OH took a bag of my things to CS and some old meds to chemist. Collected some new mugs for me (much needed) and couldn’t get rid of spent batteries at SM as they have swapped the battery bin for a vape recycling bin. Car broke down and has been taken away by truck - latest update was main dealers were arguing over which branch was going to take it so currently we don’t know where it is. In the boot apparently is my bag of soft toys with the label on of exactly which creatures it contains - hopefully the mechanics will find it funny to have a car full of pandas and penguins.I picked OH up from town. When we arrived home he handed me the box of new mugs whose bottom fell out plus all three mugs. Luckily 2 bounced on the carpet and are o k but the third is now missing it’s handle. Due to the car breakdown OH had to miss his haircut appointment. He is not a happy bunny - if he’d gone straight to barbers he would at least have had his haircut whilst awaiting breakdown truck instead of doing all my errands.
Personally I think he’s every right to feel grumpy…
Let’s hope the car has found its way to someone who can repair it and get it back to us by Friday. I will be removing the bag of soft toys as soon as the car comes back. OH is forever moving my things - when he had his own place he would take boxes of my things over there without telling me. I know I have too much stuff and am doing something about it and if he moves things, I can’t sort them out.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅16 -
Liverpool_Anne why not pop round Xmas eve, drop off the present for the baby (don't feel forced into getting other presents that the poor Germans will have to try to get in suitcases and lug back home, plus they won't be bringing stuff for everyone they see over here so they'll feel bad) and let them all get on with it. Sounds like a germ fest to me lol, people on planes, including children, all crowded into a hot house. Do what you both enjoy on Xmas and boxing day. Video phone call to them if you want, see the chaos from afar and visit oh sister in January and catchup then with how it all went. Just a suggestion of course
(from a bah humbug who nevertheless will decorate until it looks like the Xmas fairy has exploded all over the house.....but likely will have no one in to see it except us honcho, just the way we like it)
Mr sd great 🎃s
Lovely photo of Brighton too
Hugs to everyone whod like one tonight

Oceanspirit what a day! Sending you both individual hugs

Daisy,I second the idea for Q jess. If it's possible,do it. You need a break.xx
I would have stolen the dog and puppies too. I once stole a guinea pig that wasn't being looked after, they didn't notice for a week that it had gone. They didn't want him back. Rusty had a long happy life living in my garden with my rabbit.
A constructive day. 3 loads of washing done, craft club where I offloaded my Christmas fair makes, covid and flu jabs then sanding the mid century drawers and varnishing them. They had a nasty water stain on the top, not completely gone but much improved. Oh we went to the carpet shop,he was waiting for us to tell him when we had taken up the old laminate floor in the sitting room. On the list!
Tomorrow we need to put the cases back in the loft with a storage box of dolls. Some mine and some DD1 asked me to get rid of. I have washed all their clothes today and will keep them a little longer in case grandchildren want them. I have also sorted a black bag of dolls house furniture. A few things I have thrown as I have mended them so many times previous;y.I have also kept her little tea set and cooking set.It all fits in one box and we have kept them 30 years so far, a little longer won't hurt.
We are also off to Sheffield tomorrow to give the new tenant the keys to DD's house.
Thank you for posting photos. Take care all Vx:17 -

We probably had between 30 to 40 trick or treaters & just about had enough sweeties for all of them 😊 About half of them were dressed up & several were wearing rather scary masks 😧 At 20:15 our last little visitor turned up with mum & dad turned up 😊 The tea lights in the pumpkins (which were lit at 17:00) are still going strong at 22:30 🙂 Dinner was fried chicken pieces, mash, carrots & cabbage. Wudupa.

mehefin, what an interesting ‘top of the wardrobe’ 😊 Some real treasures especially the WW2 photos & documents 😊 Thank you for sharing such a lovely memory of your dad - “the footpath guru for the parish” - it brought a huge smile to my face 😁
dND, “sales progressor” whatever will they think up next 🤔 Fingers crossed that your email will chivvy them along 🤞
weenancy, I am really pleased to hear that although you have had strong winds you only had branches to pick up 😮💨 We have been lucky so far - just rain. Shame you haven’t seen the library ghost 😔 but having said that I never saw the ghost at mum & dad’s farmhouse in France although my DSis did 😉 Wishing you continued success in getting all your Christmas gifts sorted 🍀 At this rate I will have to give roommate G a medal for taking out the trash 😅 but I will wait to see if he continues to do this until Christmas 😉 Do let me know if he slacks off 😉 Surely watching the World Series is a group event?
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 Fingers crossed that writing lists will stop your mind whirring 🤞
Fizz2015, pleased to hear that you are feeling better 🙂 Fingers crossed that you can run down the freezer in the next 2 weeks 🤞
oceanspirit, well done on using up food items with a minimum of waste 👏 Please stay safe on Thursday 🙏
Wednesday2000, shorts are rather nice when the weather is baking hot 😉
I am enjoying the conversation about dogs 😊 The husky that lives with weenancy is very lucky to have her as an owner - by default. One of her roommates brought the husky into the house & abdicated all responsibility 😔
Wednesday2000, thank goodness for that neighbour 👏
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Good luck with the frogs 🍀
Madbat60, so cute 😊 Thank you for the lovely photos & for rescuing the hogs 👏 Will you be visiting them?
I am off to bed now - I know quite early for me 🤣
P.s. one tea light lasted for 7hrs & the other lasted 8.5 hours - it was at an angle 🥳

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger the rescue will grow them and then we'll have them back when they're big enough. I have one more tiny one to catch. Took these 3 in this morning, i called them Mary, Mungo and Midge. In return I took a large female hog home who can't go back to where she came from. I adore them18

