating I will miss the December payment now, ah well. To be fair to the Royal Mail workers their industrial action has been extraordinarily effective in my area. I think I’ve only received letters on three days in total since I sent my Monmouth application off in the end of November!

Effective ? That's not how i would describe the situation .....for me it's been more of an appalling, disasterous, stressfull, painfull and unnecessary time. I feel especially for all those people who didn't receive expected Christmas gifts. There may be more strikes to look forward to in 2023.

I agree but I feel even more sorry for those who have NHS appointment letters in the post. Not so long back my grandmother received a letter at about 11am telling her that she had an appointment at 2pm that same day. If that letter had arrived a few hours later she'd have missed it. There must have been quite a few missed appointments recently as a result  of all of this.

Interestingly (at least to me) I've just received an email thanking me for opening a new account and asking me to complete an online survey.  My cheque hasn't been cashed yet and nothing has arrived in the post.
I won't receive any post today as it's another Bank Public Holiday here so the wait goes on.  I'm now a bit more hopeful.

  • My Christmas 23 saver form and cheque were both dated the 1st of December and were posted on the 30th November and undoubtedly held up by the strike.

I had a call last Wednesday (21st) to advise that my account would be opened as of the 6th.

The cheque for my Christmas 23 saver is today showing as pending at my bank (meaning my £200 will depart my account tonight).

    Update:

I received my passbook today (3/1), the account was opened and credited on 22/12/22. Maybe I misheard! Account added to online service without mishap, current balance reads zero and pending. Just need to sort the S/O now
