I missed the entire morning - woke up at 13.30 😞 & appear to have slept straight through 😱 Now have my first cuppa, timer is on so will get straight into cheerleading mode 😀
vulpix, Excellent work at your Mum’s house on Monday 👏 I am still a bit aggrieved for you that your brother is not pulling his weight when it comes to the decluttering 😖 However the good thing is that once the upstairs is completed the downstairs decluttering will be slightly less physically demanding as you won’t have to negotiate the stairs 🤞 Good luck with the final upstairs room 🍀
daisy_1571, lovely idea for vulpix to save the monies that might be spent on items for the baby 😊 although I am full of admiration for vulpix as I understand her desire to spoil her grandson & her restraint is remarkable 👏 Excellent decluttering 👏 At this rate the last 66 items will be decluttered by the end of November 🤞
stellata, pleased to hear that you are recuperating well 😊 Please work your way slowly back to decluttering - plenty of rests in between decluttering sessions with lots of visits to the TLC Carriage 🙏
bit_by_bit, excellent decluttering on Monday & Tuesday 👏 I love the plan for saving your profits from sales to go towards your “world travel fund” 😊 Keeping everything crossed for successful sales 🤞
vulpix, I can understand MrV’s reaction to you doing all the decluttering at your Mum’s house but unless your brother has a complete personality transplant I don’t see anything changing 😉 So if donating a number of old duvets makes you happy, I would just go with it 😊
TC77, so pleased to hear that not only are you obeying doctor’s orders by resting & restricting your decluttering activities but that DD1 is taking care of you 😊 It is so lovely when someone else does the ‘heavy lifting’ 😉 I hope you are having fun working out a plan for your cousin’s visit 🤞but remember to factor in some catching up time 😊😉
The timer went off a few minutes ago so will post this, put the timer on for a session of knitting then come back to cheerleading 😅

Food bank bought a new big freezer in time to store all the Christmas turkeys. So I helped by decluttering the cardboard it came in - well decluttered from the FB. Now that it is dark out I can see how much of it I can fit in the neighbours' bins for recycling collection tomorrow....I also brought home all the shredded paper from there as well. I had a big wodge of bank statements etc that I have been lugging about with me (client info - not good practice...) so I emptied the shredder bin at work, shredded all the stuff, emptied the bin again and have that ready to dispose of here. Also have all the unshredded paper as well - you know the bits without any personal info on which can just go in to the recycling as is along with old marketing material. Shockingly the food bank has to pay extra to the council for disposing of a lot of stuff that comes its way so the staff and volunteers take home a lot of things to either take to the tip as private citizens or to put in our various bins.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I’m back 😉 I did a bit of knitting whilst watching an episode of my new series of choice ‘Hidden’ - another one set in Wales 😅 Very grim but the scenery is stunning 🙂 Other mini tasks done:- wrote a shopping list for DH & he will set off about 18:00, found Christmas cards, gathered together various knitted items (not counting until delivered 😉) & added them to the CS bag, lastly I did a bit of paperwork sorting. Not much in the scheme of things but a start 😂
weenancy, a great idea to get the neighbourhood handyman in to build a book shelf especially if it means that the 25 boxes of books can be got out of the way 😊 You are doing way better than I am in the ‘3 Extra Tasks a Day’ on top of your usual activities 👏 I had a fit of the giggles reading your comment “I think I am getting this "little old lady who needs help" thing going pretty well now. Everyone stops and asks me if I need help when I am shopping or putting things in my car. Being under 5' tall and in my mid-seventies and usually in a handicapped space, I fit the stereotype pretty well now.” 🤭 You started the family history thing very young if you have been doing it over 60 years 🤩 I am continually impressed by your zest for life & am so very happy to have met you in person 😊 Hope the weather forecasters are wrong about the rain 🤞
Thank you for the lovely compliment QueenJess ☺️ That sounds like my DSis’s experience of knitting so you are not alone 😉 Fingers crossed that you have been successful in your job interview 🤞Shame that work has been so busy 😔 BUT very pleased to hear that you have been spending time in the TLC Carriage 😊
GrannyKate, sounds like you had a lovely time at DD’s house 😊 A mini ‘break’ of sorts but enough to enthuse you for your next round of decluttering 😉 Excellent decluttering & well done DS2 for all the hard work he has done 👏 One medal 🏅🏅 for each of you 🙂
Excellent decluttering of cassettes Siebrie 👏
Nice to see you 2Scratters 👋 You have been very busy - some excellent decluttering 👏 What a lovely thing to do for your friend 😊 & congratulations to her for achieving ‘body changes’ 🥳
Lovely post daisy_1571 😊
Brie, your comment “This is why I'm nice to people, paying it forward. I know at some point (like next week most likely) I'll fall into that category and need assistance. In fact I've asked for help a few times like when I have 3 x 40 liter bags of compost to be put in the car!! I've learned I shouldn't really try to lift things like that - better to get some youngster to do it for me” had me laughing my socks off 🤣 Although I think you are nice to people just because that is who you are 😊
Timer has gone off & I am now only 1 & a bit pages behind 😉