A wet & windy start to Wednesday 😔 DH left at 10:10 to drop off motorbike for MOT & new suspension. It took him 1 hour 40 minutes to travel 16 miles & he got soaked twice 😔 DH has decided to treat himself to breakfast in a cafe whilst he tries to dry off a little. I was up 11:30 having only got up once during the night 🙂
Wow you have been busy vulpix 😔 I was thoroughly exhausted reading about all your adventures 😩Hopefully RL will calm down a little/lot 🤞 I see oat milk was a step too far for the French 🤣 but pleased to hear that you had a great time in Paris 😊 Good luck with the renovations to the drawers & all your craft makes 🍀 Unfortunately the pattern I sent was flawed 😱 So I have PM’d you the correct pattern 😉
Gorgeous photo daisy_1571 😊
leftatthetrafficlights, equanimity restored & a final comment - I have no problem with my routine Annual Health check blood test but want to go at a time of my choosing 😊 Excellent job decluttering the demijohns 👏 only another 2 trips to the cs 😉 Very MSE re the buckwheat 🥳

Not much achieved today as am so tired from not being able to sleep for worrying about stuff. Frankly I'm not sure what to worry about the most at the moment, but I know the whole work thing is the biggest thing keeping me awake at night.I needed to book dentist, hygenist, nurse and doctors appointments; all of which I am dreading, but decided to take a pull off the plaster approach and rang to book all of them in for this month to get them over and done with. Sadly two of them clash with days I'm meant to be in the office and are in the middle of the day so I'll have to work from home. At least there's a small upside!Otherwise I am just waiting for the bread to finish proving (clearly it's a bit cold today, so taking longer than usual) so I can re-use the bowl to prep the pizza dough for tonight before I go to pick up DS from after school club and taking him swimming. Straight into cheerleading as I am determined to catch up 😉 Just need to translate that into dealing with frogs & clutter 😂
weenancy, the husky sounds as if she has acclimatised but still a bit sad that she wasn’t able to be re-homed to a more suitable climate 😔 You are having unseasonably warm weather & must be looking forward to some colder weather 😉 Hope you had plenty of sweeties in for your trick or treaters & that the constant knocking on the door wasn’t too distressing for the husky 🤞Fingers crossed that none of you have any adverse reactions to your Covid jabs 🤞
QueenJess, sorry to hear that the work situation hasn’t improved 😔 Lots of cwtches coming your way 🤗 Reading ahead I agree with daisy_1571 that if your finances can support it, you should take some time off. You need a break! As is usual for you more excellent decluttering 👏
Brie, those 2 jewellery boxes sound very interesting 🤔 just a shame that they weren’t looked after 😔
Liverpool_Anne, sounds like your Christmas presents shopping is going well 😊 As to Christmas visiting, I think Floss’s suggestion bears serious consideration 😉 Fingers crossed that the weather on Friday will not be too severe 🤞
Wednesday2000 I hope you enjoyed seeing Ricky Gervais 😊 The weather in Brighton might be dreary but I love the ‘moody’ photograph 😊 Well done on decluttering the cs bag & the meds 👏
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, it sounds like it might be time for a visit to Brighton 😉 Well done on the email decluttering 👏 I now have everything crossed that DD2 will return the ‘borrowed’ coat 🤞😅
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 Hope you enjoyed your ‘spooky film’ & that it wasn’t too scary 🤞
oceanspirit, you & OH are not having a lot of luck at the moment 😔 He might be feeling grumpy but at least he managed to drop off the cs bag & the old meds 😉🙃 Keeping everything crossed that the car is fixed by Friday & that your pandas & penguins return home safely 🤞 Not quite sure I would be quite so forgiving of having boxes & bags of stuff relocated without my permission 🤨 I take it OH has no clutter or I would suggest you hide his stuff - only joking 🙃 OR AM I …………..
daisy_1571, what a brilliant & well thought out idea for Liverpool_Anne 🥳 We are even more bah humbug than you daisy - no Christmas decorations 🤣 & we have the Day itself with just the 3 of us, then Boxing Day we usually have an invite to DH’s niece with an overnight stay. Lovely though that is & we always have a good time, we can’t wait to get home & have bubble & squeak 😅 DH & I especially think it is the best meal over the Christmas period 🤣 DH is quite chuffed that you liked the 🎃 🎃
vulpix, it both saddens & angers me when people treat their pets so badly 😔😠 Thank heavens for people like you 👏😇 You definitely had a very successful & busy day yesterday 🥳👏 Hopefully the grandchildren will love the dolls etc & DD1 won’t object to just one box 🤞 Doesn’t keeping things for 30 years mean that they are classified as ‘heirlooms’ 😉
Soontobeoap, I have bookmarked the ‘Bust your stash’ crafting forum as I love admiring the many & varied makes 😊 so many very talented people 🥳 Thanks for the lovely comments about MrSD’s 🎃🎃 Usually he uses a template but decided to be brave this year 🙂 Good luck with your clear out 🍀
Madbat60, 😌 so cute 🥰 Good luck catching no.6 so it can join its brothers & sisters at the rescue centre 🍀 Any chance of a picture of your new family member 🙏
Oh QueenJess, I just want to envelop you in a big hug & whisk you away somewhere warm 🤗 Very well done on grabbing the bull by the horns & getting all your health appointments booked for this month 👏 I can almost conjure up the smell & taste of freshly baked bread ☺️ More cwtches coming your way 🤗
It is DSis’s birthday today so DH & I will be cooking her a steak dinner with all the trimmings. Sadly both her son & our brother have ‘forgotten’ to send cards 😔 so she only has one from us & one from her friend. Her flowers eventually arrived about 14:00 - a lovely autumn colours bouquet 💐
Hope everyone is staying safe & warm 😊
