Just popping on for "Bathroom" sympathy. This bathroom remodelling is an absolutely nightmare. The guy doing my bathroom put "hard-wall" on the walls because they were in such a bad state it and after he left the whole place started stinking like rotten eggs and the fumes are triggering my migraines. We've only got one bathroom and toilet. I've been trying to dry the plaster out with a dehumidifier to see if that helps. He was off yesterday but is back today so hopefully something can be done.
Sorry I know there are much worse things happening in the world but I'm finding it hard to cope because of the migraines. I am beside myself. 😭
Edit: - Just phoned my cousin and has a good cry - feel a lot better now !

Morning All, very wet and slightly windy here. Need to pop out to return clothes I really don't need. Need winter trousers and winter appropriate office/smart footwear but not having much luck. Can't wear walking boots or trainers everywhere however comfortable.
Mission today, is attempting to tidy the house, with mama Fizz due on Saturday and friends coming to watch fireworks on Sunday. Will need to ensure bathrooms spotless and routes to them tidy! Maybe that's where I'll focus my efforts first. Going to pop into the YMCA shop and see if they accept donations too.
Hope everyone stays save with the weather.

Good morning, just popping in to say happy Birthday to your sister Mrs SD.xx
I have decided to sand the drawer top again,I am not happy with the outcome. Yes I know I am too fussy. I will line the drawers with some wrapping paper stash before filling them.
I finished the lap blanket for my daughter in laws Mum. I will parcel it up and get Mr V to post it when he goes to pick his car up. He scratched the alloy wheels reversing past the bins onto dd2's drive! It seems we are having another new to us car soon!

EnergyShifter you have my sympathy. I run away and leave OH to deal with any home repair/maintenance work as I just cannot cope with any of it. At this time of year you can’t escape any smells so I am sorry you have had to deal with that.
We have removed a button from the washing machine filter and will give it a try today to see if that has solved the noise problem. We have traced OH’s car and it should be ready to collect tomorrow. The weather should be much improved by then so I will be able to drive him as far as the station so he can take a train to fetch it.
OH did a bin lorry watch early this morning and we were surprised that they both turned up. So recycling and garden bins emptied and put away straight away to stop them rolling down the hill. He had to intercept a neighbour’s bin and wedge it in place and put out the bin of another neighbour so he’s gone for a lie down after all that activity!
Had a fatigue day yesterday so a lot to do today ie hospital packing, receiving a couple of deliveries (weekly vegbox) and making meals around whether OH decides to go out tonight or not. Have been resisting buying a poncho as I have enough jumpers for the winter and don’t want to buy more things than I actually need, and I know I wouldn’t actually wear it, but I can still hear it calling to me as it’s a lovely colour. It would be great for fantasy me…Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅15 -

oceanspirit, you & OH are not having a lot of luck at the moment 😔 He might be feeling grumpy but at least he managed to drop off the cs bag & the old meds 😉🙃 Keeping everything crossed that the car is fixed by Friday & that your pandas & penguins return home safely 🤞 Not quite sure I would be quite so forgiving of having boxes & bags of stuff relocated without my permission 🤨 I take it OH has no clutter or I would suggest you hide his stuff - only joking 🙃 OR AM I …………..

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH eventually got home about 14:30 but did stop at M&S to buy birthday dinner ingredients. Dinner was delicious - steak, oven chips, dry fried mushrooms, fried onions, tomatoes & peas. About an hour later we had a slice of shop bought chocolate cake. An additional present for DSis was a Toblerone with the legend “Snooze Slayer” 😅 Wudupa. DSis stated that she had a lovely birthday & wanted me to pass on her thanks to daisy_1571, weenancy, flamingo747 & TC77 for her birthday wishes 😊
2247 - 2249 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard box - recycled
2250 Kitchen detritus binned
Thursday is wet & windy. We had intended to go out but instead have decided to hunker down 😉Todays mail included a letter from the surgery requesting my mobile phone number…….. a very curt response has been sent by email as I do not own a mobile phone. After Tuesday’s phone call my first thought was that they wanted a mobile number so I could be harangued by text 😉 or maybe I am just being cynical 🤨 As we have some rather tasty steak juices from last night’s dinner, DH is now in the kitchen chopping & peeling vegetables for soup 🥳
Ending my post on that very happy note & the joy that I won £50 on the Premium Bonds, I will be back later to cheerlead 😊

Energy shifter, rennovations can be extremely trying, you have my sympathies.
The drawers are done, again and a full roll of wrapping paper used to line them,so satisfying to use things up.I am just taking five then I will fill the drawers with my craft stash which has lived an itinerant life in 2 banana boxes for many years.I am finding things to fill a bag for the chazza as I go. There is a box of "papers",not household papers but certificates and stuff Mr V's Mum kept. He is an only child and she proudly kept everything that ever had his name on,newspaper clippings and the like. I have found a bravery certificate he was awarded as a teenager for saving a young boy from the river. I think I will frame it and find room for it on a wall somewhere. It is quite ornamental.

Been away for a week - got back last Thursday evening - Friday was getting ready for the table top sale. Saturday was the usual tiring sale day - we raised £815.92.
Sunday was spent all day at SA - it was new members enrollment followed by a lunch and Songs of Praise time.
Monday morning was a funeral at our old Church - we went to the wake in the Church hall as the service was poorly attended and we wanted to support the family who we know well. On Monday evening - we went to the first week of an Alpha course at SA.
I needed to change some items that I bought while away in Nottingham so went to the nearby shopping centre on Tuesday morning. In the afternoon I had a mega baking session - used 22 eggs - I made 2 large lemon sponge puddings for Wednesday's SA lunch plus a jam sponge pudding for us.
Yesterday was SA friendship/lunch club so a tiring time then I spent hours in the office with the captain counting money. He has asked if I will become the new Corps treasurer which will involve training.
Weather here today is dreadful - people were advised to remain at home.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
