Yes, dog was happy to go outside in the morning. She usually spends the night playing for a couple of hours after we have gone to bed - with her noisiest toys. We have a six foot fence around the yard. The neighbors all have dogs in their yards also. And we have a gate that must be opened from the inside - and you have to know how to use the brick to open it! When people come to read the meters they have to let us know they are coming so we can unlock the gate and hold onto the dog. She has her own little hideaway out there. We don't have any air conditioning inside and she likes to cool off in the pool. Only goes as far as the steps though and tries to reach over and pull me out when I go in. It is still hot here - will be over 80F (around 28C every day for the next two weeks at least - and no chance of rain) so she gets too hot in the house.
Today I will be working at the library for a few hours. Then getting ready for Halloween children - usually between 7 and 8pm we get a large number coming by. Tomorrow I have an appointment with the neurologist and then three of us are getting our Covid shots - postponed from last month, because we got Covid!
I have been reading about the storm coming your way. I hope they are wrong about how strong it is going to be. Sounds like a Prepared for Winter and Prepping for Disaster kind of thing so far. Sending everyone hugs and prayers. I will be thinking about you and wishing you all the best over the next week.18 -
Still struggling to engage with work at all. No idea how I am going to survive until finding another job and the notice period
Started considering a 3 month break on no pay over the winter whilst it is quieter as they may agree to that and I can keep my sanity.
In the meantime I am continuing to clear down the freezer and working through all the digital clutter. Loads more to do on both counts. Thank goodness for a day off tomorrow.Digital:

Brie, that sounds like a lot of work to get done in 90 minutes 😮 However, I think that as you have made such a thorough plan you will be successful 😊 ………… Sounds like the table in the garage was rather more full than you expected 😉 Wow, that is a lot of jewellery boxes 😅such a shame that they have been nibbled at by the mice 😔
It's not the nibbling that annoys me..... And they wouldn't have been worth much of anything nibbled or not. Old watch boxes or biscuit tins of no real note. There was one nice grass woven basket thing, one that was all mirrors on the outside and another that looked like a fun tourist article from France circa 1955. I think they may all be worth selling if only for a small amount given some nibble damage and "staining".

3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend

6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
A short post to show off DH’s handiwork 😉
DH had a flurry of activity - filled the bird feeders & fed the worms then carved two pumpkins (free hand) which are now sitting on the wheelie bins. We also have sweeties ready for any trick or treaters 🙂

Hi all, medium sm shop today and picked up 6 more Christmas presents of the edible and drinkable variety
. I am making up a box to take to my sister's as this will save on the postage. I have just about got everything except I want to get a couple of those long hot water bottles for dsis and bil. I try to do a small gift at christmas and larger birthday presents as I think it is an expensive time of year so it saves all round for me and them
. I have no idea where dnephew will be so I will cancel christmas with him
, he is usually happy with this
and dniece will be in Bequia. Only once have I sent a present to her there and the customs made her open it there and then and charged her import tax on it so they only get a card now
I am hoping large quantities of wrapping paper will be decluttered soon
Plans are being made to go to OHs dsis at some point over christmas. The original plan was for boxing day but OHs nephew, wife and 2 children will be over from Germany so christmas day is now being mooted. The problem with this is that the niece with the baby will not be there until boxing day and the other nephew will only be there boxing day. Also there is a footy match on boxing day so I am in a complete dither. Either christmas day with the German based bit of the family or boxing day with the hoards which will overwhelm me. I come from a background of small family christmas celebrations. I can't even imagine how she is going to fit everyone in the house never mind round the table to eat. I am burying my head in the sand about this for the moment. What it means also is I will have to get presents for the German based children at least as I have presents for the baby. Ho hum bar humbug
@weenancyinAmerica I am envious of your weather right now and couldn't think of anything nicer than a swim in the pool to cool down. It is grey and drizzly here and not much hope of getting better, only worse in the coming days.
I have a funeral on Friday with a woodland burial, I expect my wellies to come in useful and my dry robe
Right off to sort tea, hugs to anybody who would like one
1444 - 1449 Christmas presents bought
Take care everyone

I'm in Brighton today and tonight to see Ricky Gervais. The weather has been terrible as it was pouring earlier. Oh well.
We did take the donation bag to the charity shop and drop off the unused meds to the pharmacy before we got the train today. One less thing to declutter when we get home.