Nice knitting
I am not one of life's knitters. Too lose really. LOL. Congrats on all the hats.
Thankyou MrSD. Soo much to sort through but I fee that I am making in roads into one of the large groups of items. The next lot will be craft. Maybe next week
Out yesterday: two bags to the CS
Today: bag of books to a friend and a box of books sent off to and online site. (call it a bag)
Huge bag of soft plastics dropped off at the local supermarket on way to friends house today. Counting as I go out of my way for this.
I realised that I had put boxes back under DS1s bed after scanning for the online sites. Theya re coming out again tonight and beeing reassigned.
I ad mit I do have one box to sell but in good heart the difference between 50p (online buying site) and £8 ( me selling on an online site) makes me hang on to them. I didn't quite manage to get through my decluttering list for today, for some reason I kept putting off dealing with my tights! I did tackle some other areas though and have a bag for charity and one for the bin as well as plenty of recycling.

Tis done. Christmas decorations rationalised...again. I am down to 3 sweet factory boxes. Smaller than a banana box. A huge amount of stuff has already been taken to the charity shop, including out door lights and tree lights and tbh I can't even recall it all now. I also went through the drawers in the sitting room, a couple of things added to the charity shop bag.
Another little hat knitted tonight. I will do one elf colours tomorrow.
The contents of under the stairs is now in the shed for the duration. The flooring will extend into the under stairs cupboard.
I don't know if I said they are coming Monday to start the downstairs floor.
I have over the past couple of days had a sort out of the kitchen drawers. Tomorrow I will have a go at the kitchen cupboards. Just arranging them better. Hopefully I will find a few bits to go. After this, the whole house has been gone through. From now on I expect my de cluttering to be much slower. It will be just natural wearing out or breakages, or knowing me,I just decide I don't like something!
There will be ins, a rug and a blind for the kitchen and new curtains in the sittingroom. I am undecided about that,I may do away with them and just have the blind that is already there. Deffo a door curtain though.

I have already wrapped most of my St Nicolas gifts (5 December)! The 4 rolls of wrapping paper are now in a central place on the landing, for the others to use.DD2 has almost finished buying her gifts (we draw names with attached wishlist), but DD1 is stuck, because she drew my husband and his wishes are all electronic and at our budget of €30. A spare laptop battery is no fun gift to give! That's another cultural difference: learning to make fun wishlists.I made an appointment with the GP to discuss the X-rays of my left foot. I probably need X-rays of my right foot, too. I need to buy proper hiking boots again; my old ones have lost their sturdiness. Hello everyone, long time no "see". I have been in the TLC carriage for about 2 months as I've been struggling with more health issues and now I have one foot in and one out 😁. I haven't been very productive but this is the list of things out that I can remember.
1 xmas metal tray, rusty
1 med plastic coated wire basket
1 pr sandals, hardly worn as they pinch me. I wouldn't/couldn't part with them for a long time, why? 🤔
1 black winter coat, mine, excellent condition but about 30 years old and only used for funerals ( replaced)
1 camouflage jacket, DH's ( too small )
1 down liner jacket, for above
5 pieces of plastic dropped by the bin men and collected from in front of our house. None of it was mine but now in my recycling box
3 caravan mags
A few cardboard boxes from deliveries to recycling
1 parcel to DD yesterday as we're the parcel depot for her, we're mostly in and she's out working all day.
Our bank account has taken a bit of a hit and we've spent a lot of money on the car this month, insurance, 4 new tyres today and an MOT due at the end of the month 😢
We had DGD and DD here to tea yesterday and we had a lovely time. DD took all the leftovers home with her so now I have to look in the freezer for something for tea today. At least the freezers are being emptied slowly ready for some xmas stuff, but I must remember not to fill them up again beforehand !
Hugs to anyone in need
