Siebre, if the idea is you put your wishes on the wishlist then her dad did exactly that, he put his wishes on a wishlist. It might not be fun for your daughter to buy but then the present isn't for her, its for the recipient. The fun part for her is drawing the name, perusing the wishlist, dreaming of the things she would like to buy with 30 euros but then the flipsiide is the more grown up looking at what the recipient actually asked for, deciding how she wants to allocate the budget and organising for her choice to be bought. She can then have another fun bit of wrapping it, maybe disguising the shape, adding a tag etc etc. Lastly is the anticipation waiting for dec 5th then the pleasure of seeing him open a present and get one of the things he asked for.
If thats the family tradition then he knows if he writes down wishes outside the budget he won't get it. He also should know if he writes down what he wants within the budget he won't get stuff he doesn't want?
Once you are past being a little child xmas presents dont hold quite the same excitement any more but your way sounds good so take his wishlist as it is and let him do his own thing each year maybe?
ETA: Unless the lists are expressly for non practical gifts? Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick here?

@daisy_1571 You're absolutely right; I'm just still a kid at heart, I've also been very frugal for a long time, so this is the time I get the 'extras' I've been eyeing during the year. Husband is currently doing up about 60 'defective' laptops from his company that he was given, so asking for a battery is more a business type wish. I'll suggest to dd1 that she wraps it up in a funny way and maybe send dad on a treasure hunt through the house

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
When DH got back yesterday, I put everything away & then cooked dinner - chicken kievs, mash & peas. DH washed up pots & pans 👏 I dupa & did the rest of the wudupa. Another hat is two thirds complete & I watched a couple more episodes of hidden.
2321 - 2323 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, newspaper - recycled
2324 Kitchen detritus binned
Friday I was up slightly earlier - 11:30. A nicer day today - blue skies & sunny with temperature 10C 🙂 Another hat is finished & has been road tested by DSis 😉 Apparently it is too warm 😅 The yarn is 80% Acrylic, 20% Wool. I have now started another hat in a different colour 🙂 I have finished watching the first series of Hidden - who knew Wales had so many weird people 🤔 & that nobody smiles 😔Highly unlikely & I have to suspend disbelief 😔 Timer on & a session of cheerleading about to commence 😉
Well done on selling the bed Crazycatlady2 👏 but a shame that you had to pay for mattress removal 😔 We seem to be very lucky with our council - 2 free collections of up to 5 items of bulky waste per year 🙂
EnergyShifter, all these renovations & building work 😥 no wonder you feel tied to the house 😔 Hopefully everything will be completed before the end of the year 🤞& you can enjoy a less expensive 2024 🤞
TC77, sounds like you are doing well with the sorting & the decluttering 👏 Great work on the first step of photograph editing 👏 Good luck with completing all tasks & clearing the table 🍀
ajmoney, I hope Thursday’s day of decluttering was successful 🤞 & that the ‘easy’ decluttering put you in the right frame of mind to tackle the harder decluttering 😊 Good luck 🍀
Fizz2015, sorry to hear that RL is taking over & you are so tired 😔 Please try to spend some time in the TLC Carriage 🙏
Back later 👋

I have forgotten what I said on here last. I do have a bag to take to a charity shop tomorrow or next week. Some of my clothes and a book. I sorted out the kitchen cupboards too.
This cold/flu is dragging on. I realised I have had it for 16 days now. I had to reschedule my dentist and GP appointment. I am feeling better today, but still quite tired. I'm sick of coughing and blowing my nose.
I did do one job I hate today. I took the filters out of the two vacuum cleaners to wash them. I don't remember the last time I did it. Eek. They were quite gross.
I did buy a new vacuum cleaner today in the Black Friday sale as I find mine quite heavy and this is a Shark lightweight one. I'm going to keep one upstairs and one downstairs and keep the other one as a spare just in case one of them breaks.

The Bathroom stuff got delivered today which was a bit of a nightmare. In spite of getting a text at 4 am to say your delivery will be there soon - it was delivered at 3:30pm - so I spent the whole day waiting in. The whole bathroom was delivered on a set of pallets and was left on the pavement outside our house - the driver wouldn't even bring it into the front garden! So DS and I had to unload the shrink-wrapped pallet in the middle of the school run - it took about 30 mins ... Suffice it to say - I was not in a good mood. I just can't get my head around such terrible service for a spent of around £1k plus £40 for delivery. Anyhoo it's here now so moan over....
On the plus side, not being able to go out meant I was quite productive administratively - booked hair-dresser appointment for Monday, arranged a refund for last years FitFlop boots that have already broken - gutted they were so comfy (& expensive), had a meeting about a facilitating gig next year, a meeting to sort something out for our PCC and caught up with a lot of work admin.
Tasks
- Took delivery of bathroom stuff
- Organised refund for boot

OUT (running total 582)
