Enjoy the rainbow. Rain is hitting here next week - supposed to be really bad. Give a week and half or two to get to you. Maybe we'll be able to see a rainbow too.
Went to a special meeting of officers of Friends of the Library groups from two counties - very informative and really amazing how different the groups are. Invited them to our book sale next week.
Tomorrow I need to take G grocery shopping again - everybody keeps running out of soft drinks. I have managed to go this whole week without one, sticking to water and tea. I am running out of jam for my sandwiches and will pick up some dog bones too. Then we are going to get roast beef hamburgers for three of us to bring home to eat.
Saturday will be a quiet day. Then Sunday is tree decorating time. Rain doesn't start until Tuesday or Wednesday. May still be raining for the Book Sale and for the trip to put up more trees. Arranged to have book sale in basement of library on Friday - we will be able to spread out over three rooms and really straighten out the basement.
Hope everyone can dry out before the next rains come. The Farmer's Almanac says we are in for a wet winter here.15 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday has been an overcast, damp day with frequent showers 😞 Joy of joys, the recycling wheelie bin was emptied this morning 🙂 I was up before 09:00 but didn’t get dressed until later 😉 Tidied up some paperwork then watched more episodes of Shetland - I am on the final series with Jimmy Perez 😔Wrote a shopping list for DH & he headed out to sm about 14:30. Posted my letters/cards. Whilst he was out I vacuumed downstairs & only had to empty once 🥳 Put away all the shopping including portioning meat & fish into bags - takes up less space in the freezers 🙂 The hm soup was slightly spicier today as DH added a quarter teaspoon of very lazy chillies 😋Dinner was pork steaks, mash & peas with birthday cake for afters. Wudupa.
2284 - 2287 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, 2 cardboard boxes - recycled
2288 - 2289 Kitchen detritus, flower packaging - binned
Liverpool_Anne, I did indeed have a lovely day, thank you 😊 Yippee to your car passing it’s MOT 🥳 Well done on keeping it going so long - a sign of you taking care of it is that no major repairs were required 👏 What a busy Thursday 👏 You got so much done & I am looking forward to seeing your cake when it gets unwrapped 🙏 Hope you enjoy lunch with your friends & that you have a great holiday 😊
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Hope you have a great time 😊
Fizz2015, reading about how busy you were during half term I am surprised you had any time to sleep 😉 Then followed by a busy week at work, no wonder you were exhausted 😩 Excellent work running down the freezers 👏
Siebrie, sorry to hear that RL is so busy that it has curbed your decluttering 😔 What a lovely friend 😊Ironing lessons - what a great idea 🥳 Perhaps DD1 can do all the ironing now 😉😉 Rather jealous of DD2 as Robotland looks like great fun & educational too 😊
Excellent decluttering daisy_1571 👏 Not showing off at all 😊 What a wonderfully imaginative idea 🥳 I really enjoyed not only your description of the thought processes that went into your decision but the finished product is stunning 🤩 & I love the idea of having a pocket at the back of the wall hanging to store photos of you wearing all those lovely ‘Made in U.K.’ clothes 😍 So impressed at your ingenuity that I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️
Great decluttering Wednesday2000 👏 shame about the odd bits of fresh food having to be binned 😔Great picture of a beautiful double rainbow 😊 Hope the hospital appointment goes well 🤞
TC77, good luck for your op 🍀 Hope it all goes well & that you are home in your own bed with only a short stay in hospital 🤞 Looking forward to seeing you in the TLC Carriage whilst you are recovering 😊 Also very pleased to hear that DD1 will be looking after you 😊
weenancy, sorry to hear that you are forecast so much rain 😞 Hopefully the shopping trip won’t be too expensive 🤞I am pleased to hear that the next book sale is taking place indoors 🙂 Well done on cutting down your consumption of soft drinks 👏 Water & tea are so much better for your health - excellent TLC 😊
Hopefully everyone will have a good nights sleep 💤 & cwtches all round 🤗 🤗

@daisy_1571 - I did look and thought your wall hanging was stunning. It was a brilliant idea for capturing memories where they can be seen and enjoyed. I remember those shops and many a happy Saturday perusing the rails! Your idea has inspired me to think about how I might do something similar with the baby clothes that I have saved.13

Goodness! Less than a week since I posted and there's 90 unread posts !!!
bathroom update ...... Work has come to a standstill. Sadly the guy who is doing the bathroom got the awful news on Weds that his wife has Cancer. He'd taken the day off to go to the hospital with her and understandably hasn't been back. He thinks he'll be back on Monday but we're going to chat at the weekend. I know her and their children (the eldest of whom went to school with DS) and I can't imagine how difficult things are for them. They are a lovely family. 🙏
Its put things into perspective for me so I am being patient and not letting the state of the bathroom get to me. It's functioning (albeit with bare walls) and I have cleaned it up and got the rest of the house in a good state so its liveable for the time-being.
I finally got a visit from the roofing surveyor. I'm awaiting their quote. I asked for a ball-park and as long as nothing horrible is uncovered while they are investigating, its affordable. He gave me a worse case scenario quote and even though it would be painful to spend that amount of money - I have got it put aside.
I think my post viral fatigue has gone now - I don't feel particularly energetic still but it's a more normal November level tiredness... I have been eating badly - lots of carbs - and hardly exercising - so I am dreading stepping on the scales but I will hold my breath and do it at the weekend to see what I'm working with!! Whatever it is, I do need to get back into better routines.
Note: not counting anything in or out for bathroom renovation

@Wednesday2000 Did you get your brows dyed? I do mine myself after watching an older lady on yoo toob , I use just for men in dark brown as I have black brows which have gone sparse, it does stain the skin so I use an old mascara wand like the lady on the YT. And the colour is ok on my skin as it fills in the gaps. Very easy and only need a pea size amount of the dye and developer so last ages . Only leave on 5 min . So quick too.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.14

Hi all, the only thing I did yesterday from my list was a long phone call to my sister
. Arrangements have been firmed up and her mind put to rest, She is just about packed for her trip
. Today I will tackle the ironing and get mine done, I have a list
. I did have a lovely lunch yesterday and it was great to see my friend who I haven't seen for ages
. The journey home was marred by a major hold up on the motorway so just made it in time to watch the footy on the tv, then sorted tea, luckily I wasn't very hungry so didn't mind the wait :smiley.
@daisy_1571 love the wall hanging. Such nice fabrics, I am sure you will think of something to do with the rest
@Vulpix what a lovely step son, not only a good handy man but a marriage saver
Right off to tackle the ironing, hugs to anybody who would like one.

Take care everyone

Thanks for all the lovely comments about my sentimental wallhanging and my gold star too Mrs sd. Moorviews glad if it helps you enjoy the baby clothes. I used a technique ive never used before, quilt as you go i think it was. So easy. I can send you a pic of the book cover if you want to use same way.

I looked in the mirror when I got home and thought they looked very dark at first. My brows have looked sparse and thin for years (and I stopped using an eyebrow pencil too) so I'm not entirely used to it.
My husband said they look absolutely fine and when I got up today I was more used to them already. I think she did a good job.
I will look for that Youtube video. It was very quick so I'm sure I could do it myself next time.2025 GOALS
