Evening All, caught up in real life again and forgetting to post. Nothing major just a busy week plus busy evenings and early starts. Now on half term here in Wales and I have a few days off work. We did Pumpkin carving today. Other plans include beach trip to find dinasour footprints, make a ceramic poppy workshop, Halloween party, NT visit and fireworks. Plus my covid jab tomorrow. DD's room is due another tidy and sort out, we started today and will do a bit each day.
Mrs SD I am now up to 1827 items.16 -
OH cleaned the lounge (thoroughly!!!), moved some furniture around and discovered that the electric mop machine doesn't actually work so is getting rid of it. managed pair of trackies to textile bag and new trousers to CS bag. Getting better at putting things
1753 in CS bag. also set aside a few things to try and sell, but they may go in cs bag. I think books and stationery are big areas for me. Hoping DD2 who is back for a week will help me put a book case (from my dad's) together which may encourage me to sort things oot. Did pick up a pan and kitchen scales from a neighbour but if DD2 doesn't want will go to CS.
car passed MOT, relief as left it v late. While I waited went round CSs and didn't buy anything!

Up and feed pets. Managed to take two bags of food for the neighbors. Threw away a box of out-of-date food that looked like it had been invaded by bugs. Cleaned up ten bags of stuff that had been left around. Started cleaning up the books in my room. then sat down for lunch and started to work on Ancestry.com. They are starting to phase in two-step security. I hate it. I don't have a working cell phone, I have a land -line, and I don't want to always check into to email on whatever computer I am working on at the moment. I have closed accounts because of this. So I started making sure that I had copies of everything on Ancestry instead of working on the room for awhile. Does anyone else have a problem with this, or am I just behind the times and too poor to fit in any more? Back to cleaning up the room now, but still upset. It says I can disable for awhile, but it says it will soon be required. So still making me mad.18

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday was a dark, miserably grey day. DH decided he wanted to make soup, so I sourced ingredients from freezer (various leftover bits) & fridge (bendy vegetables). Then helped DH peel & chop. The soup is now bubbling away & will be tasted later, when ingredients have broken down, to see if it needs any more seasoning. DH has tasted the hm soup & given it his seal of approval 😋 The 4th scarf is almost finished as I have been knitting whilst watching more episodes of SW. Dinner was chicken (from freezer) & mushroom risotto 😋 with plenty lo for risotto cakes. Wudupa. It has rained on & off since about 18:00 😔

EnergyShifter, it might be “the little things that keep us going” but the big things like the dehumidifier doing two jobs at once is immensely satisfying 👏
Oh QueenJess, I just want to give you a huge hug so I am sending you lots of cwtches 🤗 + a kick up the jacksie for your DH 😉 Well done on starting to empty down the freezers ready for defrosting & then restocking with Christmas goodies 👏 Very pleased to hear that you treated yourself to some soft wool socks & some fingerless gloves 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 More cwtches coming your way 🤗
GrannyKate, absolutely disgusting treatment 😖 So pleased that I have never felt the urge to visit Detroit 😅 Excellent decluttering 👏 & very well done on almost finishing the bedroom 4 decorating 🥳
Happy_Kitties, what a lovely generous thing to do 🤩
You are definitely on a roll TC77 😊 Excellent work in the kitchen & dining room 👏 I am hoping for a couple of pictures 😉🙏 I have made a note of your updated number 🙂 As to your stated targets for 2023, I made a note & they are: No.1 = 2023 in 2023, No.2 sorting out your Dad’s house, No.3 tackling frogs + you have already stated that in 2024 you are going to try to curb your wombling tendencies 😉 So I think you are doing very well 👏
Congratulations on selling your car Crazycatlady2 🥳
More excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏
Nice to see you Fizz2015 👋 You have a really busy half term lined up 🤩 So fingers crossed that you have no adverse reaction to your Covid jab 🤞 An excellent decluttering number 👏 & only 196 items to go before you get another gold star 😉
Brie, excellent work by your OH earning a medal 🏅 & especially nice to hear that a largish item has been decluttered 👏 I hope you took the opportunity for some TLC as it is rather exhausting watching other people work 😂
TC77, you definitely have your decluttering mojo back 👏 You are getting into some really good habits 😊 especially looking & NOT buying when visiting CSs 🥳 & Great news that your car passed it’s MOT 👏
Excellent decluttering & tidying weenancy 👏 How very irritating that Ancestry are moving to two-step security 😖 I can see why you hate it 😡 There really doesn’t seem to be any valid reason for the change - it is not as if there is any financial info on the site 🤔
All caught up again & am now off to bed 🙂

Morning All, been awake since 5am, got to love the clocks going back, always takes me a week or 2 to adjust.
Only 196 items until my next star, I will make that our half term challenge.
And now I am off to sort the 2 freezers out and attempt a meal plan. The aim to use everything up this week and defrost them before restocking/batch cooking. We might have some interesting meals 😉15 -
I and DB have failed on my dad's house. I don't mind if we sell or rent but had quotes for work and he had a friend who'd project manage. The house still has stuff in it including a desk I'm having. I've got rid of.mine and using dining room table . Dd2 I thought would be upset I'm looking to get rid of.dining table.but doesn't to.be and sad that it's so big (.has one leaf up) and there's only me..I brought all the 8 chairs together and took photos as going to try and sell. Hoping dnephew would drive a van from new forest but going to get quotes for.removal. issue us being so far, working full time.and having cats! I have minor op.next month and prob 2 month off so may go down next weekend and bring back boxes of letters/photos to.sort through. Although I have my own!
Mm love mushroom risotto but have never made risotto cakes. Do you shape and fry?17 -
I read that vogue (or one writer) suggest 74 items of clothing with 20 outfits is sufficient (I assume excludes underwear and nightwear) and reading another simple life post. So up and took out glasses from cupboard, decided a nice weight and others I thought I'd wait and see if I use at Xmas. Have some vintage flowery teacups (1910/20) which I will see if posh CS wants. Got out my dad's heavy 1980s Jones sewing machine to pass on but realise I don't know where instructions are so that's away again!!
Did drop off ink cartridges and out of date covid tests yesteday ( too easy to forget)
