Work on bathroom is making headway. Walls are pretty much ready for tiling now & I have ordered the bathroom suite which should be here on Friday. Accepted quote for roof and waiting for a date to start work (in the meantime having to make do with bucket! ) Got quote for radiators - I will go with it - its a little bit higher than other quote but is exactly what I want and will include a lovely heated towel rail.
I feel like I'm tied to the house what with the the work being done, having to be in for deliveries & people coming to give quotes etc... but I'm just accepting it now and going with the flow. I'll be bloody glad when its over though.....
Tasks
Got rid of 2 x black wheelie bins full of bathroom stuff (lovely neighbour let me fill their bin too!)
IN (running total 194)195. Beautiful BNWT Oasis skirt
OUT (running total 581)
195 . Wheelie bin full of green waste

@Crazycatlady2 I'm all for doing things in bits!
Doing things that can be done sitting down, and of course starting different thing. Started box with many envelopes with photos (Dad had put photos in envelopes and generally sorted). Have pulled out several envelopes to take when I see each set of cousins and one aunt as they will help identify people. Side with no older generation cousins are around 8/10 years older than me so remember grandparents etc more, and have thrown some out, and put some aside for DBro. Step 1 of a many stepped task.
Going through stationery and thrown out broken plastic zip bag and some paper, also lots of card put aside for someone who does collages with kids, and some plastic wallets to add to the folder pile for donation hub, ordered 2024 diary, and went for a walk, and paid in cheque, hassle with bank and long phone call with issue unresolved - but hope to resolve it and other bits tomorrow. Most time in tlc carriage.. Tomorrow will be tidying up mess on the table of many started but not completed tasks.
Also confirmed getting refund for phone I bought only to find out non EU!

I have a decluttering day planned for tomorrow. I am starting with easy tasks in the hope it spurs me on to tackle some more emotionally challenging areas. The plan is to be pretty ruthless rather than do a little bit and come back to it.MFW 2025 No. 7 £2331.07/£2700

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday was a bright rain-free day - blue skies & sunny. DH headed off at 10:00 to drop off bike for MOT then onto dentist for 2nd part of root canal. Back to pick up bike then home by 17:45 having got caught in traffic across London 😔 I went into Lewisham & dropped off 2 bags of stuff at CS + bought 3 books - Ann Cleeves Shetland series; posted letters; got cash; bought ciggies 😔 Left home at 14:15 & back by 16:15. Dinner was oven chips & baked beans with gammon for DH, gammon & egg for DSis, fried eggs for me. Wudupa.
Knock on the window at 03:00 - milkman paid 😉 I have finished watching Hinterland & depressing though the storyline was, I enjoyed it & admired the way that the main story covered all 3 series.
2307 - 2312 Office, kitchen & DSis bedroom recycling, cardboard box, drinks cans, uu deodorant can - recycled
2313 - 2319 Small bag of packaging, posh Recipe book, rigid documents case, unopened lavender bag, bubble wrap, sink drainer & mat, Bag of Christmas decorations from DH’s niece M - ALL to CS

Morning All, real life taking over and I'm tired. Darker evenings don't help. Slowly plodding with decluttering. We did a carboot last weekend and got rid of a few things. Any made money will go towards next year's holiday fund. Plan on doing another soon.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger could I have the link to the hat pattern please? Looks great and just the thing my OH will wear.

Morning all. Extra school run yesterday at short notice so missed the Family History zoom thingy I had signed up for. I will see if I can sign up for the next one. Went shopping with DS2 which was expensive but we did get a few Christmas bits which were on offer - Looking at 14 people on Boxing Day. I hope to catch first half of science meeting today before school run. After much mumbling and calls to dSonIL DS2 managed to put bed together for DGS4. It looks good - we then did a horrendous frog (Government form which did not really fit our circumstances but no room for free text) - it all had to be done on line then they wanted us to send I document in the post which is bonkers as no way to scan and attach documents to form. Oh well it's done and we just hope for the best. Will pop out and post letter this morning. I bought another box of Christmas cards so I should be able to finish writing them. I think I will get the stamps for the overseas ones when I go to Post office then I can just post them at end of the month.
1693 CS bags dropped off
1694 Giant frog done including letter to post
1695 Bed assembled for DGS4
1696 Spare under bed returned to DGD4's room - checked and there is space to put it up next to hers is she has a sleepover. I need to get a mattress bag as it does get dusty - there is space to have it made up ready to use if it was in protective cover. Saves storing duvet as well.
1697-98 At least 2 x 10 things put away
1699 Notebook used up whilst I was away. I've almost run out of partially used note books - will need to start using up loose paper (I have foot high pile of scrap paper used on one side only)
1700 New but broken picture frame disposed of - the sticky hangers didn't work
Not sure I will make the 2023 items for the year but I keep plodding away.
Right probably need to write a shopping list for Christmas food, a present list (mostly money nowadays) and a bit more tidying up. Will pop in BHF shop in town this afternoon to see if they have any tables which will suit for DGS4's room (for lego). My favourite car park for that end of town has gone (building diagnostic centre of something) - alternative (with same conditions - 2 hours free then also free after 2 pm - you could arrive at 12 and then stay as long as you like) is a multi storey which I don't much like. The other ones are all 2 hours free but you have to pay after that so I have to gauge my timings carefully.2025 Decluttering Campaign 1051/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅🏅) 🌟🌟🌟

Good morning, Thank you for my medal and flowers Mrs SD. Very much appreciated. Lovely knitting as always x
I have knitted a couple of Santa hats for babies for the Christmas fair the last two nights, they are cute. I will have a go at your scarf pattern soon. I have so many ideas and not enough time for all the crafts I would like to do. Also I have to pace myself with knitting as it hurts my arthritic hands.
My mobile hairdresser is coming soon,I have had her for well over 30 years. I have tried other people but there's not much can be done with my fine hair. She can make it look half reasonable.
Today is the day. All the boxes of Christmas decorations under the stairs are coming out yet again and are going to be ruthlessly sorted. I am a total magpie and love shiny Christmas decorations. Christmas is my happy place. I must say over the past few years I have let so much of it go. I used to have at least 4 trees at the big house.
Out 3 bras, only bought them in the summer but now too big. Also an envelope with what I can only describe as scrap book pictures, given to me by my Mum when I was young. They were given to her as a child from her Sunday school in the 1930's. I have sent them to the church shop. The manageress has messaged me again to thank me for all the donations.
New total 1229

I have been awol since visiting family in Nottingham in October. Everything is fine here - just been so busy with SA. We were talking to a retired SA officer who told us this ditty -
Mary had a little lamb
Perhaps it was a sheep.
It joined the Salvation Army
And died from lack of sleep.
I am making time for me when I can. We are volunteering at an Alpha course on Monday evenings and a new Bible Study is happening once a fortnight at a friend's house. I won't be going to the next Bible study as it is the day before our last table sale of 2023.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Fizz, I meant to pm you but got myself in a pickle 🙊 This is what plumduff sent me 😊 Just a quick note from me - I don’t have 5mm or 5.5mm needles so I used 4mm & 4.5mm needles 😉

I will try to send a copy of the example hats 🤞
Hope we get to see the fruits of your labours
