Hi, are baby hedgehogs hogletts? Love them, we see one sometimes in the garden, I don't feed him as there is plenty to eat in the woods. If it's slugs he likes there is a smorgesbord of them on my hostas.
Mrs SD ,you are so kind. I will have a go at your pattern when I have ousted some ufo's. I was given a lovely baby knits book at craft club yesterday. I would like to do several things from there too. I have been to the Range today (christmas has landed, in all shops actually) I saw a cushion that has given me an idea for a Christmas baby blanket.
Soontobeoap, I have been on the stash busting thread for years. It has really taken off this year with a lot of contributors, the year I have done next to no crafting.I do lurk and look at all the very lovely things people produce. This year for the craft fair I have made by request some knitted slippers, some party sprout decorations, some Christmas coasters and some pigs in blankets decorations. I only do bits for the Christmas fair because people who don't make things have no idea how long things take to make and don't want to pay what they think is a high price. I will try and do some photos,I seem to alternate on mse of being locked out on my laptop or locked out on my phone. Currently locked out on my phone. Oh I am also going to make some giant marshmallow, chocolate and crushed candy cane lollies. Hence trip to the Range for lolly sticks.
Went to the big charity shop (exciting, don't get out much) Bought an old copper pan thing that will look nice with a pointsettia in, a shirt for Mr V, Christmas cardigan for Grandma V, a top for me and 4 baby clothes. £10 spent. I am still losing weight at about 1lb a week.So always rotating my clothes about.
First full day at home tomorrow in a long time,I will transfer my craft things to their new home.

Hi Vulpix. Nice to see youhere. Would love to see photos of your makes.
Today I have used up one thin quilt (only used 3 times) , and some fabric that I have had for years by making it all into a quilt for youngest granddaughter who is 2 and just moving into her big bed.Counting that as another big bag out.
Have also dealt with a big frog and cleaned the condensation mould off of my kitchen and dining room windows and cupboard doors. I am ashamed to say that I also decluttered 2 bags of flour that were on top of the microwave. (I hate throeing food away. The bags were covered in mildewy spots! I think that our newish double glazing combined with all of the wet washing drying indoors has made our house damper than usual. I thought that it would be harder to remove than it was so have been putting it off. Now the kitchen /diner looks like a new pin. I am very pleased. All in all a good day!craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

My day off, only a bit of decluttering today!! Due to helping out with messy church, launderette and weekly shop. Day didn't get off to a good start as the lightbulb in the frounr room fell out of the pendant and smashed on the coffee table scattering over 3\4 of the carpet. So I only hoovered last night and had to re hoover this morning and add lightbulbs to the shopping list. By the time I got home it was getting dark and I could not get a bulb into the fitting, on closer examination with phone light the bits holding the banette fitting have broken off! No light in living room, had to purchase 2 table lamps from Argos as we need light - tommoro a new fitment will be purchased and fitted but we need light tofit it as everyone needs to work and we need light to fit a new fitment. On the plus side we now have lamps to put on the bedside tables!!!
This evening I have got rid of 2 bags of rubbish and a bag and a half of charity donations, my car boot is now full!! I tried to donate at the sallyarmy donation centre but they couldn't take any more donations day due to health and safty??? Will try again early next week , or try sue rider (free carpark) or BHF 20p /hour carpark .... I just want rid!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"16 -
Hi all, not much done today, the last 2 nights of not much sleep caught up with me today. I had to collect my friend from the airport and I was going to offer to take her for lunch but she wanted to get straight home as she has a friend coming to stay tomorrow and is then off to Wales for the weekend for her dil 40th birthday celebrations so I went and did some more christmas shopping
. 3 more gifts bought including the hot water bottles for dsis and bil. When I got home I was like a wet dish rag and had to have a nap
. I spent the evening listening to the footy on the radio while lounging on the couch. Luckily OH was out or I'd have been relegated to the back room
.
The issue of what we are doing at christmas has still not been resolved but we will have to discuss it tomorrow.
@Floss, I think christmas day would be my preference but I am not sure OH would want to do both days. It is 140 mile round trip but I also think OH will want to see the baby. I might just say lets stay at home on christmas day and you go on boxing day and I will do the footy.
@daisy_1571 unfortunately popping in is not an option at any time due to the distance and christmas eve we have standing arrangements with 2 lots of friends we always visit. The gifts for the adults are very much token gifts of chocolates but I really couldn't not get gifts for the children although I have thought about them transporting stuff home and am aiming for something small in size or wearableI have time to think about it
I must also admit I like to decorate at christmas, especially the tree which is always a real tree with a lot of multicoloured bling. I don't do designer trees, I just put as much on it as I can. OH says I like shiney things at christmas. I will also say that I haven't done this for a few years due to covid initially and then the house being such a mess I couldn't fit the tree in, maybe this year fingers crossed
@Madbat60 living the hedgehogsand like Vulpix said if they want some slugs I too can offer about 6 months worth
@Mrs SD those pumpkins are brilliant, well done Mr SD. We had no trick or treaters call at all but the weather was terrible, lashing down all evening. I don't mind trick or treaters but we have a thing here called mischief night on 30th which as far as I can see is just an excuse for hooligans to go about vandalising. There were 16 buses attacked with bricks !!!! I hate it as you never know what will happen. I have had eggs smashed over my car in the past which is such a pain trying to get it off the windows before you can drive to work. Honestly if I had children I wouldn't let them out of the house on mischief night. Could you send me your scarf pattern please. I must admit I looked at it and thought it didn't make sense to me but decided I would have to try it on the needles
@Wednesday2000 it doesn't matter what the weather is like if you are near the sea
@TC77 your mention of christmas cards sparked an idea with me. I can take some down to my sister's when I go to dog sit. I have already thought about what crochet and books I can take but that will be one less job to do when I get back and I have loads in my stash
@sillyvixen The mind boggles what the h + s issue could be with donations unless they just don't have room for it without it causing a trip hazzard or falling off the pile. I usually donate to a YMCA shop as I know they do a lot of work with homeless people and I always think they can give some of the clothes to their clients as well as sell them. The shop doesn't seem to carry a lot of clothes, more kitchen stuff and ornaments but it is always busy so maybe the clothes sell quickly.
Right I have now waffled enough to feel sleepy so hugs to anybody who would like one
1450 - 1452 Christmas presents bought
Take care everyone
